Chapter 7

Right as the first wave commences we all receive a message from the same screen as I've had for the past 8 months. The Message says, "Live for as long as you can and awaken your powers to fight back against the monsters." Before the monsters come out everyone acquires a slight amount of information, they get their main ability, kinda like I got my energy conductor skill. Everyone is still in shock and confused, the monsters start and come out one by one out of many portals throughout the world. The closest portal to me was a portal at the school's main entrance. Over the portal, I can identify what comes out of it and its level. Currently, every human is at level one whereas the monster's levels are diverse depending on the portal. The level and type of monsters coming out of the portal near me are goblins and they are from levels 1-3. The first thing I decide to do is leave the cafeteria and make my way to the front of the school to try and gain as much strength as possible. Running through the school there are many people running away in fear. The world in disaster i make it outside, many dead bodies in front of the school with knives and daggers inside them. The weapons come from the goblins, coming out of the portal are hundreds of goblins. The monster's levels vary from levels from one to three. There seem to be a few people staying at the front of the school to try and fight back, the first person I notice fighting back is Brad. He managed to kill a few of the goblins with his bare fist, for now, I ignore him and make my way to the front of the battle. With my magic, I concentrate on a single goblin and use my magic. I concentrate all of the energy on the heart area and increase the heat, in that moment the goblin dies from bearing a hole in his chest. As the Goblin dies I receive exp, I take a second to open my stat window and realize I now have an exp bar next to my level. From the level 1 monster that I defeated, I gained 30 exp which filled my level bar to almost 1 third of the way. I close the window and make my way to the deceased goblin and recover its weapon. While analyzing the weapon an information window opens, revealing the stats of the weapon, the weapon's stats are +1 strength. While analyzing the weapon Bee starts to eat the goblins corps. I put the dagger in my inventory and pushed away Bee to stop him from eating the corps. While pushing away Bee a Goblin jumps behind and attacks me from behind. In that second I take my newly found dagger and parry the goblins attack. Swords clashing I fall to the floor. The goblin continues attacking me relentlessly, Bee proceeds to bite its ankle, dealing a small amount of damage and distracting it. I stand up abruptly and slash its neck. Yet again receiving exp from the monster, I arrange my thoughts and continue attacking the monsters alternating between using my magic skill and my dagger. Throughout the fight, I observe a new bar next to my skill representing my proficiency in the skill. I kill a few more monsters and manage to level up to level two. Once I level up I receive 3 stat points, I make a split second decision and decide to put all of them into my magic to be able to deal as much damage from far as possible. Despite slaying a considerable number of monsters, they continue coming out until we're completely overwhelmed. I decide to run inside and take a close-quarter fight with a level 3 goblin, its strength and speed are higher than the previous monsters we've fought. I hold my dagger tightly waiting for it to make its first move, The monster standing still I decide to make a quick attack and aim for its neck. Swords clashing he blocks my attack. I dash backward and take back my ground, in that split second he counter-attacks. Yet again I parry his attack instead of counter-attacking. I use my newly increased ability to create a cold area around us to reduce his movements. Both of us standing our ground, he tries to attack again. However, his movements are significantly slower.Since I'm the one who created the area, the cold doesn't affect me, giving me a large advantage in terms of mobility. Right as his dagger reaches my throat I block his attack and make a quick counter-attack, and cut off the arm holding his dagger. A split second later I use my energy conductor skill and melt a hole in his head. Its body drops to the floor and dies. I decide to grab his weapon and make a run to the cafeteria to try and take a breath before continuing to fight. Bee follows me with the goblins arm in his mouth. Throughout the fight, Bee has been eating the goblin corps and gaining exp from them. Once I make it, back to the Cafeteria I open both of our status windows and realize that Bee has a new category covered in question marks. He's made it to Level 3 and so have I. I keep putting stats into my magic to increase my damage dealt. I try to select the stats that Bee will increase; however, to my surprise they seem to be predetermined. The stats all went into mana; our stats are now.

Aoi stats:

Strength 12 (+1)

Agility 13

Mana 3 - 9

Intellect 7 - 8

Bee's stats:

