Episode 2 - Daily Time Together (7)

"Please remember these words. I said goodbye to yourself. All of you can go back to work."

Varest rose from his seat, leaving the private garden, and walked alone in the big hallway again. He feels bored. So he comes back to his room. But in that room, he was alone. He feels bored again.

He slammed his body into the bed, hiding his face with a pillow. The scent from the pillow is remind him of someone and he just remembered something. The place he sleeps right now is her room. He sleeping here because she was doing her duty.

The window curtains fly around because of the wind. Varest who still hides his face with a pillow can feel windblown. His heart was racing without realizing there is someone came to him.

"It's still daytime...what are you doing? You're still young, Young Master."

"Your Highness, isn't today's lesson has been completed?" Varest got up from his bed.

"Who told you that? Learning about being noble is done. Now you have to learn about defense. You will learn to use the sword, started today!"

"Learn to use a sword?"

They change clothes, simple outfits to work out. Now they are in a place of special exercises. The knights pay attention to them because curious about what they doing. Basil just takes a wooden sword, gives it to him.

"Look! It's your first time. Now swing the wooden sword five hundred times."

Varest immediately did what he was told. Five hundred times he swung the sword. He issued a lot of sweat.

His hands felt numb even hurt. Basil stated that today's training has been completed and allow him to get some rest.

"Thank you, Your Highness...?"

Basil suddenly on his knees and looked at his hand. "Get me some warm water." He asked the servant.

"I can do it by myself."

Lord Basil seem wanted to treat my wounds. Of course, I refused because it is not polite. His higher status to me.

"Vanessa will scold me if anything has happened to you."

Miss Vanessa would scold Sir Basil? Ha...?

"Come on...we must treat these injuries."

He's treating my wounds very carefully. When he treats it, the servants and the knights is doesn't believe what they seeing right now. Perhaps because Sir Basil looks friendly to a human.

It's been two weeks since I was here. Learning as a nobleman started because of her orders. Miss Vanessa is busy with her duty. Our meeting is only temporary. What is he doing at this moment? Is she alright? Just once...please just once, I want to see her again with more time. Because there's something I want to talk to her about.

"Varest, you're doing a good job to the servants. I see everything and give the servant punishment."

Basil had just finished treating his wound. He rose and, leave him alone. His words about the punishment to the servants. Varest was only silent because he did not understand until the servants and the knights suddenly give a bow.

"Oh..."

So is this supposed to mean? Is it not okay? I'm just a human being and they were forced to do it.

"Haaa..." He sighed.

At least I'm not going to get bad treatment anymore. It's time for me to rest. I need a bath of warm water. 

"Can you prepare me some warm water?"

The night has arrived. A small child, 12 years old cleanses his own body in the bathtub fragrant. He soothed his mind. He came out just using a cloth and wiping his hair. Hand in hand he opened the door, first, he didn't notice.

Because too focused on his wardrobe. He felt something staring at him. He turned around and found it...

"Waa! What...are you doing in here?"

"Hmm? What do you mean? I just leaned back on the couch."

The person who leans on the couch of his room is Basil.

"Never mind, take your clothes and sleep." He said while scratching his head.

"Should people knock on the door and asked for permission to come in?"

Basil didn't loan to any of his words. If he is not mistaken, this room belongs to Vanessa. For the sake of safety. Vanessa asked Varest to sleep in her room until she returned.

Varest only displays a confused face. Basil, was known as cold and ruthless. A knight who has to annihilate the enemy in a single attack. At this moment, Basil is just a child in Varest eyes. He could only shake his head.

"Your Highness, when Miss Vanessa will be back? Do you know something?"

Basil sleep next to him, answered. "She will be back soon."

Thank goodness she will be back soon. It's been two weeks since she went out from the Grand Duke mansion.

"Hey...If you can meet her. Speak politely to her. She will be asked about learning with me. Don't say anything weird things to her, okay?"

Do you mean...about the incident a week ago? You told me to take the book to the highest shelf. Instead, get the book, I fell and my feet get injured?

"Do you understand what I'm saying?"

"Yes, I understand."

Haha...his body trembled as he turned around. I don't believe he was so frightened by Miss Vanessa. I heard it from the servants. Miss Vanessa is so angry if people can't take their duty properly.

What's his name again? I don't remember. Hero twenty years ago. His name is...I totally forgot.
