Legendary Unknown Game Developer

MC will wake up in a parallel world where technology flourishes. This parallel world has many Sci-Fi technologies such as virtual reality and artificial intelligence. The MC will receive the Game Developer System 1.0 and needs to accumulate Developer Points to buy many things in the system shop to produce better games. Not only that, MC can use Dev-Points to strengthen him. The parallel Earth will meet a Legend that no one will ever know, even with the Artificial Intelligence created in this parallel world. ..... MC is named Alfred Garrido, 50 years old, Asian, and Filipino. He is an old game enthusiast and dreamt of creating his very own RPG/MMORPG games, however, due to life experiences, his dreams never came to fruition, instead, he worked himself as a regular office worker. He likes to read business and game-related news, even at his current age. His wife left him due to his financial condition when he was 30 years old, they didn’t have any children. Since then, he never sought another partner and worked all the time as well as catering to his gaming hobby. Mocked by his family and friends, he lived alone in an apartment, with his computer and gaming devices as his companions. He slept after his 51st birthday’s last hour ticked off. He heard the alarm ring and woke up panicked. He thought he was late for work but when he woke up, he scanned the room and found that it was not his. There were posters of a man with steel hands. Some other posters were unknown to him. In an instant, he felt a headache all over his head and found that unknown memories were present in his mind that were not there before. He jolted for a few minutes and stopped. When he opened his eyes, he quickly assessed what was happening to him. “I think… I know this situation I am in!” he uttered. Yes, he guessed right, he transmigrated in a parallel world of himself! “God damn it! All the novels I’ve read were true!?” Alfred shouted. Unknown to him, his mother of the parallel world called him out. “Alfred! What are you shouting about!? Come down you’re late to school! I’ve work to do so you better be fast or I’ll slap your butt hard!” Alfred was surprised, his mother in this parallel world is alive!? “Wait…” Alfred thought that there must be something wrong so he went to the nearby mirror in his room and looked at his image. “What the fuck!? I’m young again! Wait… let me check the memories.” He closed his eyes and scanned the memories he just received moments ago. “I-… I’m back to my 7th grade!?” He stepped back a bit due to shock but pivoted firmly after a few moments. “I’m back!” Alfred clenched his fist hard and punched the air upwards. “I’m fucking back! I can re-do my life! Hahaha!” Alfred laughed his ass out and got his mother’s second and final warning. He quickly tidied his bed and went down to eat with his mother.

Back to Alfred.

//

He woke up the next day and excitedly opened his status window. When his eyes rolled on the status window and landed at the developer points, he was gobsmacked by the amount he garnered in just one night. He earned a total of 1,399.65 developer points!

And it seems to be increasing still!

"Now that I have lots of developer points, I need to shop for money!" he closed his status window and opened the developer shop, he scrolled the virtual screen and tapped the [MONEY EXCHANGE] category. It loaded in a millisecond and showed him the exchange rate, 1 Developer Points to 1,000 Credits.

"Hmm... my mom needs to pay 500 credits for rent, 300 credits for water and electricity, and lastly, my school fees worth 2,000 credits. A total of 2,800 credits!" he checked the bills they received beforehand so he knew them by memory.

He quickly exchanged 3 developer points with the system and his wristband lit up. He looked at the notification it showed and it says he received 3,000 credits. "Now... how do I make an excuse to my mom bout this money?" he racked his brain hard. No matter, there should be a legitimate reason for him to reason with his mother.

"How about I pay it without her knowledge?" he thought this was more safer than letting her know, but still, there might be new complications if he did this. "Wait... can the system pay it for me?"

[A NEW QUEST HAS BEEN GENERATED]

[GIVE THE MONEY TO YOUR MOTHER!]

[REWARD: +99 EXPERIENCE POINTS]

"What the hell!? Are you trying to kill me!?" Although he would level up if he did this, the repercussions of it all would be quite unworthy. "Right?" he furrowed his brows while trying to choose which path he'd select.

"ah.. fuck it, I'll let mom know and give this money to her." he pulled his wristband and tapped the transfer button. The credits were transferred from his account to his mom's and after a few minutes, he could hear his mother's voice, she uttered a loud expression "HUH!?????? ALFRED GARRIDO! YOU BETTER COME DOWN HERE OR I'LL WHIP YOUR ASS! YOU BETTER NOT TEST ME!"

