23 - Festival

[With Giyu & Kala]

When Giyu and Kala got back to Yasaka Shrine it was already noon. They met the chief tengu and was told that the festival would start at 6:00.

They had about one to an hour and a half to get ready. Kala used the time to go find some traditional kimono's to wear as eve though she didn't need to she wanted to do it since it was to commemorate her first Japanese festival.

As for Giyu he just found wore a normal blue yukata along with his haori over it. If someone were to look at him they would say that he looked like a samurai form the the Edo period. All he needed to complete the look was to hang his sword on his waist and tie his hair to a high ponytail. Though he wouldn't do that since Giyu thought that low ponytails were so much cooler.

" Ah! Giyu-dono that outfit suits you so well " someone said

Turning his head he saw the tengu that we worked with to rescue Kunou. He looked at him and scanned his outfit. He was what he wore the standard black and gray yukata he wore last time. He also stopped calling him 'sama' since Giyu had told him to.

"... You aren't going to wear anything else? " Giyu asked as Karasu-maru scratched the feather behind his head.

" Eh... ah, I like these clothes better since they are more comfortable " The tengu said as he was quite embarrassed since he didn't dress up at all.

Giyu merely nodded in understanding.

" Well then Giyu-dono , I will be going first. I hope you and Kalawarner-dono enjoy yourselves, we youkai worked hard for this last minute festival to show our thanks after all." The tengu said

" Hn, that's a given " Giyu said as he nodded towards the tengu who nodded back at him before leaving to the festival's location.

" Did I keep you waiting?" a feminine voice was heard from behind Giyu.

Turning around he caught the sight of Kalawarner wearing a blue kimono which perfectly matched her hair. It was Navy blue with a design that had flowers of different color designing it. To top it off she had her hair tied to a ponytail which added up her charm.

" Beautiful " Giyu said out loud to which Kala blushed

" Do you really think so? This is the first time I'm wearing something like this" She said embarassed

" Of course, you look beautiful in anything " Giyu said with a smile but Kala who blushed even harder playfully hit him in the arm.

" W-well enough about me, how about you? That look suits you, all you need is a sword on your waist then you will look like a samurai" Kala said smugly

" Haha very funny, let's go " Giyu said as he held out his hand.

Kalawarner looked at his stretched out hand for a few seconds before she smiled brilliantly and reached out.

" Sure!"

{a/n: That's right ladies and gentlemen, they are now at the stage where they shamelessly hold hands in PUBLIC}

...

"Hey wann go over there!" Kalawarner excitedly pointed as she pointed towards a booth

" Sure " Giyu said as he nodded.

They headed off to a booth that sold candy apples. When they got there Giyu asked how much was for one but the male youkai shook his head before he replied.

"Don't worry Giyu-sama, Yasaka-Sama told us about you two. Everything in the festival is free for the both of you. It is to show the gratitude pf us youkai for rescuing Kunou-sama"

" Is that so? Well then may I get two" Giyu said, he wasn't really surprised at such a development since he saved their princess after all.

The youkai nodded as he enthusiastically gave both Giyu and Kala canndy apples. " Please come again!" He said

As they both left the booth Kala couldn't help but ask again " Is it really okay to get everything for free?" making Giyu chuckle

" Of course, it's to show their gratitude for helping their faction. in fact it would be even more rude of us if we didn't participate" Giyu said

"Hmm, really?" she said as she took a bite of the candy apple

"Really" Giyu confirmed as he too took a bite.

"It's really sweet!" Kala said as she began to finish it. Giyu also began to eat and was quite surprised at how good it was.

This was also his first time having a real japanese festival. Back in his previous life he did enter festivals but it wasn't in japan. It was just in his city that were hosted by Japanese people since where he was in there was a large number of them that lived in the area. Every year they would do a festival and as such Giyu sometimes went.

He had to admit it was more beautiful, since it was actually filled with lanterns and what made it an even more cheerful sight was all the different kinds of youkai around. All different sizes, flying or not, they were all here.

"It really is beautiful" Giyu said to Kalawarner who also nodded as she finished up her candy apple.

The two went around enjoying the free pass and tried out many different games ranging from a cork shooting one to gold fish scooping. Along the way they also tried out many types of sweets and foods.

By the time it was nearing midnight Giyu went ahead and took Kalawarners hand and led her somewhere.

" Hey, Giyu where are we going? " Kala asked

" You might not know this but at every festival, they end it with a fireworks show at midnight. I'm taking you to a spot I found earlier that has a good view " Giyu said

" Hmm, fireworks? Those flashy bright lights that explode at the sky? " Kala said, she had been in Grigori most of her life and only went out to missions so she didn't know much of the outside world except for general knowledge on modern tech.

After a few more minutes they finally stopped at a vast open space on top of a hill. It was hard to get to as you had to go past through many tree's.

" Hey how did you find this? " Kala asked

" When we went to where Kunou was being held captive. I spotted this area as we were flying " Answered Giyu. It was indeed so, as when he flew he had his sharingan active making him memorize the whole flight.

" Oh, I see " Kala said as she nodded.

They talked for a little while before they saw that it was just about to hit midnight.

" I'm glad that we get to relax like this, before I met you I really only focused on missions " Kala said. Giyu only remained silent as he listened to her talk

" I'm glad that I met you Giyu " Kalawarner said

" Me too " Giyu said before he turned to look at her. But when he did so he widened his eyes.

*Boom!* *Boom!*

The sounds of the fireworks and light flashed lighting up the hill on where both Giyu and Kala were on to reveal Kalawarner's lips on Giyu's.

It was only a second later before Giyu also returned it with his own passionate one. They both continued on as the fireworks flashed in the backround.

*Boom!*
