"Alright, but if I wanna 'best' her, I wanna ask for King's permission first," I said and the girls nodded.
"Totes." Kayla said, "King! Get yo grumpy, old ass over here!" Kayla said surprisingly loud but didn't get in trouble. I applaud. King cut whatever conversation he was having and came over to us.
"We wanna attempt to up, and stay over, Lira again," Kayla said.
"Shoot. I love when you embarrass yourselves trying to do stupid stuff." King shrugged.
"Great, thanks! We'll need your place." Kayla turned to me, "Do you know how to swim?" She asked
"I-"
"Of course you do, everyone does. Now, King, we're going swim clothes shopping." Kayla declared.
"Yes, ma'am! This one's gonna be good." King smirked and walked back into a group of arguing guys.
"Alright girls, everyone's phone out now," Kayla commanded.
"Olli, you search cute bikinis, Nia, you search exposing bikinis, Em go to Belk's, I'm going to Target." Kayla whipped out her phone and her fingers started typing furiously.
"Are we allowed to have our phones out?" I asked Nia in a whisper.
"You're allowed to do a lot of things when you're friends with us." She replied back, I could see all the pieces of scraps people called bikinis that popped up in her feed. Huh.
"Cool," I said, then started looking on Belks for bikinis all of us could wear.
After 15 minutes Kayla pulled her attention away from her phone and ours with her.
"5 minutes until class switches, ladies. What'd you find?" Everyone simultaneously flipped their phones so everyone could see.
Olli showed a cute flower two-piece. More of a short and bra set than a bikini.
"Not exposing enough, we need to catch all the eyes of the boys, and maybe finally the eyes of J-'' Olli nudged Kayla in the rib.
"Okay." Kayla looked over at Nia's screen to see a red tube top and thong, basically underwear.
"Ooh, save that one to your phone Nia, it might be the one," Kayla said.
"Now I have this glorious diamond blue bikini." She showed us a blue miniskirt and sports bra. It was great, or at least better than mine.
I had a bright pink cross top with rhinestones on the hem and pink swim-panties. The girls gasped and the boys turned around and shuffled through the girls, trying to see. They all smirked at it but didn't say anything. Dirty perverted boys. I snatched my phone away immediately.
"Oh my wow, that's the one!" Kayla exclaimed, taking my phone back into her reach.
"King, we've got to leave, now! It's a fucking fashion emergency!" She squealed.
"At lunch, we can't go now. We probably can't go then either." King said.
"I will drop-kick your PS5 out of your window and make sure it lands in the hot tub." She threatened. The boys gasped.
"Alright fine, but no more leaving before school ends until next week," King said.
"Fine by me, muchacho. Let's go girls." Kayla started sassy-walking out of the room with Nia and Olli not far behind.
"Ayo, Ms.B, we're leaving, excuse us for our next classes, okay?" King called out to the teacher, grabbing my hand and dragging me out with them.
The teacher gave a firm nod and went back to whatever she was doing on her phone.
King dropped my hand once we were in the hallway. He whipped out his phone and called someone, someone who could only be his chauffeur.
Once we exited the school without telling the administration as if we owned it, the limo was already there.
The girls were let in first then the guys. A black piece of stained glass rolled down to reveal a man on the other side of the glass.
"Where to, sir?" The guy asked.
"Kayla?" King asked.
"The closest galleria with Belk's, Macy's, and Target in it," Kayla said.
"Yes, ma'am. Yes, sir." Then the glass window rolled back up again.
"Alright here's the plan, because I'm the ultimate shipper here's what we're going to do," Kayla said and everybody rolled their eyes.
"Olli, J, you pick out accessories for everyone. Nia, you and Deon go to Macy's and see if you can find something cute. Jaylen and I will go to Target, and Em, you, and King go to Belks." Kayla said.
"Here." King handed me a credit card.
"It's only activated when I activate it. You can't buy anything off of it without my permission." King said.
