Michael said with a smile. As expected, Tony Stark had received a reply from Jarvis, and there was indeed no information about his identity.
Looking at Pepper's expectant eyes, Tony Stark said helplessly, "Although I don't trust you, I'll let you try. But I warn you, don't try anything funny, or I won't let you off so easily!"
"Rest assured." Michael replied. His target was only the Extremis virus. Besides, whether it was Iron Man or Pepper, he had no intention of making enemies with them—at least not until he had gained absolutely powerful abilities!
Michael walked up to Pepper, extended his hand, and said, "Relax, don't resist. The process might be painful, but I promise it won't be dangerous! I don't want Iron Man and the Avengers hunting me down, so just trust me."
"Hey, what are you doing?" Tony shouted as he saw Michael placing his hand on Pepper.
Michael calmly responded, "Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not trying to take advantage of her. Believe me, I'm not interested in other people's women."
As soon as he finished speaking, Michael felt a surge of power erupt in his body, like he could devour everything. In an instant, a special energy started flowing from his palm. Pepper's expression turned painful, and Tony Stark watched her intently.
This process lasted about five minutes before Michael suddenly let go of Pepper and collapsed onto the ground, exhausted, sweat pouring off him.
"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Tony Stark hurriedly supported Pepper, his concern evident.
Pepper shook her head, "I'm fine. I can feel that the Extremis virus is gone. I can't sense it anymore."
"That's great, but we should still go back and run some tests." Tony said, still worried.
"What about him?" Pepper asked, looking at Michael.
Michael waved weakly, "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine after a bit of rest."
"Let's go!" Tony said, leading Pepper away. Though he was curious about who Michael was and how he had absorbed the Extremis virus, he was more focused on Pepper's health at the moment.
As they left, Michael couldn't help but laugh quietly to himself.
Success!
It had worked.
He could feel the changes in his body, that powerful force coursing through him. With just a thought, his arms began to heat up like molten lava. He reached out and touched the ground, watching as it was rapidly eroded beneath his fingers.
After his arms returned to normal, Michael picked up a piece of metal debris and stabbed it into his arm. It hurt, but he found himself laughing.
The wound was healing quickly!
Though this self-healing ability wasn't quite as powerful as Wolverine's, it was still impressive. Missing limbs could regenerate, and his survival capabilities had greatly increased. At least now, Michael didn't have to worry as much about dying.
"This is just the first step, just the beginning!" Michael said quietly to himself before turning to leave.
Three days later…
Michael was driving a convertible sports car, dressed in fresh new clothes, cruising down the street. Young, handsome, and wealthy, he attracted plenty of attention. In fact, he'd already turned down several advances from beautiful women.
As for the sports car? Well, acquiring money wasn't hard for Michael. He had found a rich man, had a "friendly" conversation with him, and gotten what he wanted. If it caused trouble, Michael wasn't worried—after all, trouble was what he thrived on.
In those three days, Michael had formulated his next plan.
He was going to join S.H.I.E.L.D.!
Yes, it might seem a little unorthodox, but in this huge Marvel world, it was the best option for him right now. S.H.I.E.L.D. would soon collapse, Hydra would reappear, and joining them wouldn't be too limiting. His real target was Phil Coulson, who had been killed by Loki but resurrected later. Michael had always liked the guy and wanted to be part of his team.
This decision aligned with the timeline of *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, and Michael's goal was to join Coulson's team. Although he had integrated the Extremis virus, he was still relatively weak. There were many powers within *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.* that were easy to acquire. Plus, S.H.I.E.L.D. resources would help him grow stronger quickly, without the need to run around like a headless chicken searching for abilities.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. agent identity would also allow Michael to connect with other superheroes. While it might seem constricting to join someone else's organization, all he needed was a temporary identity that suited his initial development.
However, joining S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't going to be easy. Tony Stark had probably already informed S.H.I.E.L.D. about him, but Michael hadn't noticed any surveillance yet. The aftermath of the New York battle was still unfolding, and S.H.I.E.L.D. had other priorities. Even if they did contact him, joining Coulson's team wouldn't be a walk in the park.
Fortunately, Michael had a plan. He had spotted Skye, the soon-to-be heroine of *Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.*, who was currently a member of the "Rising Tide" organization and unaware of her future as an agent.
Skye—later known as Quake—had the ability to amplify vibrations and was the only agent to achieve level 10 clearance aside from Nick Fury. She was essential to Michael's future plans.
Now, she hadn't yet joined S.H.I.E.L.D., so Michael planned to approach her first. Once she joined, it would be easier for him to follow her in.
"There she is." Michael muttered, spotting Skye leaving a nearby coffee shop. With her long brown hair and mixed Chinese and Western features, she was hard to miss.
Michael slowly started his car and followed her.
A little further down the street, Skye approached a beat-up white van, which was both her car and her home. Completely unaware she was being tailed, she opened the door and climbed inside.
Michael pulled his convertible up behind her and prepared to get out. But as he stepped out of his car, a figure suddenly appeared before him.
Wearing tight jeans, a fitted T-shirt, and sporting long red hair, the woman was stunning—curvaceous, sexy, and undeniably beautiful.
"Hey, handsome." She said with a smile, "There's a bar nearby. Care to join me for a drink?"
