Kaiser of the New World

After the alarms, sirens and nuclear warnings, Kai wakes up in an empty white room. With no idea what to do, he just waits for anything to happen...hoping something will happen. Only when the voice of...something... breaks him out of the monotonous life of the white room, he realises the problems he will have to face just to survive. Note - First few chapters are slow, monotonous and downright terrible, I mean, just going back and looking at chapter three has me cringing. My writing gets better as the story goes on, but it still has a few info dumps. The first few chapter are the shortest by far, like chapter 30 is the same length as 1, 2 and part of ch 3 combined. Honestly, you can just skim the first five and then maybe read it a little more in depth. Thanks, and please, go easy on the first chapters, I already hate them. Schedule is new chapter every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Scam

There was still three more classes for Kai to get through before he would make his choice, and who knows, maybe he would even get offered a legendary one.

Hopefully, he would get offered a legendary one.

Awakened Beastial Fusioner (Rare)

Another Rare class, but maybe Rare classes this time were as good as Epic or even Legendary classes that were offered before. Sure, Kai might be consoling himself that two of the four offered classes were Rare, but that was only because he had been pampered with an Epic class early on. What percentage of people would be able to say that? Realistically, majority had to have had a Common or Uncommon class, not everyone would be offered a Rare or Epic class.

So Kai simply just read the description of the class so he could be sure.

To be a beast is to be wild, but being wild is not the same as being a beast. Allows the user to further increase their stats whenever they fuse with an otherworldly creature of the beast variety. When in a fused stat, the user will also have the effects of their skills amplified slightly while having the cost of them reduced minorly. User's skill Contract of Artemis will also receive an upgrade, allowing it to contract another creature, and when contracted, new creature will receive 5 levels instantly. Provides +10 Strength, +10 Dexterity, +10 Constitution, +10 Stamina, +10 Mana and +10 Unasigned stat points per level.

Well, this class was certainly a little different. It seemed that always fusing with Umbra had opened up a new class option for him, considering it was to do with beasts. So that meant that there was different varieties of otherworldly creatures, and that Umbra was a beast type.

Is it kind of like pokemon? No, there wouldn't be that many types... I think..

Still, the class mainly went around strengthening his fusion with Umbra and making them even more of a weapon than they already were. Increased stats meant would be even stronger, increased effects of skills meant Indomitable would be stronger, even the fact that it reduced the cost of skills minorly made Indomitable stronger. Hell, it seemed like the system just really liked when Kai used Indomitable.

This was also the first class Kai had seen that offered him to upgrade a skill while also upgrading class.

Honestly, he wasn't even sure what would have happened if he were to upgrade Contract of Artemis. He had thought that it would just increased the percentage of his stats that he shared with Umbra, but gaining a new slot for a familiar was probably even stronger than that, especially if he could convince his master to give it Grace of The Ever-changing like he had done with Umbra.

So far, Kai thought he would pick this class over the Beacon of Hope one. While it seemed that this class was offered because of his relationship with Umbra, the previous class was definitely offered because of his relationship with Failure, how the charismatic man acted as a beacon for those around him.

However, Kai wasn't going to make the choice until he had looked at all the classes.

And the next class had him a little shocked, yet also a little dissapointed.

Statshifter (Unique)

While it was shocking that statshifting warranted its own unique class, Kai couldn't help but feel down.

The fact that there was a class for it meant that Kai wasn't the first Statshifter in existence, there had been some before him.

Honestly, it's not like he had assumed he was the first, but the idea of moving stats in your soul did seem a little preposterous on paper, enough so that Kai thought it would at least be a rare ability.

So Kai's dream of being the first Statshifter was extinguished nearly as soon as it had began, never to be accomplished as someone had already achieved it before him.

However, when he laid eyes on the description, that spark of hope was ignited once more.

An original and unique classed offered to the progenitor of Statshifting, a never before seen ability. Even though many have tried, you are the first to accomplish this incredible feat. Even if you do not pick this class, you will still gain a lessened version of this class along with the one you choose due to you being the originator. If the user picks this class, they will obtain 1 million unasigned stat points. However, the user will never be able to obtain any stat points from leveling up, they will only be able to gain stats from equipment and percentage boosts. The user will also receive a legacy item, a first of its kind, that will give a random boost to the user. Due to you being the originator of this class, you can either choose to share it with the system for any potential Statshifters to obtain and you will receive rewards for everytime a sentient being picks it, or you can choose to keep it hidden and privately teach it to those you know, allowing them to obtain the class.

Kai's jaw fell slack as he read the description, which seemed to just be increasing in length with every class option he read.

He actually was the first Statshifter, there was no one before him, he was number one, the progenitor, the originator.

For whatever reason, no one had been able to do it before him. Maybe it was to do with his innate ability, or maybe it was to do with something else entirely, but Kai was the first Statshifter of all time.

That itself was an incredible achievement, one Kai should be super proud of, yet he couldn't help but feel a little shitty about the option.

Why did it feel like the system was trying to scam him?

A million unasigned stats points right now but he would never be able to gain any stat points naturally anymore, was that even worth it? How many stat points did the average god have?

Even better, if his Epic class gave eighteen unasigned stat points, and now a Rare class gave sixty, then how much would it continue to increase as class selections went on? Was it really worth it to pick this class when it could potentially just be a handicap?

And it's not like he could just ask his master, considering they were away on some sort of important business slash revenge arc, meaning Kai was completetly alone in making the choice.

Then, there was also the mention of a legacy item, the first of its kind that only Kai would have, but what even was a legacy item?

A super strong set of armour that was impenetrable unless someone directly attacked Kai's soul? A blade that can cut through one's physical body and target their souls, draining their stats for Kai's personal statshifting collection? Or maybe just a tin can that generated one stat point every year that Kai could put into a stat of his choice.

He had no way of knowing, it was a gamble that could potentially end up horribly.

In fact, the whole class was a gamble. A million stat points was definitely a lot at this stage, and it would just allow Kai to cruise by and probably reach level one hundred super easily, but what after that? A massive road block that could only be cleared by spending loads of money to buy the best gear possible.

It reminded Kai a little too much of a gacha game, and since his luck was absolutely terrible in those, he was not a gambling man. Neither was his father, or his father's father, or his father's father's father, gambling had remained out of Kai's family for generations, and Kai was not going to break that streak.

No, if anyone was going to break his streak, it would potentially be one of Kai's children, if he ever had any, considering the world was going to be vastly different after he got out of the white room. He still had absolutely no idea what to expect after this stage of the tutorial ended. After all, stage two ending had put them inside a massive living forest infested by horrible abominations.

And that was only stage three.

What if there was a stage four? Or a stage five? Or even a stage six? What would happen then?

So Kai needed strength for whatever was to come, and even though this class offered immense, immediate strength, he did not trust it, not one bit, it was just way too scammy to be good. Maybe the system just wasn't happy that someone was able to rearrange the stats it had allocated in the class selection, but it wasn't Kai's fault that he was just built for Statshifting, blame his incredibly genius mind for coming up with the idea.

And its not like he was the first person to think of it, he was just the first person to accomplish it.

So you can't blame a fool for trying, but you can can blame a fool for achieving what he attempted? That's stupid.

Still, there was another class that Kai was yet to look at, and if he was going off the previous classes he had been offered, then this one was sure to be decent too.

However, Kai's eyes couldn't help but widen as he read the name of the final class.

Statshifting Soulcerist of Change (Legendary)

Goddamn that was a long class description
