Reborn in the mythological era of Journey to the West, the goal is to become a powerful demon king! Gobble up Tang Monk's flesh, and the White Bone Spirit... Wait! Tang Monk's flesh might not taste so good, not to mention being protected by a host of Bodhisattvas and the big boss, Tathagata Buddha. Most importantly, being born from the same stone as Sun Wukong, I've become a black-furred monkey, his only close brother. How can I survive well in an era filled with gods and Buddhas, even changing Sun Wukong's fate, while also mastering the Golden Core path, pursuing immortality, and gaining cosmic powers beyond imagination? It all starts with careful planning for the future.
After Pusa Pilanp's primal spirit fled to The Heavenly Court, she did not seek out The Jade Emperor but instead went to her own incarnation, the Rainbow-Clad Fairy, and didn't mention anything about the Grade World-Destroying Black Lotus.
The origin of the Rainbow-Clad Fairy is indeed peculiar, paralleling how Shi Yue created an avatar using his essence and blood. The Rainbow-Clad Fairy was initially an egg laid by Pusa Pilanp herself, of female nature, and she refined it into her avatar, which was then placed beside The Jade Emperor.
In essence, they were one and the same. Upon their spirits merging, she immediately understood the entire situation, ascending to the level of a Taiyi Golden Immortal. The only missing component was her original dharma body; once retrieved, the Rainbow-Clad Fairy's cultivation would swiftly rise to that of a Taiyi Golden Immortal. Hence, she was determined to recover her dharma body, harboring deep hatred toward Shi Yue.
As for her dharma body, its future would unfold in ways even Shi Yue could not foresee. Initially, Shi Yue had good-natured intentions, jokingly thinking it would be fun to savor some "rooster" flavors alongside Senior Sister Taiyin, possibly even using it as an opportunity to woo her. Yet, unexpectedly, he was overtaken by lustful impulses and, while Taiyin slept, he indulged himself by consuming her form.
As a result, he left, leaving Pusa Pilanp's dharma body in the cave. Taiyin, losing interest, left as well, and so the Measure Heaven Cave contained a Taiyi Golden Immortal-level body, or one might say a demon body. Surprisingly, this dharma body was later consumed by a newly-transformed minor demon, instantaneously becoming a regional demon king. Claiming to be a disciple of the "Measure Heaven Patriarch," this character incidentally became a calamity along the Journey to the West—a tale left for another time.
As for the Rainbow-Clad Fairy, realizing that despite Shi Yue's enduring suffering under the True Samadhi Fire, he refused to disclose the location of the Twelfth Grade World-Destroying Black Lotus, her hatred became boundless.
After learning that Shi Yue hailed from the human realm's Flower Fruit Mountain, in East Victory Continent, she wished for The Jade Emperor to send celestial soldiers to capture everyone there. However, The Jade Emperor demurred, insisting the matter be considered at length, dragging on for over a decade, which only fueled her resentment. Thus, she began to devise her own plans.
Having journeyed from primeval chaos to enter The Heavenly Court, Pilanpo or, as she was known there, the Rainbow-Clad Fairy, was well-acquainted with the gods of The Heavenly Court. She knew that Ma Guangtai, The Marshal of the Heavenly Canopy who commanded 300,000 heavenly river troops, though not highly cultivated, held a lofty position and was known for being foolish and wealthy—traits that made him popular among many fairy maidens.
Naturally, the Rainbow-Clad Fairy sought out Ma Guangtai—who, despite his lofty position, was essentially a foolish playboy. While he had seen many of The Heavenly Court's fairies, he had never encountered someone as enchanting as the Rainbow-Clad Fairy. Overwhelmed, Ma Guangtai spent days in her company.
However, being the profligate that he was, taking his promises lightly, Ma Guangtai, having had his fill of pleasure, simply walked away, reminding everyone that the 300,000 heavenly river troops weren't to be moved at his whim.
