As we are now

"...I stopped breathing the moment you recognized me

As you captured my soul with your gaze"

~ Christy A Martine

The dress code for work was to look smart, to be smart. Once she reached the door step of Venus cafe, she would shed off her loose black garment and settle for the uniform she was assigned since her first day of work.

It was a short sleeved blue T-shirt with a cursive logo V embroidered at the back. She supplemented a pseudo sleeve for the rest of her hand meant to be bare, it was black outlining her thin arms. Beneath the shirt was a fade blue jean tucked roughly around her waist with a belt, folded twice for the length to be perfect for her. Her head was wrapped in plain black veil that kept spilling to her face and she had to adjust every second till she gave up, leaving the veil haphazardly framing her oval face. She didn't feel like she was smart in the dress, only if she could have convinced her employer to allow her retain her black garment on it.
