Staggering backwards, Rio found himself on the ground, his body completely immobilized and his limbs numb.
Fear began to build up inside him as he watched the giant Joble crawl towards him on all seven legs, its mouth opening up to devour its meal.
"Jess! Do something! Hurry!" Rio cried out desperately, a sitting duck for the monster in front of him.
"Don't move!" Jess reassured, racing towards the monster.
"No shit!".
With a single leap to the air, Jess landed directly on the back of the monster, legs steady despite how shaky the Joble was.
Being a fighter class Hunter, she knew combat like the back of her hand.
Using one hand, she grabbed the fur on the monster's back for steadiness and then using her second hand, she began shoving her spear inside its neck.
