"Men's cologne and chocolate?"

Cloey looked around the house and started to panic, "Oh my god someone broke in here!"

I brought the blue blanket to my nose. Other than yogurt, it smelled a lot like men's cologne and chocolate? Well that's a weird combination.

Cloey walked around mumbling to herself like a mad woman before shouting, "You need to move far far away from here. I have an aunt that lives in Antarctica, whoever's after you won't find you there."

Antarctica?

Why does she have an aunt living in Antarctica? I'm not really that surprised to be honest, she even has an aunt living in the Amazon.

Before I could protest, Cloey dashed upstairs to what I assumed was to my room. Knowing her, she's probably packing my things as we speak. Why does she have to be so overdramatic all the time?

I'm not comfortable with my house being intruded by some random guy but he hasn't made a serious move yet, so I'm going to find a way to catch him before he gets bored playing Mr. Nice Guy.

I was about to climb the stairs when I heard my name.

"Katie?"

I looked around and it felt like a huge weight left my body when I saw that it was her. Though I was still feeling slightly weak, I ran over to her and hugged her small frame, "Abuela, estás bien?" (Grandma, are you okay?)

"I'm the one that should be asking you that." She pulled out of my embrace and looked me up and down, "Look at you, you're all bandaged up. What happened?"

We both sat down in the couch, "I'll tell you that later. Where have you been?"

She refused, "No, tell me what happened first." Grandma was just as stubborn as I was so we'd be going in circles for hours if I was in the mood to argue. I gave in and summed up most of what happened and told her.

She pulled me into a hug, "Oh my darling, you could've died. How would I even live if something happened to you? Your mother would certainly not be at peace."

I pulled away from her and looked her in the eyes, "Now tell me, where have you been? She shrugged with a smile, "I went out drinking with some friends, I got a bit drunk so I stayed the night at their place."

What friends?

"If you're going to lie to me, you have to at least come up with something better than that." She sighed, "Fine, I'll tell you the truth."

She looked away and a small blush colored her wrinkled cheeks, "I went to meet a guy?"

My eyes widened at her confession, "A guy?"

Could it be the guy that called earlier?

She nodded and held her cheek in her hand, smiling like a lovesick teenager, "Yes, I met him a few weeks ago. He stole my heart at first glance." She went on and on about the guy she supposedly "met" while out shopping.

I looked at her suspiciously as she basically ran to the kitchen claiming to fetch water. For some reason, I still had a feeling she was lying. I tried to convince myself that her story was true but something just didn't seem right.

"Katherine Olivia Martinez, get in here right now!"

My hand clasped over my mouth and I whispered to myself, "Shit, the cake." I took a few deep breaths. Yep, this is it, I'm going to die. I slowly made my way to the kitchen, thoroughly prepared for the mouthful I was going to get.

"Grandma I-"

I was cut off by her body engulfing mine in a soft embrace. She pulled away with a bright smile but question marks were dancing about in my head.

"What did I do?"

Grandma playfully hit me on the arm, "Don't play dumb Katie, I know you baked this for me." I tilted my head to the side, "Baked what?" She can't be talking about the abomination I baked earlier.

I looked behind her and saw a beautifully decorated chocolate cake on the table. My grandmother giggled, "I had no idea you could bake!"

She jumped up like a little kid, "We don't have to buy from that expensive baker anymore!"

'My Love' was written in bold red on the top of the cake followed by an equally red heart. A frown formed on my lips.

My love? It was definitely him, I was sure.

Cloey ran down the stairs and joined us in the kitchen, "Granny you're back?" My grandmother smiled and dragged Cloey towards the table to show her the cake, "Isn't it beautiful? Katie made it."

Cloey looked at me, "I didn't know you could bake."

Pulling her into a corner, I looked behind me to see if Grandma was still preoccupied with the cake. I spoke in a whisper, "I didn't bake that." Cloey's eyebrows came together in confusion, "What do you mean? If you didn't bake it, who did?"

"I'm honestly not sure but I think it's the stalker."

"What?!" Cloey raised her voice. She took a glance at my grandmother before speaking in a whisper, "'What?"

My voice got even lower, "Think about it, everything just adds up. I had the blanket on even before you got here which means the stalker was here earlier and the same words he saved himself as in my phone was written on the cake."

Is he intentionally dropping clues or something?

"How did he get your phone?"

"I found the stuff I left in front of the Wicked Bunny on my bed two days ago. Then, I got a phone call from someone saved as 'My Love'. I answered the phone but no one said anything so I hung up."

Cloey ran her hand through her hair, "We need to call the cops." I held her wrist, "No, we don't have anything solid on him yet."

"Don't you have his phone number?"

I sighed, "My phone broke."

She looked at me worriedly, "But what if...he tries to hurt you or worse, tries to talk to you?"

I narrowed my eyes at her, "How is talking to me worse?"

My grandmother slung her arm over our shoulders, "What are you chicas (girls) talking about so quietly over here?" We both plastered a smile onto our faces and spoke in unison, "Nothing."

"Grandma, can I talk to you for a bit?"

She smiled, "Sure, what about?"

"Let's talk in the living room."

With a nod, she made her way to the living room ahead of me. I turned to Cloey, "Get rid of the cake. It could be drugged or poisoned." Cloey nodded, "Ok but what will we tell your grandmother?"

"We'll worry about that when it's all over with."

As I was about to walk away, Cloey grabbed my arm, "Are you going to tell her about all this?" I shook my head, "No, I'm going to tell her the truth about Hannah." Her eyes widened in shock, "Are you sure? What if she...you know...start going crazy or something?"

I sighed, "Then we find someway to handle her." With that, I left her to dispose of the cake and went over to sit beside my cheery grandmother. I held her hand and she looked up at me with a confused look on her face, "Is something the matter?"

I took a deep breath, "I have something to tell you."

She clasped her hand over her mouth, "Are you pregnant?" I rolled my eyes, "No, I'm not pregnant." A look of disappointment washed over her face, "You're already 25 and almost 26 Katie, you should really consider settling down and starting a family."

As if it was that easy.

"Abuela not this again. I told you, I'll settle down when I want to." She shrugged, "I'm just saying." I sighed, "Anyway."

As I spoke, I looked directly into her brown eyes, "Hannah...she's gone."

Unexpectedly, she burst out in laughter, "I know."

She knew?

Does that mean she realized what she told me before wasn't a dream? She's taking it surprisingly well.

Grandma ruffled through her jeans pocket and took out a piece of paper. She then handed it to me, "Hannah left this on the fridge yesterday morning."

My eyes widened as I stared at the words written perfectly in Hannah's handwriting.

How the fuck is this possible?
