Chapter 42: You Have Us

I knew that I had to do this, because it was the only way to get my loved ones out of Tairia.

After Blake left, I wrote the letter, my hands shaking as I poured my heart into every word. I knew that this was risky, but it was a risk I was willing to take for Trent, Ms. Julie and… my father.

I was still in shock about finding out the truth. I wondered if he was ever going to tell me had he not been captured. I wanted to know why he simply didn’t tell me sooner. I had looked up the pictures of my father on the internet and I wondered why I had not been able to see it before.

He was older and slimmer so thinking he was my uncle had been easy but… Now that he told me, there was no doubt. And there was certainly no way I would let him stay a prisoner when there was so much we needed to talk about and catch up on… He was my father and my only family.

I had to save my loved ones, even if it meant sacrificing my own future and my own happiness.
