Chapter four

"Guards, help!" Phillip cried out and two guards walked in. They had heard me while I screamed but just pretended like they didn't. "She tried to kill me!." He pointed at me and they approached my bed. They picked me up and took me to the dungeon where I stayed overnight till the king was ready to see me.

"You dare try to harm my son?" His voice was low but harsh.

I got on my knees hoping it would do me any good. "Your majesty, I swear I didn't do anything. I don't know what happened."

"Look at his head, how do you explain that?"

"I...I don't know what happened your majesty, you have to believe me."

"I gave you a home when you had none, I was kind to you...and this is how you choose to repay me?"

"I didn't do anything to him. I-"

"Silence!." The queen sneered at me. She never liked me so I knew she was enjoying the present state I was in. "Look at my poor baby, what offense could he have committed to be treated this way."

"I never knew she was a horrible person. I went to her room to talk to her because I had the intention of taking her as a bride, and this is what she used to respond." He pointed at his head and winced a little, causing the king to frown at me even more.

"Your majesty, that's not true!. Prince Phillip never told me anything about marriage, he--"

"ENOUGH!, I don't want to hear it. Do you know the charges against you?,you committed treason, and your sin is punishable by death."

"You can't do this, I've done nothing wrong!." Nina was present but she didn't say a word and that made me angry. I thought Nina was my friend and that at least she would believe me.

Besides, I tell her everything Philip does. All the times he bothered me, the times he'd touch me carelessly, the times he would try to kiss me. She knew all about it, she was even present to witness some of the unfair treatments I got from him.

I looked in her direction, hoping she would say something but she couldn't meet my gaze. The king ordered for me to be thrown into the dungeon till he would decide on when to kill me.

"Hela?"

"Dad?, Why did you leave me for so long dad?"

"I'm sorry Hela. I'm also sorry I brought you to the palace,I never knew things were going to end up like this."

"What am I going to do dad?, I can't die here."

"You won't die, don't worry. I'll find a way to get you out of here."

"Okay."

For two moons, I was in the dungeon, waiting for the king to decide on when he would kill me. Nina didn't come to check on me at all and I was disappointed, I guess I was just a servant to her after all.

"Kira,"

"What do you want, you pervert?"

"Relax, I came to get you out of here."

"What are you talking about?"

"I don't like the way you're in here so I've decided to let you out."

I folded my arms and stared at him, his blue eyes lingering over my body with lust. "I am going to kill you." I said simply, and he laughed.

"Why are you refusing to be my bride?, Do you prefer to rot in here like a prisoner?!" He was starting to get agitated but I didn't say anything else. "Fine! Die for all I care!."

I knelt in the throne room, awaiting the king's decision. "How long have you been in the dungeon?" He asked with no particular emotion attached to his voice.

"Four moons, your majesty."

"Yes well, I was trying to decide on what to do with you." He paused for a minute, stroking his beard like he was trying to think."I have two options for you. The first one, accept Phillip's proposal, but you can't be his bride so you will be his concubine. Or, you leave this palace and never return."

He had barely finished his sentence when I answered. "Your majesty, I will leave the palace and never return."

My reply seemed to anger him because he frowned slightly. "What is wrong with my son?, All the girls in the capital would give anything for the post I just offered you."

"Yes, I'm sure they would but I can't be with the prince."

He looked like he wanted to say more but he decided against it. "Very well. I have someone who is in need of a servant, you'll serve there from now on."

"As your lordship pleases."

I left the palace that day, Nina didn't say a word to me till I left. The only person who seemed unhappy about it was Rose. An old man, probably in his early sixties came to pick me up. They called him professor. He was tall, and straight and he was very agile.

If someone saw him from afar, they would think he was a young person. The only thing that gave his age away was his face that had some wrinkles on it and his hair that had turned grey.

His house wasn't too big and it was messy. He had books scattered everywhere and it didn't seem like he had organized the place in a while.

"It's disorganized." His voice stopped my eyes from wandering. "Well, this is my house. You'll be staying here for the meantime."

"Are you giving me to someone else?"

"Hmm...let's just see how it goes."

"Okay."

"What did you say your name was again?"

"Kira, sir."

"Kira. Well call me professor."

"Okay sir."

"Yes. Well I'm a bit famished, could you make us something to eat?"

"Um... professor, I'm afraid I can't cook."

He stopped abruptly and turned to face me. "You don't know how to cook. " He repeated slowly, and I nodded. "So what do you know how to do?."

"Well, in the palace I was a serving maid to the princess so I just cleaned her room, and I helped her get ready whenever she was going anywhere."

"Ah." He said simply and went to his room.

After a week of staying with the professor, he called me and told me he was expecting some guests so I should tidy up the living room. I had barely finished when I heard a knock on the door.

I dropped the broom and hurried to let in the guests. They were six people, two women and four men. It was obvious that they were much more older than I was. "Is professor in?" The man who seemed like their leader asked. I nodded slowly and he smiled at me. "What's your name?"

"K..kira."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Eren." He smiled at me, and my heart skipped a beat. I had never seen a man so handsome. He was tall, dark and excruciatingly handsome.

He had the kind of face that would stop anyone in their tracks, that sudden pause in a person's natural expression when they looked at him, and his smile was so lovely that it made me wonder if he was a god.

His hair was shiny and black and he held it up in a neat man bun. His eyes were dark, rich, and decadent and they looked so impenetrable. They felt so magnetic and I was automatically drawn to this masculine beauty.

He caught me staring and he smiled at me, making my heart skip a beat again. I looked away, hoping my face hadn't turned red.

"This is kira." The professor said as he took a seat opposite Eren. "You'll be taking her with you when you leave. She belongs to you now."