"And we meet at the food court at 12, Chick-Fil-A, got it, everybody?" Kayla said and there was a mumble of incoherent positive answers.
"Great, cause we're here," Kayla said as the door opened and everybody walked their separate ways.
King's phone dinged and he looked at it before turning it silent and putting it in his pocket.
"So, are we gonna find that one really hot swimsuit you showed everyone on your phone?" King asked and I nodded.
"Do you happen to know the girls' sizes, I mean you shop with them a lot," I asked.
"Your guess would be better than mine," King shrugged, "plus, don't girls have this mind-reading thing?" We passed a couple and received strange looks then I saw one of them take out their phone and snap a picture.
"Take a different one, come on King." I turned around and so did King, I put his arm around my shoulder and hugged his torso.
"Smile for the camera!" The couple looked puzzled and embarrassed but still took the photo anyway.
"Great, now we just gotta hope we don't get in trouble." I turned back around and so did King. We started walking.
"We won't, I've already spent my 175 needed days at school, plus, it's almost over anyway," King said as we turned down the women's aisle.
"So, take all the other ones shopping on their second day?" I asked
"Other than you, no. Kayla won't let me take anyone anywhere unless they can survive for a week. She obviously has faith in you." He said, eyeing some of the half-naked models on posters.
"I don't know if I should like that or not. I feel like I stole Emy's man." I giggled, looking through my options, though I knew I was going to get what I originally wanted.
"Stole Emy's man?" He looked at me before continuing to ogle.
"My sister, she wanted so desperately to be the one to live with you. She's always wanted to marry rich and be treated like a queen without having to put in work. This was her chance." I said, deeply considering getting that one blue and yellow one-piece that was screaming my name.
"How old is she?" He asked.
"10," I replied.
"If she looks anything like you, that'd definitely help her chances," King said with a grin.
"She is a little darker than chocolate, and her eyes aren't as light as mine. Her hair is shorter too, lucky her." I mumbled the last part under my breath. King's eyes trailed over me as if he was looking at me for the first time.
"I'm sure she's still just as pretty." He said, his eyes looking into mine.
"Oh my god! It's King Manchester! And… another one of his whores." She walked up to us with her hips swaying, her audacity!
'Play along' I mouthed and he nodded slightly.
"Babe, what'd she just call me? A… another one? There's more?" I tilted my head slightly and looked into his eyes as if I was actually hurt.
"Oh, hunny. Don't you know he's been with a new girl every month since he was 8? I thought you would've told her." The girl put her finger on his chest and he immediately flinched back.
"Tch.. babe, come on. She's some stranger looking at my life through the cameras. Does it look like I'd ever cheat on you?" He held his arms open as if to make a point.
"Actually, it does." I scrunch my face up in disgust. King went wide-eyed for a second then his face got stone cold.
"You're gonna believe a stranger over me?" He asked, looking like he was about to punch something.
"Should I? I don't know." I raised my arms and put them at my side to show my frustration. I stopped myself from breathing or blinking so tears would well up in my eyes.
"I'm going, don't ever look my way again- you or your little friends." I almost snapped and stormed off.
"Come on, babe wait!" I heard King call after me and I heard that girl giggle. Then I saw King running after me.
"Come on," I whispered and ducked up behind a sales board on the other side of the store.
"Oh, King, did you see her face-" The girl opened her eyes to see King gone.
"King, baby? Wait! Where'd you go?! Don't tell me you went after that slut!" The girl stomped and rushed off the direction we went, the opposite of where we were going.
"Sorry, that was an old contestant," King whispered on my neck, then I suddenly realized how close we were and I waddled out from behind the board.
"It's cool I've always wanted to have a dramatic breakup." I smirked.
"You think the press will hear about this?" I asked.
"Yea, but without proof, no one will believe her." King shrugged and dragged me back to the bikini section.
We bought the one I was supposed to get, a couple that I liked, and some swim trunks for King. Now, all we had to do was wait.
Ugh, it's only the second day and our little hedgehog is already knee-deep in drama!
I uploaded today :)
