The beginning of a legend

'I don't remember how I died nor much before that except for the monsters, but, what I do know is that I'm in some weird dark space with a book floating in front of me'.

I walked towards the floating book while examining the space I was in, not that I could see anything else other than darkness but it wouldn't hurt be aware of the space I was in, after a couple of steps I arrived in front of the book and I reached out to touch it when my hand touched the surface of the book it flipped open to a page with words I couldn't read, it looked like a mix of hundreds of languages, the words slowly started to be comprehensible in the book, it read:

In your first life, you lived the best you could, or at least you tried to, but the world wasn't a kind place, you longed for companionship and you longed for the love you could never get, but in the end, you couldn't achieve your dreams and you failed, but what now, will you give up or will you take this chance and make the best you can out of your next life, or will it be a failure like the first?

I was amazed, the book described how I felt and how I still feel, but what about that chance?

I wanted to take it, I desperately wanted to get a chance to feel like how others do to feel love and friendship and experience them, as I thought about the words in the book a pen appeared in my hands and the book flipped its page again, and it read:

Choose your wishes wisely or you'll regret it!

The book left some space to write, exactly three lines of space which means I would get three wishes, I wrote my first wish, a pretty good one too, I want to be able to store beasts in my body and use their powers, my second wish, able to speak all languages, and my third wish an ever-growing source of power.

As I finished writing down my last wish the book started shining, shining bright enough to overpower the darkness around me and then it stopped, I couldn't see, feel, smell, or do anything it felt like I didn't even have a body, after staying like that for who knows long I started feeling like I was being crushed, I could 'feel', I could finally feel my body again! As I opened my the first thing I noticed was that there was a very bright light and when the light went away all I could see were blurry figures running around, sadly I couldn't hear anything only muffled voices which I couldn't comprehend.

After waiting around a day I could hear and see normally although I couldn't speak nor move my body that much.

And like that the first month passed filled with nothing but boredom and a lot of sleeping, but now I could roll around from my back to my belly easily, and I was ecstatic about it, but I wasn't happy with just rolling around so I started to use my hand to drag my body around although that was only after the third month I was there, and something I realized once I could move around was that my parent's house was huge like really huge around a 100 rooms or something so I think we're either rich or incredibly important probably both and another thing was that I was a lot stronger than a normal baby's not that I was that strong but I could probably walk if I wanted to although with difficulty.

My mother was incredibly beautiful and loving and so many more things I can't describe, my father was also incredibly handsome and we had a lot of fun together although he was sometimes scary especially when I get hurt and whenever I did get hurt one of the butlers or maids that were taking care of me were fired and I didn't like that because he would release something I call killing intent which is scary because you feel like you are about to die so whenever that happens I start crying and the feeling would go away almost instantly.

And in no time I was four years old, normally children would awaken their magical powers on their sixth birthday but if you had a lot of talent you could awaken it at five years old, but I awakened it at four years old which was almost unheard of but my parents played it off like I was a genius, and when you first awaken your power it would show how much magical power you have and mine was around fifty which was five times more than normal children but it wasn't something unheard of and there were even cases where it was 200 or more but those weren't common so my parents were a little disappointed about the level of magical power but they were still happy because I awakened it a lot earlier than other people which also meant that I could start learning magic spells and other kinds of stuff earlier than others, there were also a large number of guards and mages in our house or should I say mansion? Who I could learn magic and sword techniques from but that wouldn't happen for a while as my mother forbade all of the guards and mages to teach me, so all I could do was read in the library which was quite boring but it was one of the only courses of entertainment I could have so I didn't mind reading.

The first time I read a bestiary I was amazed by the sheer number of monsters in the world which numbered in the thousands and those were only the ones they have discovered so my first wish was perfect because of the sheer number of powers I could get from the unlimited amount of monsters.

but after reading for about 2 more years I finished the whole library, so the only logical thing I could do was complain to my father about being bored and hope that he would let me train with the guards or mages.

You could hear the pitter-patter of shoes running on a carpet which was me running towards the office of my father as I arrived at the door I instantly knocked and I only had to wait a second before I could go inside, this wasn't the first time I was in his office but I was still amazed by the number of documents on the table.

"What brings you here Zach?" asked my father

"Well, father I've finished reading the library and there is nothing else to do so can I maybe train with the guards or learn some magic?" I asked

"Well, I guess you are old enough to start training so in two days I'll get you a tutor for magic and I'll teach you how to fight myself." Said my father with a proud face

"Yay~, at least I won't be bored anymore," I said
