A few more days passed and more and more things changed in the human settlements in their region. In particular, their two bases—the island and the Port Base— witnessed a lot of upgrades.
For one, the defense system of both territories was being improved by Hugo's tech team. It would take a while longer to complete, but it was already functional and had already defended the territory from various mobs.
Basically, after everything was done, even if a small army of greedy humans decided to attack them for resources, they would have had nothing to worry about.
They would never be complacent, of course. There was a stark difference between the war between people with some brains versus suicidal zombies that'd stop at nothing for a meal—especially if they came in the hundreds of thousands.
The difference was, even if people knew this possibility, they were no longer so scared and hopeless.
