"You're the Knight Reaper?"

 "If I haven't... I'm so tired... Mom, Dad. You're gone... what do I do?" Mai mumbled, curled up on the rocky ground. Tall trees surrounded her, and the sun dipped beneath the hills. Distinct footsteps and the voices of men could be heard, but she didn't care. She resigned herself to her fate.

"There she is!" A man exclaimed, pointing in her direction. The other bandits quickly advanced to capture her. 

*So this is the end for me... this is how my life ends?...* 

Just then, a soft yet firm voice commanded, "Let her go."

The voice emanated from a tall man with blazing crimson eyes, nestled beneath his unkempt black hair. His words carried strong emotion, yet his face remained impassive.

One of the bandits scoffed. "Who do you think you are? Go from here and leave!" The bandits quivered as the man stepped closer, he took Mai on his side, further infuriating them.

Their futile attempt to waver his strong demeanor, still standing with the stalled spells that amounted to nothing more than a speck of dust. Their spells were nullified, leaving the bandits in shock.

"That's the knight reaper.." One of the men whispered to the other. As the message passed on, they all prepped to run, and off they went. 

Mai's energy drained, she glanced at the man before falling into unconsciousness.
