Chapter 2 Orphanage

When Samuel woke up and slowly opened his eyes, he found himself staring at the weathered wooden ceiling of a white room. His first instinct was to use his chakra, but to his surprise, there was none. Samuel thought about the power of the genjutsu cast by Madara.

Despite numerous attempts to dispel the genjutsu, using techniques he had mastered, but the result was negative. He found no chakra or pathways in his body and making him uncertain of his next move. However, Itachi—or Samuel, as he was now called—was not one to give up easily. Finally, in a last-ditch effort, he tried a chakra meditation technique, hoping for a breakthrough.

To his astonishment, he felt a new form of energy entering his body—a substance akin to chakra in essence but at the same time different. Instead of flowing through traditional pathways, it coalesced into a small, vibrant core within him.

Only later would Itachi come to understand that he had formed a deep red core, a phenomenon unique to newborns in this world. What he initially mistook as a technique to extract chakra from the air turned out to be his first encounter with accumulation—a technique that allowed individuals to harness mana from the ambient environment to enhance their bodies and cores.

Just as Samuel pondered his next steps, his thoughts were interrupted by the entrance of two figures into the room. They appeared to be nuns, conversing in a foreign language that Samuel could not comprehend. His mind raced to make sense of his surroundings—this language seemed different from the familiar realms of the four great elemental nations.

The first nun, Samantha, appeared to be in her early thirties, though the toll of time seemed apparent on her fair-skinned face, marked by visible pores and tousled red hair. Despite her disheveled appearance, there was a warmth in her gaze.

Following Samantha was Alberta, an older nun in her late forties, who exuded a gentle authority that marked her as Samantha's superior. Standing at a petite 1.50 meters, Alberta possessed an oval face framed by hair that bore shades of green and blue, her piercing blue eyes radiating kindness.

As Samuel observed them, a thought crossed his mind— that fashion trends in this world had evolved significantly.

Alberta confided in Samantha, "It's the third child this year." She lamented the hurried pace of bringing children into a world unprepared to care for them. Samantha usually nodded in agreement with her boss.

However, she too acknowledged that their kingdom was hardly an ideal place for a child to grow up. Rampant poverty, frequent Magic Beast attacks, and recurring famines plagued the citizens, made life unbearable.

Despite these hardships, Samantha found solace in her work at an orphanage near Distar Marquisate's capital in the Canra region. She was grateful that their region was relatively prosperous, thanks to a capable lord who managed to shield them from funding issues.

While the two nuns conversed, Samuel, a young child, struggled to comprehend their words. Finally noticing his confusion, Alberta hurried over, scooped him into her arms, and declared, "Who could abandon such a sweet child? Even if you lack parents, we will cherish you with all our hearts."

Alberta's words resonated with genuine care, stirring emotions within Samuel. Samantha joined them, noting how Samuel, far from being unattractive, possessed a unique charm not often found in children his age. She couldn't help but admire his looks and eyes; even at a young age, he seemed to possess a wisdom beyond his years—a trait that, if she were on Earth, might have marked him as a talented psychologist or interrogator.

Despite not understanding the conversation around him, Samuel focused on what he could do best: patiently waiting for the genjutsu to pass. Soon, Alberta approached him again, reciting a few words that enveloped him in a comforting white light, lulling him into a peaceful sleep.

As Samuel dozed off, he was amazed to wake in a completely new environment.

As Samuel continued to grow, several realizations dawned upon him. Firstly, he began to think of himself as Samuel not Itachi, embracing this new identity in his adopted world.

Secondly, he came to understand that this was not a mere illusion or genjutsu; he had indeed been reincarnated into a new body in a different world. This revelation shook him initially, yet he accepted the same.

Thirdly, the harsh reality sank in: he would not experience the warmth and belonging of a traditional family in this life. Reflecting on the women he vaguely remembered from his birth, he speculated that one of them might have been his biological mother.

Despite these unsettling thoughts, Samuel remained surprisingly composed. The lack of a conventional family did not disturb him as much as it might have others; perhaps, because he had already faced such losses in his past life.

Samuel's contemplations were interrupted by the bustling activities of the orphanage where he lived. Nestled in the relatively stable Canra region, the orphanage provided a sanctuary amidst the turmoil of their kingdom. Here, he found solace in the routines and the caring nuns who looked after him. Alberta and Samantha, in particular, treated him with unwavering kindness, despite knowing little of his true origins.

As Samuel grew older, his unique insights and perceptive nature continued to set him apart. He observed the world around him with a keen eye, often pondering the complexities of human interactions and the broader societal challenges faced by their kingdom.

While he lacked a conventional family, he found a sense of belonging within the walls of the orphanage and amidst the nurturing presence of Alberta and Samantha.; and other children at the orphanages

In moments of quiet reflection, Samuel wondered about his purpose in this new life. He felt a calling, a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful impact.

Whether it was unraveling the mysteries of his past or forging a path of his own in this unfamiliar world, he had many questions and too few answers.

But he still had only on wish i.e. to live a simple and fulfilling life without the struggles he had faced before.

Life at the orphanage proved to be a profound transition for Samuel, who despite his young age, carried with him the maturity of someone who had been the son of a clan head in his previous life.

Nestled in a serene corner of the Canra region, the orphanage provided Samuel with love without any responsibility. Here, children from diverse backgrounds sought refuge, each carrying their own stories of loss and resilience.

Samuel, now aware of his unique abilities with mana accumulation, spent his days exploring this newfound power. Under Samantha's guidance and Alberta's watchful eye as Samantha's superior, he honed his skills, learning to harness mana from the environment to strengthen his body and core. This practice not only enriched his physical capabilities but also deepened his understanding of the mana prevalent in this world.

The orphanage housed a small community of children, each with their own distinct personalities:

Lyla The oldest at twelve years old, Lyla had sleek black and silver hair that framed her face, complementing her piercing blue eyes. Despite her age, she bore a solemn demeanor, often taking on the responsibility of caring for the younger children with a gentle touch.

Ron: A spirited boy with fiery red hair and matching red eyes, Ron's face was dotted with freckles that seemed to dance across his cheeks whenever he smiled. Full of energy and curiosity, Ron often led the other children in playful escapades around the orphanage grounds.

Emily: A shy but imaginative girl with golden blonde curls that cascaded down her shoulders. Her hazel eyes sparkled with curiosity as she explored the mysteries of the orphanage garden, often lost in her own world of stories and daydreams.

Owen: A quiet and introspective boy with tousled yellow hair and deep green eyes. Owen preferred the company of books, often found lost in tales of adventure and heroism, his mind wandering to distant lands beyond the orphanage walls.

Ella: A petite girl with chestnut brown hair tied in two neat braids, framing her rosy cheeks and bright hazel eyes. Ella possessed a nurturing spirit, always ready to comfort her fellow children and tend to the orphanage's garden with loving care.

Jacob: A mischievous boy with silver hair that always seemed tousled from his escapades. His bright green eyes twinkled with mischief as he devised playful pranks to entertain the other children, his laughter echoing through the halls of the orphanage.

Despite the semblance of peace within the orphanage walls, echoes of the outside world occasionally reached them. Rumors of political unrest, magic beast incursions, and famines underscored the fragile peace they enjoyed.

In quieter moments, Samuel delved into introspection, grappling with the weight of his past actions and the uncertainty of his future. Memories of his previous life, marked by tragedy, weighed heavily on his conscience.