Strength 4

Agility 5

Mana 1 - 4

Intellect 1

Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any information about Bee's new ability, however, both our stats have gone up. Furthermore, I've learned that every time Bee levels up the more stats he gives me. Now instead of getting 1 bonus stat point per stat, it's 2. This brings my Stat power level to 50. My rank is now E rank, and I'm officially considered an awakened. Now that I've established all the increase in stats I've received I'm ready to go back to fighting, the school is still in chaos, and Brad makes it to the cafeteria with a few other people. We make contact and ignore each other; He talks with the other people with their clothes covered in human blood. They block the doors to the cafeteria to block off the monsters, by doing so many people can't come in, dying while trying to come in. I try to tell them to open the doors, but they ignore me. Everyone is dying one by one from the monsters. "These emotionless bastards letting all of these innocent people die for no reason at all". I take out my dagger and tell them to step away from the doors. Brad turns around and hits me. I can tell from the speed and strength of the hit that I have no chance of winning against him. "If you want to be a hero, go save them yourself dork," he says. "Fine," I say, I walk up to the door and tell them to open it. The girl holding the door looks at Brad. Brad nods and she lets me go. Bee follows me out. A rush of people and monsters goes by. I follow the other students who are running, and while doing so I kill as many goblins as possible Before closing the doors from where the monsters are coming from. I use heat to break the chain holding the door open and the door shut. I'm now by myself surrounded by dozens of goblins. I stand my ground killing as many as possible using my two daggers and heat conductor ability. I alternate between heat and cold to kill them instantly and slow them down. Once they get too close to me I hack them down one at a time. Bee stands behind me and bites them down, weakening them. Unfortunately, Bee isn't capable of standing on his own so he stays close to me and supports me. I focus on the lower level Goblins first to be able to increase my level to make it easier to kill the level 3 goblins. A few minutes go by and I haven't even killed half of them, I start getting tired, and I get slower. At this pace I won't be able to make it out. Both me and Bee are starting to slow down. I look back at the cafeteria, I see Brad looking at me with a grin on his face, I swear I'll make him pay for this, he is the cause of many people dying. Even when he's capable of helping others he just stands there and does nothing. Bastard, "Whimper" I turned around and noticed that Bee wasn't with me anymore, Because I wasn't concentrating. The monsters had managed to get a hold of Bee. I make a run for him as fast as possible, On The goblin jumps and goes for the finish after weakening him. Time slows down, and I can't stop thinking that if I hadn't tried being a pointless hero maybe we wouldn't be in this situation. As the goblin goes for the finish, someone comes in and crushes the goblin with his bare fist. I stop and look at him. He has red hair, with very broad shoulders, and he seems to be about 7 feet tall. As the goblins are about to make another attack we hear a scream coming from the entrance of the portal. They turn around and make their way back, they bash through the door. I look back to the redhead, he's holding Bee in his hands gently, and brings him back to me. I thank him for saving us as I pick Bee back up, He doesn't say anything but nods. "Hey! I'm Aoi," I say, He completely ignores me and looks at the cafeteria doors and glares at Brad and his group coming out. He walks up to them and tries to strike Brad. Brad dodges and counter-attacks, redhead dodges and asks Brad why he didn't try and help me when I needed it. Brad says, "I was trying to open the door, but it was blocked." Redhead replies ''Bullshit I just saw you open the door with ease." Brad Smirks and asks him what proof he has. Redhead Glares at him. "It's fine, let's get out of here" I tell him, we turn around and make our way to Ms. Fitzgerald's class, we open the door, "it seems empty" I say, we close and lock the door behind us and open the lights. We both sit down, I look at Bee's injuries and stats. I look at his health and it's almost empty. He also has a bleeding status effect, if we don't do something he'll die. I look to my right "Do you have anything that can help red-head?" I ask, he looks at me "My name's Daiki" he says, "Here I took bandages from the nurse's office before meeting you," he adds, handing them to me. I perform first aid on Bee and stop the bleeding. For now, he should be fine since I stopped the bleeding. I pull out food from my bag and give some to Daiki. We both eat in silence, in the meantime, I Look over my stats.

I put two stat points into agility and 1 point into mana, During the fight my intellect increased by using my Skill a lot. 

Since my Energy Conductor skill is getting close to D rank I will be concentrating solely on that to try and turn it into something incredibly powerful.

Bee:

Yet again Bee's stats are pre-determined, so I don't get to choose where they go. One stat point went into mana and 2 into intellect. Both strength and agility increased on their own. I find it weird that the stats are pre-determined to mana and intellect since he does not have any magic skill, The only skill he's developed is bite which is a physical skill that means it uses strength to increase its damage. The skill deals a small amount of damage followed by a bleed that lasts until the wound is healed. Therefore it doesn't make sense for the system to put his stats into magic stats, The only thing I can assume is that the unknown skill is related to magic.

We both finish eating and decide to make a plan, "We should stay here and rest for a bit for the Dog to rest," Daiki says, "His name is Bee by the way" I say, "I agree, however, we need to figure out what that scream was earlier, it seemed to have attracted the goblins," I add, " could it be their boss o something like that" Daiki says. " Probably," I say, "either way we need to figure out what to do once Bee recovers," I continue, "What if we stand our ground here like you said, and once Bee wakes up we go back to the cafeteria and inspect the situation." Daiki Nods in Agreement, A few hours go by and we both take turns resting, Bee wakes up with his tail wagging. In that short time, His health made it back to half, I picked him up and put him in my bag and we made our way to the cafeteria. Once we make it there we find a wounded student… It was the girl in the same group as Brad.
