“Do you think you can still work with him on stunt scenes? You mean he'll be fine in your opinion?”
“He can do it. If he is not afraid to go up in height, he will do well. He has a cool determination, as if he wants to prove to the whole world that he can do something. Now I will keep a closer eye on him. Accidents also happen to experienced stuntmen, let alone novice actors. There will be ok with Brylski.
This assurance pleased Radosz, who even smiled without realizing it. Rafał Brylski was really determined and devoted to this production and he really wanted to play this stunt scene, so he will be glad that Mońka has a good opinion of him.
"By the way, you may know how he feels," the stuntman asked earnestly. “We talked to the guys, but no one has a phone number for him. We were supposed to ask the makeup girls because they are friends with his assistant...”
“Nothing happened to him. He just needs to get a little rest. To be sure, Brylski spent the night in the hospital, but there is really nothing to worry about.”
"That’s good," Mońka sighed with relief. His face brightened a little. This honest guy really cared about the well-being of Rafał. His people too. What about the other people on the team?
Radosz glanced at the resting workers of the set. Did they really care less about Brylski or were they afraid to ask about him?
Was the director really keeping them that short?
“Was Różycki very angry?”
Radosz asked this question casually. It came to him as he stared at the people on the set. He hoped the F/X guy involved in the conversation wouldn't even realize he was talking.
However, Mońka was wise.
“Show me a director who wouldn't be pissed off with an accident with the main actor on the set.”
Yes, there was something about it too. Whether out of concern for the actor's welfare or out of rage over problems, accidents on the set probably always upset the directors, or at least take him out of a good mood.
"Sure," Radosz laughed in response, although he was not at all happy. “And in general, not only when it comes to the stuntman, do you think that there will be something good from Brylski?”
"The boy is really ok," Mońka replied calmly. “He's making progress very quickly. It's just… No, whatever.”
Again, as when talking to the technician, the sentence broke off right at the beginning. It was as if these people wanted to say something, but something was holding them back.
Damian Radosz was getting fed up with it. Mońka gave the impression of a sincere, good guy, so this time Radosz said it straight.
“Różycki is too sharp for him.”
“How do you know?” The stuntman was surprised.
So it's true! Damn it!
“I guessed. I saw something here, I heard something there. Is it serious?”
Mońka gritted his teeth. He sighed.
“With all due respect, you have money, but Różycki has deals, and I have a dozen or so employees in my team.”
He didn't have to say any more. He has already said everything. Różycki did what he wanted on the set, because people were afraid that if they were on his radar, the guy would destroy their career in the industry.
It seemed that on the set of this series the director was first after God, and seeing that people did not hesitate to commit sins for him, he was perhaps even before God.
***
So the situation was bad. More and more clues indicated that Różycki had chosen Brylski an inexperienced actor, as a victim. Why did he do it? It didn't really matter. It was important that the young actor, instead of focusing on his work and good performance of the role entrusted to him, had to deal with all the difficulties that the director provided him. The situation became so serious that it could even cost Rafał his life.
The face of the young actor stood vividly before the eyes of Damian's imagination. It was a curious face that at times seemed captivatingly beautiful, sometimes almost ordinary, but always exceptionally attractive, like the face of someone with a good heart. Perhaps it was this slightly childlike innocence that gave Brylski this unusual charm.
A lamb, a sweet little lamb indeed, too innocent to recognize and defend against true evil.
Damian, actually like a sheepdog, wanted to protect Brylski, not because he was a very important part of his production. He just felt in his heart that he had to protect that sweet innocence.
Radosz planned to conduct a diligent investigation, but it seemed that the whole plan was under Różycki's total control, and it may take weeks or even months to find someone who would testify against him and provide incriminating evidence against him. People who knew very well that Różycki was more powerful in this industry than Radosz would not easily want to mess with a powerful director for someone like Rafał who was outside of their circle.
Who knows what Różycki will do with Brylski during this time, especially since Damian will not be able to be here all the time. After all, he had other interests, and he could not devote all his attention to just this one project. So Radosz had to shorten his investigation. So he decided to talk to Różycki now.
Of course, for the sake of production, Damian will have to play the role of a diplomat, but he must make it clear to the director that he should not touch Brylski.
Radosz headed towards the trailer that belonged to Różycki. Earlier, he had seen the director make his way towards her, and it did not surprise him at all. He too had the right to seek refreshment for himself. The designated ten-minute break was just about to end, so Damian will not interfere with his rest, but he will have the opportunity to talk to him for a while before Różycki joins the team. Certain words were better said in private.
It was hot, it was so fucking hot that although Radosza had a rather unpleasant conversation before him, he was glad to be able to conduct it in the air-conditioned conditions provided by the trailer. He had already reached out to knock when he heard a strange, slightly muffled groan.
Damien's hand froze halfway to the door. The groan repeated, and now it was more like a gasp. The noises sounded disturbingly… erotic.
Radosz frowned. His hand dropped. Disgust filled him.
No, Damian did not detest sex, but there was place and time for everything to paraphrase the Ecclesiastes. The film set, namely the ten-minute break in the shooting, was certainly not a time or place for any erotic excesses. Różycki really felt like a god here.
“I love your deep throat” Radosz suddenly heard a muffled comment. “Shit, baby, swallow...”
Okay, it was a scene that Damian definitely didn't want to be a deliberate or accidental witness, so he turned on his heel and flushed as much with the heat as with embarrassment that he had witnessed such a scene, and walked decisively towards the slowly gathering teams.
The director may have left a lot to be desired as a human being, and perhaps even as a professional, but at least the people on set knew their job well and by ten minutes they were all ready. Even Marzenka Skierska was ready to start shooting.
Wait a minute, Marzena was here, not in the director's trailer? Then who was Różycki fucking on the mouth?
No, it not only didn't matter, but Damian really didn't want to know. It was enough for him to know that he had made a mistake in hiring this man to direct his series. A bug that needed to be fixed in some way.
But contracts were not easy to break.
