Something big is coming.

On the 28th of December, there was going to be a press conference at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The common populace knew nothing of what this press conference convened, but it was obvious it was going to be about the misfortunes that had happened in the last quarter of 2024.

Presidents, prime ministers, and other government officials from every country were in the building now. Anyone watching the live feed could feel the pulsating tension that was rising in the meeting hall.

Despite the fact that the presidents and government officials had placed their interests behind them because of the imminent crisis, there was still that bad blood there.

The government officials were all seated according to their continents, so one could just see the tension in the assembly room.

The Koreans from both the North and South still had that touchable tension. The Chinese and Japanese also had similar tensions with themselves and the Koreans. The World War II scars could still be felt in them.

The Indians were watching these scenes with such rapt attention and also keeping an eye on the Pakistanis.

The Western part of the Asian continent just kept on keeping tabs on everyone present. They did not trust each other, as could be clearly seen here.

In Northern America, everyone seems to have left the decisions to the United States. So there was not much drama in that section, making it quite boring.

In South America, everything was quite on the edge because 2 of the biggest countries there did not see eye to eye. And those countries were Brazil and Argentina. It was the influence of Russia and the USA that was causing this problem.

But everyone decided to put that aside to let the mission flow successfully.

In Europe, everything was in chaos, as usual. One could feel the cold eyes the Western Europeans were watching the Russians with. But the Russians shrugged it off because they knew they could do nothing for them.

The Russians were confident because they were faring better compared to their Western European counterparts.

On the Oceania continent, they just did not care; after all, they were already living with dangerous creatures, so they were not bothered by anything that could threaten their lives.

Australia is that place that exposes you to the West and tropical lifestyle of this beautiful world. (Try visiting there to cool off some steam.)

In Africa, hmm, how should I say this? Almost all the government officials there were military personnel. There have been several coups d'etats since the resurgence of skyrocketing food prices.

Civil wars had broken out, terrorist attacks had become the frequent norm on the continent, and nothing was working there. Despite the fact that Africa could feed the world, it could not feed its people.

Over 58% of Africans are believed to be starving as this press conference is being held. The world elite who had traveled there did nothing to help the citizens but rather increased the suffering of Africans.

These even caused a lot of social vices among the lower class, which was causing a headache for the ruling governments. But with curfews, the riots and disturbances were being reduced significantly.

António Guterres went up to the podium and looked at everyone present, but he could not help but shake his head. How were they going to solve the problem, which was heading straight towards them?
