"Where is Lee Ann and Sam?"
"They asked for personal time," Curt replied, distracted with his paperwork.
"I am off to bed."
"I'm almost done with these reports. Keep my spot warm."
Tomorrow was their last day in Iraq. While Curt was busy she had written a few letters - one to Haleema and one to Sally van der Walt. She had so much to share with these two women and poured her heart into the emails, their constant encouragement and support encouraging.
Today her replacement took over. A brilliant woman full of laughter and a positive attitude. She had all the requirements needed. The soldiers were in excellent hands.
This gave her time to pack and do her last rounds. The four months at camp held a special place in her heart. She learned to trust God and found the peace she searched for all her adult life. She made wonderful friends and got married. She sighed.
