Chapter 6 - War begins...

** Chiba Eichi's Point of View **

"Haha! The plan is going swimmingly! By next year, we should be ready to declare war with the elves."

"Uh... General? How are we supposed to beat the elves? They have more firepower than us."

I have that same question, but the real question is why to go to war with the elves in the first place. Man, these nobles and this General are dumb. I know the consequences of agreeing with him, but I wished the King was a bit more assertive.

"Huh, are you dumb? We overpower them in numbers, duh! It might take fifty of us to destroy ten of them, but we have way more numbers! Plus, we been preparing for an extra year. They won't have enough time to get more reinforcements, so it's our victory right from the start."

Then the General turns to me. "Plus, we have the greatest strategist in the Kingdom! Isn't that right, Eichi?"

I just smile back at him and nod. Everyone around claps afterward. One thing this guy is an expert on is how to manipulate everyone. I mean, he's showing off a keen user to rally everyone up.

In truth, there is only a handful of people who believe that they are superior. The majority are high-influential people and nobles. I have been ordered by the King to take care of some of these nobles and high-influential people. Everything was going smoothly until the General stepped up with an idea.

The General has been trying for years to use this superiority to declare war on the elves; however, he kept failing due to no one supporting him. This kept happening until he came up with that idea.

Resources are finite, and our Kingdom has been short on resources for years. We have been getting by, but only barely. The General used this to declare war. 'If we defeat the elves, we'll get their land and resources!'

Most of the nobles were in favor of the General after he gave this idea. The King was still not fond of the concept; however, with so many nobles agreeing, he had no choice but to accept.

Thankfully, if we lose the war, then the General will pay for his crimes; however, we will lose great resources. True, the King wants the General gone but not if the price of casualties. If we win, we'll be in the eye of everyone and be branded as enemies of any other elves tribe.

Suddenly the door bust opens. "General! Everything is set. Should we send the envoy now?"

"Hmm... No. We'll wait another month and then send them. Make sure the envoy does have information about the war in the den of the Blue Devil in a year."

"Understood!"

The man who interrupted us salutes and then takes his leave.

"Haha! Now, all we have to do is wait..."

Man, I don't know what to expect any more...

** Imai Akuma's Point of View **

A year has passed since meeting Ken. Since then, I've been training with a strict regiment. In the morning, I'll start with stretching and then do 2,000 push-ups, 1,000 jumping jacks, 500 arm circles, 750 crunches, and 500 situps. I'll then finish the morning with a 100-kilometer run.

At the start, this regiment took me a whole day to complete, but now it takes only half the day. That 100 km run especially took forever to complete. Each day, I try to beat my last record on that run. Currently, it takes me 30 minutes to finish the run at a speed of 200 kilometers per hour.

At noon, I've been reading my books and practicing magic. Today is no different. I have just run the 100 km, beating my record by ten seconds. I teleport to my cave; however, after I teleported home, my eyes widen to the sight of my home.

...

The entire cave is missing, nothing remained. The ground has burnt marks and shows that an explosion occurred recently. What happened?!

I could feel my blood rush, and my anger rise. Who the crap would destroy my cave! My home, where I have spent a year living here. Why! Where am I going to live now?

As my anger increases, my ears pick up on a conversation about a km away.

"Ha! What a joke. I told you such a being never existed."

"Right you are. There was no sign of any life in that cave. No devil, no furniture, no nothing!"

"Heh... I wonder if the guild will pay us extra with the truth on the devil?"

...

Who are these heartless people? Why would you destory someone's house out of curiosity? Those... I WILL DESTROY THEM! I KILL THEIR ENTIRE FAMILY, NO! I KILL THEIR ENTIRE KINGDOM!

I could see my body glowing blue, but I didn't care. My anger prevented me from thinking clearly. All I was thinking about is the death of those monsters. I turn to look in the direction of the voices. I could see them. They're humans...

I could also sense a big group nearby. Judging by the sound and smell, it seems like a war is going on between... Humans and Elves? Oh, well. I don't care. I'll I want to do is to destroy those humans! Maybe I should kill that human army too. That'll show them not to mess with me.

I leap five meters in the year and start flying toward the fight.

...

** Endo Ken's Point of View **

"Heh. I was surprised that you would agree to the council's request, Ken."

"Well, the decision wasn't easy, but I'm the only one who knows of what the Blue Devil is capable of. If I can save lives, I'll gladly serve. That's why I joined the military in the past anyway."

"Heh! Well, I trust you. Truth be told, I don't believe in that legend, but if you say he's real, then I'll trust you."

"Thanks, General."

Right now, we're in the middle of a war with the Ruland Empire. Trusting your comrades is what you need for a victory, and it shows. We have been on the winning side for quite a bit; however, it seems like our numbers are dwindling.

"Hmm... What do you say are our chances right now, General?"

"Heh... As of right now, we'll lose all of our numbers in about two or three hours. We out powered them at the start, but they have too many numbers. If I have to estimate, they have about 50,000 men vs. our 1,000. I don't think this is all of their men too. I bet they have another 50,000 or so in reserve. This Empire is one of the largest Kingdom in this world."

I nod to him. What should we do? If the tier one General is saying that we're going to lose, then what can we do? As I thought this, a bluish blur flies in the sky and crashes down onto the ground, landing in the center of the battlefield.

The impact creates immense shockwaves that send our men backward; however, it seems like the shockwave is killing the human side instead of pushing them back. Around 3,000 of the humans who were in the center were killed in the impact.

After the shockwaves settle down, I look at the person who caused this. I froze when I saw the figure.

"Isn't that..."

This chapter is now revised. I'm trying to hurry and finish revising but it going to take a couple of more days. Sorry! This chapter has changed a bit!
