Let it Burn

Chapter 3

I'm bored, you know for someone who was raised around technology, once you get rid of it everything becomes stale. Except for the fact that I can now perform MAGIC!. You know watching anime or cartoons you always see talented magicians pull off the most ridiculous spells from just learning different branches of magic. Most of the time it doesn't even make sense from our perspective. I guess one of the perks of being a Devil is how we perform magic. We use our imagination with a sufficient amount of demonic energy to power the spell. The only thing that sucks is how limited the spells turn out to be. You can only create spells that are attributed to your current elemental affinity or inborn sin.

I found out recently that my inborn sin is Envy, I guess that makes sense. I always strived to be a better person whenever I saw someone have something I didn't. If you could lift more than me at the gym, I would double my training until I surpassed his record. The same thing goes for a lot of things now that I think about it. When an Inborn sin controls a devil they start to lose control of their demonic power, slowly changing shape until they become a demon. Highschool DXD would call that a Stray Devil, but since demons are a separate entity to Devils in this universe and this isn't really an anime anymore somethings are bound to change.

It actually makes sense, Demons are born from malevolence. While Devils were created by Lucifer when he stole gods book on how he created angels and reversed engineered it. The opposite of Light is Dark. That includes all that it entails, you could even argue that Devils are just fake Demons. When Lucifer used Lilith's flesh to create the current Pillar families, He pretty much used a god of creations DNA to achieve it. Since Lilith was created by god as his daughter. Her DNA had a different effect for each Devil that spawned from her flesh. That's why the Pillar Families all have different bloodlines even though they spawned from the same source.

However, Rizevim Lucifer ended up inheriting Lucifer's DNA without gaining anything special from his mother. This disappointed Lucifer because Lilith's DNA couldn't be passed down. Only the father's would be present during the conception of the child. Lilith also didn't have any control over the distribution of abilities. It was like playing a gacha game, without looking at a list of the rewards you could get. According to Tereaku this created a rift between the pair, since Lucifer attributed this to God pretty much giving him the middle finger.

Lucifer in his long life created Millions of devils with the help of Lilith, but only the beginning 72 actually gained a bloodline ability. The Extra Devils were born when the other Satan's helped out in their creation. This gave birth to 10 Devil's that gained a bloodline ability but weren't part of the original 72. Since all the Satan's helped out, those 10 Devil families now serve the current rulers of the underworld.

Now since our last meeting in the lake, 2 years have passed. I have been visiting that lake everyday working on my water and ice manipulation, along with water and Ice Magic. Every time I go to bed I close my eyes and reach out to the life force. Other than communicating with all sea life, I can communicate with any sentient being. The life force also allows me to sense my surroundings with a worthwhile boost to my water manipulation. Tereaku taught me how to use a Magic Circle to teleport. Along with appearance manipulation and mind control. Defensive Magic is pretty simple, it's really just a glorified sponge, feed it your demonic power in order to fortify it. I asked Tereaku for classes on how to use a sword and or a trident. She told me she would teach me when she felt satisfied with my magical progress. During those two years I was constantly shifting between my human and Leviathan form. It seems that my water based abilities are amplified when I switch over to my Leviathan form. I also gain magical resistance, thanks to my draconic nature. The downside is I'm susceptible to Light and Dragon slaying properties.

I am now in the Leviathan castle courtyard working on controlling Hellfire. Unlike my peerless affinity for water. My fire affinity is lacking in comparison. If I can be called monstrous when it comes to water. I would be called prodigious in my fire manipulation. It seems my draconic nature allows me to manipulate hellfire similar to the Phenex clan, without the added boost of immortality. Also let me tell you something, being a devil with ridiculous amounts of demonic power is bullshit. I can literally fuel a fire powerful enough to burn Japan many times over and have demonic power to spare. The only problem being, I can only really use my fire for destruction. I can barely manipulate more than a dozen shapes at a time. I am trying to figure out how to mix the life force with my flames, but they seem to be having compatibility issues.

Alright enough with the inner monologue, I lift my right arm while I pour a little bit of demonic energy on my palm as a flames starts to form. I slowly add more demonic energy and shape the flame into a simple spear. Once the spear is formed I start pushing in a lot of demonic energy until I see the spear start to destabilize. I quickly sprout my 6 pairs of wings and take off into the sky. When I reached a significant distance away from the castle I launched the spear into the air and watched it combust. All hell breaks loose, It feels like Earth's sun has decided to grace the purple sky with its presence.

Maybe if I leave no one will know it was me. Yes I decided then and there, That a early bath wouldn't be a bad idea.

"Ahhhhhhh"

Taking a warm bath is lovely, especially when said bath is bigger than your average sized pool. Too bad it's so far away from my room, granted teleportation just renders the distance obsolete. I close my eyes and just float on the water, without a care in the world. Until I suddenly hear boss music, I mean until I sense Tereaku through the life force. I open my eyes just in time to see Tereaku appear in the baths completely in the nude. She walks toward my location and slowly enters the large bath. After she sat down, she crossed her legs and just kept staring at me.

After a couple of minutes of silence, I decided to finally break the awkward atmosphere.

"Tereaku, didn't you say you wouldn't be back until later today" I said as I stopped floating and decided to face Tereaku.

"That was the plan, unfortunately I received news of a large amount of demonic power detonating above the castle. You wouldn't happen to have any idea who could have caused this, No?" said Tereaku as she crossed her hands under her breast.

"Sigh, Tereaku I happen you know who is responsible. He goes by the name of boredom. He is also a frequent visitor of mine, we tend to get along" I say as I slowly doggy paddle toward Tereaku.

Tereaku just stares at me until I'm right in front of her. She moves her right hand toward my face quickly grabbing my right cheek.

"Ow, could you stop tearing my face off Tereaku, I'll need it in the future" I say as I hold in the pain I'm being administered.

"Sigh, what am I going to do with you. Thanks to your stupid stunt the underworld now knows about you. Usually they can attribute large amounts of demonic power being used near here to myself. But since I was away in Lucifaad, they knew it couldn't be me" said Tereaku as she stopped pulling my right cheek and quickly grabbed my right arm pulling me into her bosom.

"The other Satans and Pillar Elders, wouldn't stop pestering me, Those ingrates always annoy me" said Tereaku as her arms tightened around my head.

"Sigh, Well be going to Lucifaad in a week's time to attend another of Lucifer's 'Gatherings', Make sure to make connections and don't show any weaknesses, especially to my daughter and the other Satan descendants. Hmm are you listening Rahbel" said Tereaku as she looked down only to see a passed out Rahbel.
