Phone call

In her room, chewing on a dried squid Bae Eun-Ae answers her phone, "what?," her hands and eyes still glue to her computer screen.

"Can't you answer with a hello first?" Hae Jae-Hwa annoyingly replied,"always giving me this type of tone. I'm not liking it."

Bae Eun-Ae takes a big breath, "hello this is Bae Eun-Ae, how can I help you?"

There was a silence, Bae Eun-Ae glanced over at her phone to see if she was still on the call, "hello?... Hae Jae-Hwa?"

"Bae Eun-Ae, You €|£\£&@;&!"

Bae Eun-Ae was too stunned to speak, ".....are you drunk again?"

"Why aren't you here with us?"

"I have ton of homework to finish-"

"Like I don't have homework to do."

"What is it this time?"

"Hee-Young is here. Bragging about her boyfriend again—"

Cutting Hae Jae-Hwa off, Bae Eun-Ae advised, "Just let her be."

"You can say that because you're not here!!" Hae Jae-Hwa exploded.

Bae Eun-Ae coughed trying to change the topic, "Did you know who I saw today going home?"

"Don't care and don't know."

Having known Hae Jae-Hwa since childhood, Bae Eun-Ae was aware of her behavior best. If she doesn't satisfy her, this stubborn brat attitude won't go away, "...I'll go next time."

Hae Jae-Hwa's tone lights up, "You said it yourself."

"Yes…"

"Text it to me."

"What?"

"What you just said, 'I, Bae Eun-Ae will go to the next gathering'."

"ayy…There's no need."

"Going back on your words so soon."

Bae Eun-Ae let go a sigh, and texts what her friend wants and sends it, "There. Are you happy?"

"So who did you see?"

"I thought you didn't care."

"Hmm, I don't. But it is my duty to protect you from boys ever since you developed this weird disease back in high school of falling in love with any guy you see."

Bae Eun-Ae rolled her eyes, not falling for her teasing she ends the call, "BYE!"
