Alchemist

A smile involuntarily came over her lips, she finally break through!

Standing up, she jumped all over the bed, wishing she could just scream out her throat but she held back.

After inhaling a lot, she finally calmed herself down and lay on the bed, looking at the ceiling, and finally sleep.

The next day.

After hurriedly getting dressed, the first thing that Lin Yue did was run out as fast as her leg could take her to meet her parents.

"Mother!!!." She grinned as she jumped onto her her mother's arm and wrapped her hand around her neck.

"You've broke through?." Xie Mingzhu asked with a smile.

"Yes Mother, I am so happy." Lin Yue was so happy that she felt like crying.

"Humph," She heard her father's voice but she couldn't care less.

"Hahahaha, our Yue'er is now a level three cultivator!."

That day, Lin Yue decided to go and visit her master. She was taken to a room when she get to his residence and was surprised when she saw him sitting in front of a pill furnace.

"Uh? master is an alchemist?" She thought.

As much as she knew, alchemists are people who made different kind of spiritual pills, from one that could benefit you to one that could destroy you, however, they are as rare as hen's teeth since the requirements to be an alchemist is very strict.

One of them is to have the fire element. Ordinary fire can't heat spiritual herbs and so, only people with the fire element have the opportunity to become an alchemist.

Apart from that, one must also have high fire perception. To make a pill from herbs, you must have precise control of the fire you used, which is also very rare.

Also, the herbs used itself is another obstacle that prevents some people to be unable to become an alchemist! For example, one of the spiritual herbs to be used in pill-making might cost thousands of gold coins! causing people with poor backgrounds to have no choice but to stick to cultivation only.

Of course, one can go and find the herbs himself but there is a chance that one would perish and tear apart by the beasts guarding the precious herbs.

Even though the requirements are so strict, it has its advantages as well since Alchemist are held in high regard in society, no matter where they are, even the emperor has to respect them, after all, who doesn't want a breakthrough pill or the one that could raise their cultivation level faster.

Lin Yue didn't expect the cunning master of hers to be an alchemist!

She sat quietly at the side, not daring to disturb him, but instead watched intently as he picked herbs, put them into the furnace, and carefully controlled the fire so that the herbs didn't get burnt.

It takes over an hour to finish melting all the herbs, after that, Lin Huang suddenly closed the furnace with a large bam! And shouted.

"Gather!."

All the liquids in the furnace slowly started coming together and after five minutes, it formed a black pill.

Opening the furnace, a refreshing smell wafted into Lin Yue's nose, causing her to feel so comfortable, even than when she drank the mind-relaxing tea.

"Master!" She called out cheerfully.

"Ho ho, isn't this Yue'er?, why do I feel that you've become taller again?." Lin Huang asked as he put the pill into a bottle and swiftly keep it in his storage ring.

"Of course, I am now a level three cultivator!" She informed happily.

"Uh?!." Lin Huang was shocked as he look at her for a moment before nodding.

"Your talent really know how to put people to shame."

"Come with me." He stood up and Lin Yue followed.

"Master, I didn't expect you to be an alchemist, you are my third role model!." Lin Yue said as they walked down a long corridor.

Lin Huang chuckled softly. "Who is your first and second then?."

"That father of mine is the first and then my mother! and then you, my master!."

"Then I am really honored to be one of Yue'er's role models!."

Both of them laughed and chatted.

Lin Yue suddenly had an epiphany and asked her master with a very soft voice. "Master, can you teach me how to become an Alchemist?."

Without looking at her, Lin Huang corrected. "They only teach you how to make pills and..." He shook his head regretfully. "I also want to teach you, but it is a pity you are not of the fire element."

"Of course, I am glad you're not, otherwise, how can you be the guardian?."

Lin Yue pursed her lips, looking sad but she was super happy in her heart because she has the fire element!

She didn't tell him this because she has to obtain permission from her parents first.

"We are here!" She heard Lin Huang's voice, making her stop.
