Auction

As they walked through the lively streets filled with colorful market stalls, they saw all kind of People.

While merchants shouted their wares, children played in the cobblestone squares, carriages transporting goods from one place to another.

From time to time one could see groups of guard patrolling the streets, securing the order in the capital.

However, due to his illusion spell no one could recognize Amon all they would see was a good-looking young man dressed in an expensive looking black robe adorned with golden lines, who was followed by a young blonde maid.

As they went on with their little trip through the city they saw a crowd forming before a luxurious building.

Curiously, Amon walked towards the commotion, looking for a reason why all those people gathered here.

Walking through the growing crowd, Amon and Sophie soon reached the end of it and saw the entrance of a magnificent auction house.

A banner fluttered in the wind, displaying the words "Auction House."

Looking at that banner Amon thought 'This could be interesting, maybe I find something I want here, the prince stored more than enough money in his chamber, so I should be able to afford anything.

And even if not, I could probably just steal it.

Luckily I took my royal insignia with me, otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to easily join, besides sneaking in and stealing things would be pretty boring.'

Walking towards the entrance, two big man carrying spears crossed them to prevent them from entering.

One of them spoke to them in a respectful tone, "I'm sorry sir we need to see an invitation from everyone who wants to enter today, otherwise I'm afraid I can't let you pass."

These guards here probably had to deal with a lot of people of high standing, so after seeing the clothes he wore and the maid following him, they most likely concluded that he was an important person and dealt with him as respectful as possible. Amon just replied to him with a smile taking out his royal insignia and showed it to the guard talking to him before saying

"I don't have an invitation, but I have this little thing here go tell someone I'd like to get an invitation"

After recognizing the insignia the guards immediately bowed towards him while the guard who spoke earlier said

"Of course you can participate just go in and wait for a few moments I will notify someone who will bring you to your seat your Highness."

Even though the guard didn't recognize Amon he knew that only the royal family had these insignias, so after escorting Amon inside the entrance hall he immediately left, calling the one in charge of the auction.

Left alone in the entrance hall, Amon and Sophie looked around the hall. There were a lot of people gathered here, all of them wearing expensive clothing, waiting for someone to escorts them to their seats.

This made it clear that the auction he just entered could be considered as a high class event.

Not even a minute passed before Amon saw a short and burly man dressed in colorful and expensive clothing wearing all kind of jewelries who hurriedly walked towards him. When the burly man arrived in front of Amon he bowed towards him and said slightly out of breath

"Hello your Highness my name is Midas and I am the owner of this auction house. May I be allowed to ask of your name?"

Looking at the strange looking little man, Amon just replied in a slightly threatening voice,

"My name is Amon Kingsley, I used an illusion spell to change my appearance slightly so no one bothers me, and I'd like to keep it that way."

Hearing that the face of Midas suddenly paled, naturally he knew who Amon Kingsley was, furthermore he didn't even consider that someone would dare to impersonate the crown prince just to attend some auction.

At first, he thought that just some member of the royal family wanted to attend the auction, but the crown prince being here was a completely different story.

He immediately bowed again while saying nervously "Please follow me your Highness, I will prepare the best lounge for you."

Amon just nodded and followed him into a luxurious lounge, from which one could see the entire hall where the auction took place. When they arrived, Midas shortly explained then the rules of the auction before hurriedly leaving Amon and Sophie alone in the luxurious lounge.
