Chapter 04:Accepting Her Fate

As the clock struck midnight, Sarah's mind begin to spin, with the thought of her departure which she's was not sure when, her heart pounded loudly underneath her chest, remembering her father's words

"no matter what comes your way in life honey, you must learn to embrace with good fate" those were his exact words

Sarah's shoulder dropped as she came to terms to accept her fate, she waited patiently, for dawn so she could speak to her mom.

As soon as it clocked seven o'clock, knowing fully well her mom would be fully awake by now, having taken her bath earlier, she walked gracefully into her mom's master bedroom without knocking

"Good morning mother!" Sarah greeted with a smile, as she approached her mom, who stood facing the mirror

"Good morning my child! how was your night"?" Genevieve asked turning to look at her with a cute smile flashing on her face

"Very good mother" Sarah replied and continued "mother I'm ready to embark on my journey" Sarah said nervously looking at her mom.

Hearing those words Genevieve's shoulder dropped, she knew Sarah was going to leave, but she just wasn't expecting it so soon, how would she survive alone in this cold and wicked world, Genevieve's heart skipped on the thought of something bad happening to her only child, she wouldn't be able to bear, should she cancel the task on her behalf? she thought but "no!" its a family rule that must be followed and respected and most of all she made her Rupert a promise and she wouldn't dare not fulfill them, she was lost in thought that she didn't hear Sarah calling out to her

"Mom! mom! mom are you okay?" Sarah asked worriedly as she tugged on her mom, Genevieve regained composure and put up a forced smile

"Good! very good my dear! you've just made a good decision for yourself and the family" Genevieve said with tears welling up in her eyes, she was trying to hide her pains

"I'm willing to learn and I will make our wealth mean something, Mother," Sarah declared. "I will use it to create a world where socioeconomic disparities are diminished, where opportunities are accessible to all, remembered dad's words clearly, he asked me to face anything that comes my way with good fate and I'm willing to face this resilience without fear" she said smiling faintly, tears rolled down Genevieve's eyes, she couldn't hold back her emotions any longer

"When are you leaving?" she asked, her voice betraying her, Sarah could tell by the looks of things that her mother doesn't want her to leave but there was nothing she could do to change her fate

"On Monday!'' she replied looking for at her mom. Monday was only three days away, seeing her mom was reluctant about her going, she decided to leave on that day, so she could spend a little time with her

"I will ask the maids to prepare your things ahead" Genevieve said wiping the tears off her eyes, Sarah drew her into a warm embrace and whispered softly,

"Thank you, Mom. I promise I'll make you proud."

The days leading up to Monday were a whirlwind of emotions for both Sarah and Genevieve. Sarah spent every waking moment trying to absorb as much wisdom and guidance from her mother as possible. They would have long discussions about life, love, and the importance of staying true to oneself.

On Sunday evening, the entire household had gathered for a farewell dinner. The room was filled with bittersweet emotions as everyone knew that Sarah's departure was imminent. The conversations were mixed with laughter and tears, creating a surreal atmosphere. Sarah felt overwhelming support from her family, and it gave her the strength to accept her fate even more.

As the clock approached midnight, Sarah found herself alone in her room, surrounded by boxes waiting to be packed. She sighed deeply, realizing that tomorrow would mark a new chapter in her life. The weight of the expectations she bore felt heavy on her shoulders, but she was determined to face whatever challenges lay ahead.

Morning broke, and the sun's gentle rays filtered through her curtains, casting a warm glow over her room. Sarah stood in front of the mirror, adjusting her attire. She took a final look at herself and whispered, "You can do this, Sarah. Embrace your fate and make a difference."

With newfound resolve, Sarah picked up her bags and walked downstairs to join her family for breakfast. Sitting at the table, she felt a mixture of excitement and nervousness. They shared a hearty meal together, cherishing their last moments as a complete family before Sarah embarked on her journey.

As the clock struck 9 am, the chauffeur arrived at the mansion to escort Sarah to the airport. Saying goodbye was difficult for everyone. Tears flowed freely, but amidst the tears, Sarah saw the glimmer of hope and pride in her family's eyes.

With her bags in hand, Sarah walked towards the car, turning one last time to wave goodbye. Genevieve stood in the doorway, her eyes conveying a blend of pain and pride. Sarah took a deep breath, remembering her father's words once again, and stepped into the car.

Throughout the ride to the airport, Sarah's mind was filled with memories of her childhood, the love of her family, and the belief that she was destined to make a difference. She closed her eyes, feeling the wind caressing her face, and silently accepting her fate.

As the plane took off into the sky, Sarah couldn't help but smile.
