The night air hung heavy with tension as Jin-Ho faced off against the two thugs in the dimly lit alley. Their confusion was palpable, their eyes narrowing in disbelief.
"How the hell? You don't even know how to properly punch before. What the hell happened?" one of the thugs spat out, his disbelief tinged with a hint of fear.
Jin-Ho remained silent, his mind racing. With newfound confidence coursing through his veins, he seized the moment.
In an instant, he launched a jab with incredible speed, a straightforward punch using his lead hand.
It connected with one of the thugs, catching him off guard. The impact was swift and powerful, sending the thug stumbling backwards.
The thugs were left dumbfounded. They couldn't comprehend how Jin-Ho had transformed from an awkward fighter to a skilled combatant in an instant.
Jin-Ho, on the other hand, marveled at the effectiveness of his newfound abilities.
"Wow... I realize on how this body is nice for fighting," he thought to himself. "While it might not be perfect like Daniel Park, I still have a system. I think my system has a leveling-up kind of mechanism. Well, I will find it out after I finish both of these thugs."
He didn't hesitate to use the jab again, this time targeting the remaining thug. The punch was lightning-fast, leaving the thug unable to react in time.
It was a revelation for Jin-Ho – a testament to the power of his system.
In a fit of rage and frustration, one of the thugs launched an uppercut in Jin-Ho's direction. It was a powerful strike, but Jin-Ho's enhanced reflexes and agility allowed him to gracefully avoid the attack.
He felt a strange sensation, similar to before, as a voice echoed in his mind, "The System has successfully copied the attack."
Once again, he sensed an electric current running through his body, as though he was absorbing something vital. It was an exhilarating feeling, one that fueled his determination.
As the last thug rushed at Jin-Ho, fueled by desperation, Jin-Ho acted swiftly. He executed a jab, and then, with a fluid sidestep, he delivered a perfectly timed uppercut.
The thug's eyes widened in shock as the blow landed. He crumpled to his knees, unconscious.
The remaining thug, overcome with a sudden chill of fear, turned tail and fled, leaving his fallen comrade behind.
Jin-Ho wasted no time. He quickly made his way to the terrified girl, her eyes wide with a mix of relief and gratitude.
"Hey... Are you alright?" Jin-Ho's voice was gentle, his concern evident.
The girl nodded, her voice trembling. "Yeah... They were just gonna do something bad to me... But thank god you came!"
Jin-Ho offered a reassuring smile. "You know, Ma'am, you should not be going outside at this time of night. It's really dangerous."
The girl's voice quivered as she spoke, still shaken by the encounter. "Yeah... It's just that I really needed to do something... After I was done, I was ready to go home, but the two thugs stopped me..."
"Alright," Jin-Ho said, determination in his eyes. "Let me get you home safely."
Together, they walked through the quiet streets, the girl named Christine sharing snippets of her life along the way. They found common ground, and the conversation flowed easily.
When they arrived at Christine's house, she turned to Jin-Ho, gratitude filling her eyes. "Thank you!"
Jin-Ho smiled warmly. "You're welcome, Christine. Take care."
As he watched her enter her home, a sense of fulfillment washed over him. He knew he had made a difference tonight.
With a final goodbye, he turned and made his way back to his own apartment.
On the journey back, Jin-Ho couldn't help but be amazed by the newfound abilities he possessed. It was as if a whole world of possibilities had opened up before him.
Finally, he reached his apartment and settled in, the events of the night still fresh in his mind.
He felt a sense of contentment wash over him as he drifted into a peaceful sleep.