Infuriated, possessing only the power of a celestial maiden's avatar in The Heavenly Court, the Rainbow-Clad Fairy tearfully returned to The Jade Emperor, accusing Ma Guangtai of assault.
Outraged upon hearing this, The Jade Emperor, acting swiftly without investigation, demoted Ma Guangtai, The Marshal of the Heavenly Canopy, sending him down to the mortal world. Though unwilling to destroy his spirit entirely, he exacted his punishment.
Driven by unresolved anger, The Jade Emperor arranged for Ma Guangtai to be reborn as a pig in the mortal world, publicly stating that he had harassed the Rainbow Princess as a kind of cover-up. Although not particularly capable and generally seen as a layabout, Ma Guangtai was nonetheless a Marshal of The Heavenly Court, in charge of 300,000 heavenly river troops, indicating strong connections. An explanation was necessary.
Ma Guangtai was terrified, never imagining that his few days of dalliance with the Rainbow-Clad Fairy was with The Jade Emperor's favored Rainbow Princess. As he was bound for the execution platform, he thought he was doomed but unexpectedly awoke from his stupor, not as a marshal but a pig.
Despite this, he considered himself lucky to have survived, relieved to have escaped death. As a piglet with no magic powers, spotting his old weapon nearby reignited his excitement. While powerless now, his spiritual consciousness remained intact, and with his weapon, he felt safe from harm in the mortal realm.
He thought, why fret over being reborn as a pig after having enjoyed the princess? The Jade Emperor wouldn't recognize him in this form. Planning to regain his powers and become a demon king in the mortal world, leveraging his carefree nature, he might even enjoy more freedom than he ever did as the Marshal of the Heavenly Canopy. This attitude was quintessential Ma Guangtai.
In truth, Ma Guangtai had never known much about himself other than his extreme luck, stumbling through life to become a Heavenly Court Marshal, spending countless years in a daze. The disaster triggered him to think more deeply.
He vividly recalled the Rainbow Princess approaching him willingly, wanting him to command the heavenly river troops to destroy the mortal realm's Flower Fruit Mountain. In hindsight, after the calamity, it seemed fraught with hidden motives.
Why didn't the Rainbow Princess ask The Jade Emperor for help? Who at Flower Fruit Mountain could have wronged her to such an extent, compelling her to offer herself for revenge...
Ma Guangtai was puzzled and hummed softly, feeling drowsy and promptly falling asleep—a truly accepting mindset.
Even Shi Yue would have to admire this lot—Ma Guangtai was a simple-minded fellow, obviously missing a few screws!
Meanwhile, the Rainbow Princess, having both lost her leverage and been wronged, poured her wrath onto Shi Yue.
Shi Yue had long lost conscious awareness, reduced to raw instincts, continually roaring like a beast under the True Samadhi Fire's torment. Only a shred of determination remained in him: to endure one more day would buy his mischievous senior sister, Taiyin, an extra day to refine the Grade World-Destroying Black Lotus. The idea of its futility never crossed his mind.
He relentlessly pressed on, unaware of how different his situation was from Sun Wukong's in the Eight Trigrams Furnace. Lord Lao Zi of the Great Monad, immensely powerful, couldn't care less whether Sun Wukong lived, even if he usurped The Jade Emperor's throne.
Lord Lao Zi sought to use Sun Wukong ingesting countless celestial herbs to revert him and create the legendary chaos pill—a plan treating Sun Wukong as just another ingredient. Yet, the outcome was unexpected; Sun Wukong achieved Nirvana and Enlightenment, developing Fiery Eyes and Golden Gaze. With that snafu, Lord Lao Zi walked away, exasperated but unable to resolve the fallout.
Stone Yue, however, endured the agony of the True Samadhi Fire, akin to relentless torture, with survival and death both hanging by a thread. Yet, prolonged endurance eventually leads to transformation.
His resolve, stemming from indomitable will and indefatigable perseverance, reached his senior sister Taiyin, seated on the Grade World-Destroying Black Lotus beyond the Thirty-Three Heavens. Feeling his presence, she opened her eyes and smiled knowingly, her eyes filled with warmth.
