Chapter 7 ~ Anthony

The next day I was sitting with Sue. We were watching some of the boy's play basketball. Including Derrick so Liza was here too. She was also very pissy because Derrick put in for her to be moved back to her pack. so she was also going on about that and pissing off everyone who was in the near vicinity.

"I can't believe he left me for her. She isn't even pretty. She's ugly as hell and pasty as fuck." I growled and Sue put her hand on my arm to tell me to calm down. Then she whispered to me,

'Just remember, she's leaving this afternoon. Then we don't have to deal with her anymore." I nodded but sighed in annoyance. I just wanted her gone, soon.

'As long as she is gone soon I don't care. I just want her out of our pack as quickly as possible.' She nodded in agreement. Today I've found out that no one here actually likes her.

"Hey Mellissa! Guess who's here!" When I heard Ace call to me I got up at the same time Derrick looked over and timed out the game.

We both started to walk over to the driveway where the car that I knew to well was sitting there with my best friend leaning against it.

"Anthony! You're finally here!" I ran over to him and jumped up into his arms happily. Derrick growled at us but anthony ignored him and I whispered in Anthony's ear.

'A lot changes in one day. You were right and please don't say I told you so.'Anthony smiled as he sat me down and nodded and once I was down I walked back into Derrick's arm.

"So you're Derrick. I've heard a lot about you from Emmy" Anthony smiled and Derrick Nodded and smiled back.

"Yes I am. I've heard a lot about you too. Mellissa has been very excited about you coming over." He smiled and grinned.

"Yeah I've been excited too. I haven't seen her in so long." I nodded in agreement and Derrick nodded.

Derrick was obviously not happy about this. He stayed tense the whole time and wouldn't relax. Not even once. Plus he didn't say anything the entire time. He just followed and let us talk to each other. I couldn't help but call him out on it too.

"Hey babe. you've been awfully quiet lately. Why don't you join in on the conversation." He looked at me and rolled his eyes at me.

"I figured I'd just let you two catch up. Didn't want to bug either of you by jumping in." I blinked in surprise and Anthony rolled his eyes.

"You're fine love. You can jump in whenever you want. we don't mind you input on anything we talk about." He nodded but I had a feeling that he wasn't going to talk still so I kept pushing.

"I don't want you to feel like you can't talk with us. You have every right to talk to us too. you are sitting here with us so I want you to talk to. Please." He sighed but turned to face us and wraped his arms around me.

"ok, ok. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you think I would leave or something. I am having fun with you guys. I just didn't want to jump in and ruin your time together." I smiled at him.

"I promise you're not bothering us. and we will have plenty of time to catch up. He's not leaving anytime soon. Right?" I looked at Anthony and he smiled at me.

"I'm here as long as you want me here emmy."I smiled happily.

"I will always want you around but not as much as I want my mate around." Derrick grinned at that. and Anthony chuckled.

"I know that feeling. I always want my mate around me too." That was the first time Derrick relaxed. Probably because I never got the chance to tell him that. He was so busy yesterday that I was only really able to tell him enough for him to know the basics about him.

"Yeah you two are almost inseparable. Where is anaconda anyway?" He sighed and frowned sadly.

"He had to go to work today. He said he'd be able to come with me tommorow but today he had to go in and deal with stupid people."I frowned.

"How long have you guys been here? It takes at least a week to find a job and find out if you get it." He rolled his eyes at me. But Derrick spoke up thankfully.

"He's the one we just hired. We've been asking him for a while now to join us but he only just agreed. It was weird to me that after asking for months that he finally agreed." Derrick smiled and Anthony nodded.

"Yeah. So he had a job when we got here yesterday. He started today and is working till tonight. which sucks but It's money in his pocket." I sighed and Derrick nodded.

"It's always a give and take in life. Like today I have off but tomorrow I have to go in and do paperwork and I have a million meetings. I also have a bunch of emails and other things I have to do. It's going to be exhausting." I frowned sadly.

He had told me this morning that he'd have to go in tomorrow so he needed me to do the pack work which was a first for me and he was gonna have Camille, his mom, help me figure it out.I was still worried about it though.

"Yeah and that's the thing about it. It sucks but you can't change it. No matter how much you want to." I nodded sadly to him and Derrick pulled me closer.

"I know. Mellissa doesn't like to talk about this though. Can we please talk about something else please. Before she starts to cry." Anthony nodded and smiled at me.

"Ok so how about we talk about how your day has been. I haven't been able to talk to you yet about that."I sighed and looked at Derrick.

"Can I please tell him? I usually tell him everything." Derrick sighed but nodded in agreement. I relaxed and looked at Anthony.

"Ok so you need to know that there's a lot to take in at once. I'm actually still trying to sort it out." He nodded and Derrick started telling him what was going on. Once Derrick was done telling him what happened Anthony sat there for a little bit then got pissed.

"So not only does she have two other mates, but they are also trying to use her and because of that you were ignoring her in order to protect her." Derrick nodded to him and he sat there for a while.

