Mark's life changed the day someone broke into his clinic to tell him that he had been a character of a video game all along and what he had known till now had been a code decided by the game's system. When he was supposed to die though, an external interference broke the code and he was no longer part of the system. Now as the only external influence inside the code, his existence was an enigma on its own. And his fate was to turn into a monster when the humanity continued to betray him at every corner of the world. 'His nature was gentle and loving to the point of putting himself in danger for those he loved. But betrayal laid everywhere in his new world and he should get used to being used' My twitter: https://twitter.com/ojasvisharma6 Support me on Ko-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/daygonyuuki (cover is not mine, I like it but if the maker wants it gone, they can tell me and I'll change)
In the end, there was nothing he could do even with this information. It changed nothing for them, nor gave them an advantage. Time was of the essence and it was stiffening as well. They had only so much they could handle before they retaliate as well.
If the god was angry, so were his people.
It was not supposed to be like this. This destruction, this mayhem, was not supposed to happen. Not when they had decided to follow the plot and make an ally out of the resistance. They were supposed to win at the end, not the other side. But the scene in front of Mark spoke differently.
"Are you sure this is the place? It looked like it had been abandoned ages ago. Perhaps you were lied to?" someone asked, their voice hopeful but Mark felt anything but hopeful. This condition could not have turned out to be worse than this.