"Damn. Fuck you system." he has no choice. He chose the experience points rather than saving himself from his mother's wrath. The only way he could take solace with it was to curse the system. The system didn't react though.

As he went down to their dining table, his mother berated him about where the money came from. Stuttering, he made an immediate excuse for his mother that he did some odd part-time jobs here and there with "some" people. With this, he went into a deep rabbit hole. His mother cried afterward. She couldn't believe her son would do such a thing for her, she felt she failed as a mother!

"Mom, no matter, we have the money. We can pay the bills. you don't need to pressure yourself, wait. I'm studying game development so, I'll create a game that can earn money! You just wait!" as soon as he said these words, he took the break on the table and ran off with his bag for school.

His mother was still crying. After he left, his mother uttered, "Thank you son. I love you..."

Back to Alfred.

After he went out, he checked the status window as the system updated him that he leveled up. Thus, when he sat on the rail transit car, he distributed his free points to strength, agility and intelligence. He didn't put a point in luck stat and his skills because he deemed it unnecessary for the meantime. He needed strength first, personal strength to survive!

[CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE BEEN REWARDED 50 EXPERIENCE POINTS FOR YOUR FIRST LEVEL UP!]

This was also the other notification he got from the system. Due to this reward, he would need a little less than 90 experience points before leveling up again. Aside from these, the same quest was generated for him as yesterday.

[A NEW QUEST HAS BEEN GENERATED]

[SURVIVE THE DAY!]

[REWARD: +10 EXPERIENCE POINTS]

He sighed on the little experience points he'd gain from just surviving the day. "How cheap!" he thought.

As he arrived in the school ground, he slipped through the crowd and reached his classroom. Again, he breathe in and out to make sure he's in condition to deal with the idiots. He opened the door and came in. However, he noticed that Kevin and his goons were low on energy. They didn't even take a glance of him entering. "What a weird scenario." he thought.

As he sat, he heard some classmates, about a new game that was making a great wave. "A game? Wait... ain't that my game?" he asked himself and the system confirmed it to him. He even heard that Kevin and his goons has failed multiple times in completing the standard difficulty due to the final monster they need to kill, which was the Licker.

He smirked in his mind thinking the faces these idiots made when fighting the Licker. "Hehe, I'd definitely waste some developer points just to watch that."

[HOST CAN VIEW THE RECORDING OF YOUR PLAYER'S IN-GAME PLAY.]

"I could?" surprised, the system confirmed to him that no need to pay, he just need to request it.

"Ah, speaking, I don't want to anymore. I might vomit while laughing watching them shit their pants." he sighed and shook his head a little.

The class started and a normal day finished in a blink of an eye. While preparing to leave the room, Kevin and his goons walked close to his desk threatening him for later as they were busy at the moment. "Probably about my game." he internally smirked not showing emotion in his face, he nodded at them.

"You will see!" Kevin added before they all left.

"Welp! You will see as well." he whispered. He left the room after a few minutes just to make sure these idiots left the school. It's not bad to be cautious, mostly in this part of the world.

He rode the rail transit and came home. This time, he didn't see any bills. "Mom should've paid them." he entered their apartment and changed his clothes. He opened his status window and saw a huge change in his developer points!

It was over 16,000+ new players and 15,000+ recurring players!

"System, what's the statistics?" he was curious about which difficulty the players were having a hard time because recurring players were matching the new players' count, which means people were repeatedly playing his games a lot!

[RESIDENT EVIL: RACOON CITY]

[REPLAYABILITY: 95%]

[MOST DIFFICULTY PLAYED: STANDARD, HARD AND EXPERT]

[COMPLETIONISTS: 12,560]

The report was finished and it made him shocked, the total number of players who completed the game was only amounting to more than 12,000!

"Which difficulties do these players play?"

[EXPERT: 5]

[HARD: 15]

[STANDARD: 100]

[ROOKIE: 12,440]

"Now I understand, of course, rookie is easy. Still, only a little more than a hundred completed the other three difficulties. Is my game really hard?" he asked the system.

[HOST HAS SET THE GAME'S QUALITY AND DIFFICULTY HIGHER THAN YOUR ORIGINAL WORLD'S GAMING LEVEL]

"Ah, right." he sighed and just shrugged off. He went down for dinner alone.

I wish I could focus on writing my novel 1,000% of the time.