With a serene smile, she mused, "Junior Brother, your longing brings me joy. Your efforts haven't gone unnoticed, but I won't indulge you just yet. Let you miss me a little longer, as a small payback. In time, you'll have a pleasant surprise."
"The Twelfth Grade World-Destroying Black Lotus has finally been refined by me; it's mine now, truly full of wondrous and formidable power. From now on, even the Da Luo cannot intimidate me; no one shall bully you, my dear junior brother. Your words… they leave me both bashfully ashamed and infinitely sweet inside. I cherish your deep feelings, though you remain unaware. If you please me, I will let you know my kindness; but if you displease me, even your deep feelings will be in vain, and I won't make it easy for you."
As Taiyin sat gracefully upon the Grade World-Destroying Black Lotus, her skin, already as pure as jade, seemed even more sacred and jade-like in the lotus's glow, with an almost white luminescence emanating subtly.
A sheer black veil wrapped around her body, accentuating her delicate and graceful figure, and even the countless freckles on her face seemed to twinkle like stars, casting a faint brilliance. If Shi Yue were to see her now, his eyes would widen, and he wouldn't be able to resist shouting, "Oh, Black Lotus Bodhisattva, Black Lotus Fairy, come quick into my arms!"
The dark petals of the lotus around her seemed alive, responding with a flash of mysterious light to her slightest thought, instantly enveloping her.
If Shi Yue heard her musings, he would likely break into a sweat, thinking how typical of a woman's unique logic: when she's pleased, she gives you a sweet reward, but if you displease her, even deep feelings are forgotten, and she'd reprimand you. Truly, even divine beings can't change their nature.
Meanwhile, the Water Curtain Cave of Flower Fruit Mountain, sealed for over ten years, finally opened as Sun Wukong achieved the Taiyi Dao.
Overwhelmed with a sense of boundless pride, Sun Wukong let out a long howl as he emerged from the Water Curtain Cave, causing the sky above Flower Fruit Mountain to churn with rolling demon clouds.
In no time, the Four Marshals, twelve commanders, and the seventy-two cave demon kings gathered, all cheering, "Congratulations, Great King, on emerging!" The Four Marshals, being closer to him, couldn't help but ask, "Great King, have you attained the Taiyi Dao?"
The demons of Flower Fruit Mountain were no longer the unthinking bumpkins they once were.
Filled with excitement, Sun Wukong didn't want to diminish his reputation before his followers and promptly nodded in affirmation. His mind couldn't help but think, "Now I am also a Taiyi; I'm not inferior to my brother or my senior sister."
Indeed, the Monkey King loved to save face and show off. After being expelled by Patriarch Bodhi, he left without understanding the reason, full of resentment and sorrow. All his achievements were born of the desire to prove himself. Like a fledgling eager to show its flight to heights, he longed to prove to Patriarch Bodhi his prowess! His reckless antics had been a form of rebellion, shouting to the world, "You abandoned me!"
Perhaps he also wished to boast to his brother Shi Yue and sister Taiyin, displaying the tens of thousands of demon soldiers of Flower Fruit Mountain. Since Shi Yue had already seen his "achievements," Sun Wukong's longing for him stemmed more from the desire to know if their master regretted his decision, and if Shi Yue and Taiyin had also been expelled, seeking a balance.
The only element missing was for Sister Taiyin to witness his accomplishments. His thoughts of her were primarily to impress her. Once expelled, only his brother Shi Yue and sister Taiyin remained his closest kin. He felt little toward other senior brothers who'd once been close.
He began developing a psychological dependency on the two, as they became his closest family. Shi Yue's efforts to cover for his mischief in the East Sea felt natural, and wanting to defend Senior Sister Taiyin became an extension of familial love. This is why, in the future, when the Black Lotus Fairy descends to the mortal world, he would unabashedly cry in sorrow.