Since I knew him I knew he was getting pissed off. He was very protective of me. He had a right to be as well, after everything we've been through together. But I had to jump in before he decided to try and hunt them down and kill them or before something else happened.

"Hey, It'll be ok. We are going to find a way to stop them and there is no way they will get to me. Derrick has made sure of that." He looked at me and nodded but he was still fighting to calm down.

"I trust that you will protect her but still I can't let her get hurt. We've already gone through too much hell and she doesn't deserve to go through any more. Especially since she already dealt with thinking you hate her she doesn't need the other two hurting her as well." Derrick frowned and tightened his arm around me.

"So what are you planning on doing? The council has already demanded she stay here and you can't take her away. That's going against the council's wishes. They will make you bring her back. Plus my dad is on the council so they would know immediately." Anthony shrugged. I knew he didn't really care if the council was ok with anything or not. He hated them anyway and so did I.

"I actually Really couldn't care less what they think. As long as I know that she's ok that's all I care about." Derrick growled at him.

"You think I don't want the same? The thing is that the only way to do that is to make sure there are a bunch of warriors around her at all times. Hence why she is safer here than anywhere else." Anthony rolled his eyes at Derrick.

"I can promise you she is safer with me than you. I could probably take down your entire army by myself. Hell she could probably take down your entire army." Derrick growled in anger now very pissed off.

"You wanna test that out?"Anthony smirked and nodded. While I shook my head at him trying to tell him to stop.

"Actually I would love to. I need to know how much they can actually protect her. To know whether or not it will give her enough time to run away from whatever danger may attack." Derrick glared at him while I sighed in annoyance.

"Follow me then. We will go to the training area." I groaned and reluctantly took Derrick's hand and let him pull me up while Anthony stood up.

"Sounds good to me." Then he whispered quietly so only I could hear him.

'I'm just making sure they can keep you safe. I will be more comfortable leaving you here if I know that you will be safe enough to get out if you need to.' I rolled my eyes and answered just as quiet.

'I know they can. If I feel safe isn't that enough.' He rolled his eyes but didn't answer me and we walked to the training ground.

We got to the training ground and Derrick had everyone gather up. Well everyone but the ones on guard around the pack territory.

Anthony stood in the middle of the area and waited patiently. He was obviously bored as all could be. It was Stupid that he thought he needed to do this.

"So what's going on now? Why is everyone here?" I looked at Sue and sighed in annoyance.

"Because Anthony feels like he needs to make sure I'm safe and Derrick is pissed off with what he Just had to say. It's all pissing me off." She frowned and shook her head.

"You'd think that since Derrick has to run an entire pack, and basically an empire for money, That he'd have a little more patiance for stupid shit being said." I nodded to her and sighed.

"Yeah but obviously not. So now Anthony is gonna take on all of the pack warriors. Well most of them at least. The ones around the border are staying out of it luckily." She frowned and looked at me trying to figure out if I was serious or not.

"All of them at once?" I nodded and sighed.

"He can take care of himself. I know he can do it but the problem is he shouldn't have done this. I know the warriors can protect me but apparently he doesn't think so." She blinked and looked at me doubtedly but didn't say anything. She just turned towards the ring.

"I just hope Derrick doesn't decide to be the final warrior. That's usually what he does in these kinds of things." I looked at her in shock and immediate fear.

"Wait. What? He uses himself as the final fight? Please tell me you're kidding." She shook her head at me and shrugged.

"Not like he won't be able to take your friend on. He will be worn out if he's even able to fight through all of them." I stared at her then started speed walking over to the ring area.

"Hey where are you going?" Sue caught up to me quickly as I started to all but run.

"To find Derrick. He can't fight Anthony. If he does something bad will happen." She caught my arm.

"Too late they're starting." I looked at her in fear and then turned to look at where they were. Sure enough all the warriors were in there along with Derrick.

"SHIT!" I bolted over to the ring. You see, I knew how strong Derrick was compared to all the warriors. The warriors were nothing compared to him. If Anthony fight's Derrick he will black out and that won't be good.

I got up to the ring and some of the pack stopped me.

"Sorry luna. Alpha told us to keep you out of it." I stared at them and whimpered. Shit, shit, shit. I couldn't push past them because that would piss off Derrick but I needed to tell him.

"Please, I need to talk to him. I can't watch him fight Anthony. It'll drive  me insane." They looked at me apologetically but didn't move, making me whimper again and I had to try not to cry. Shit this wasn't gonna be good at all.

"Hey It'll be ok. Derrick is the strongest wolf here. Hence why he's the alpha." Sue rubbed my arm and I looked at her.

"I know that's not what I'm afraid of Sue. I trust Derrick is strong and that He won't hurt Anthony. I can't say the same for Anthony though." She looked at me frowning.

"What are you so worried about Emmy? They will be fine. It's not like it's to the death or anything." I started whimpering and crying.

"If what I think will happen actually happens then, for Anthony, It might end up being that way. I just hope if it does then I can get there in time." The pack near me was confused but I didn't say anything more, just reluctantly watched as he picked off the warriors one at a time.
