Battle of Kiri (Part-2)
The main battlefield between Konoha and the hidden mist was a wasteland not too far to the front of the camp. After Kan rushed in, he found that Konoha's camp was doing much better than he had anticipated. There were blood and bodies of dead shinobis everywhere but Konoha is still holding on under the leadership of Shukaku Nara.
Everyone in the camp looks at the new entry of Kan with interest as he carried a Konoha shinobi in a green suit on his back.
Soon, all three members of team Choza returned to Konoha camp as well.
"Dad!" Kan saw a boy in the green tank with a red scarf on his neck, along with some pretty thick eyebrows running towards him or rather towards the person on the ground.
He was followed immediately by two other boys, probably his teammates.
Gai looked at the dark charred body of his father. It filled his heart with sorrow, and he couldn't keep his tears from pouring down.
Genma and Ebisu. The two boys who came with Gai stood silently. Watching as their teammate cried his heart out.
Kan who was standing beside them frowned, "You'll make this your last cry shinobi. You're a warrior on the battlefield. Warriors don't cry"
"Yes sir", Gai said as he sits straight with tears falling from his eyes.
Kan sadly smiled as he gently rubbed Gai's hair before moving away.

Kan entered the tent with Shikaku, Inoichi, and Choza standing beside a round table with a big map on it.
"Who are you? This place is off-limits"
"I am Kan Korimachi", Kan said as he took out the scroll with Hokage's permission written on it, "I have been tasked to retrieve the scroll with Kiri's bloodline users name"
Choza sighed, "I am sorry to say this. But we seem to have lost the scroll"
"..."
Inoichi sighed as well, "We received this information just before your arrival. The armament scroll should be with Gai's hands"
"How do I get it back?", Kan said
Shikaku looks at Kan, "You can't, It's been sometime before it's gone. It might be in the mist headquarters by now"
"..."
Kan nodded, "Understood", He walks out.
"Where are you going?"
"..."
Kan didn't even answer and went out.

At night, the full moon shines on the foggy land of the mist.
"This is the place", Mikoto whispered to Kan
Kan and Mikoto quietly lurked on a hill, looking at a small camp down below.
Kan looks at Mikoto in surprise, "You actually did it. It was like looking for a needle in a haystack. But you actually freakingly did found their camp"
Mikoto smirked and flip her hair off her head, "Hmph, who do you think was scouting. Something like this wasn't even worth mentioning"
"..."
'What an egoist', Kan rolled his eyes.
But he couldn't deny that he never expected Mikoto to find Kiri's camp at all, Like he said, it was like finding a needle in a haystack especially since it's their field.
"How many people are in there", Kan said in a low voice
"I am not really sure. But according to my estimations and watching these guys for a quarter of a day. I believe there are twelve people in total. There can be more though"
Mikoto whispered back, "As for their strength, I can tell you that they are all very good"
"In the entire camp, there are only 12 or so people?", Kan asked confused
"There might be more but they definitely didn't come back till now", Mikoto replied
Kan nodded as he stares ahead.
"Why are we doing it anyway. I thought you said that our mission is a failure", She asked
"Our original mission is definitely a failure. The scroll about their bloodline users is gone and there is no way to retrieve it. But the problem is that we currently hold the scroll that contains the information about their military equipments. They won't let this one go", Kan said
"You mean"
Kan nodded, "There is a possibility that they will attack us tonight. If we wait for their attack we might get trapped in some unknown ambush. I think Shikaku knows it too but considering how every Konoha shinobi is at their limit, He can only wait"
"So you want to attack them?", She asked
Kan looks at Mikoto very seriously, "Unknown... is something I fear the most Mikoto"
"..."
"I have seen too many deaths on the battlefield already. And I don't want to become like them and die like a dirt"
Mikoto nodded, and stare ahead, "So, what the plan?"
"We know too little to actually come up with a plan. Let's keep...
"It's Byakugan. We are exposed..!!", Mikoto suddenly yelled, and then immediately jumped up.
Kan immediately jumped up when he heard the words, although he still does not trust her that much. But Kan knows her skills better than anyone. She is extremely good at what she does, and he is willing to trust that.
Sure enough, the moment they just jumped up, a thick water dragon immediately slammed into the place where they were hiding, and a huge current rushed towards them.
"Why is he here?" Kan cursed, and when he landed, a thick mist suddenly spread around him.
"Who is it?", Mikoto asked
"Ao. He stole one of the Byakugan from a Hyuuga branch member. He is the main reason that Hyuuga's sealing incident even happened in the first place"
She nodded.
"Hidden mist jutsu", Came the voice out of no-where.
Kan looks around, only to see the dense fog that was spreading.
Quietly scanning the surroundings, Mikoto holds his hand, suddenly the corner of Kan's mouth was curved, and the next moment a Kunai plunged directly into his back..!!
'Boom..!!'
The Kunai just blasted; blowing the mist away for a few moments before it fills the atmosphere once again.
Out of nowhere, Kan suddenly appeared behind him.
He stood behind the Kiri shinobi as he pierced the Kiri shinobi from the back with a sword that was coming out of his chest, "Next time before you rush in, know that my partner is an Uchiha"
The Kiri shinobi grit his teeth, and the crystal clear water that was formed because of the thick water dragon turned crimson, the mist in front of him also completely dispersed.
Mikoto jumped back and came by his side as both of them stares at the surrounding Kiri shinobis.
"Nice support", Kan said as he continues to stare at them.
"Whatever", She said, as she takes out a kunai in each hand.
