CHAPTER 17

"PLEASE ARRANGE A MEETING FOR ME WITH DRAKE ANDERSON ASAP!!!" I told Lauren and she nodded. She walked away to make the phone call.

"Eleanor don't act impulsively. Calm down first... Drake was only worried about you ...", Adam consoled me but I wasn't getting down with it. How could Drake just do that?

He wasn't the only person starring in this movie. So was I. I know I didn't have much power like he did but we both signed a contract and as long as we did, we were on the same page.

"Eleanor you do remember his father's company in collaboration with India is the huge investor to this movie....?" Gemini asked and I turned to him.

"What are you talking about?"

"Elroi Anderson, one of the biggest enterepneur in the world invested in the movie under Mercedes-Benz and Canon companies. They invested fifty million dollars into this movie and in collaboration with India, they gave twenty million dollars. So if you decide what to do, you better keep that in to consideration. If you annoy Drake one bit, I think he might withdraw and this whole production will go down the drain...." My sick money-loving manager laid it all in front of me and my jaw dropped.

Drake invested so much money in this movie. Why was that?

He had already starred in over twenty films. On top of that, his films have grossed over $3.5 billion in North America and over $10.5 billion worldwide, making him one of the world's highest-grossing actors. Three years ago, he released the autobiography Drake the man, a New York Times bestseller. In 2011, he founded the production company Six Swans Productions, which has produced several films and other entertainment projects. And now I hear his father is an entrepreneur who also invested in the movie?? He already had so much money and I know for a fact the pay he was getting from this movie didn't mean anything compared to the cash he had. More like a drop in the ocean. Consistently ranked among the world's highest-paid actors, Drake made the Time 100 Most Influential People in the World list in 2016 and 2019, and is the co-owner of the Buenos football league.

This guy had everything he wanted. Anything.

"Eleanor....are you listening? What are you thinking about?" Gemini jerked my shoulder and startled me.

"What???" I asked in confusion.

"Drake says he'll see you at lunch. In fact, he was already expecting you...." Lauren added the last part with a quizzical look.

"Oh yeah...I...owe him lunch...." I sighed and got up from my seat. I walked to the window and looked at the noisy big street.

So calming like the sea waves hitting against the rocks.

"Eleanor...." Gemini's low voice gave away the fact that he had something serious to talk to me about.

"Martin wants to apologize to you on behalf of the agency for how Natalia treated you and he wants to talk to you over dinner at his place..." he spoke in a very low voice.

"Why?? Because I have connections with Drake Anderson? Does the agency apologize to every mistreated conduct over their models or it's just me??"

"Eleanor.....shhh.! There are security cameras in here and we could be recorded. Be mindful of your speech please....I personally think this is a far fetched sick opportunity. It's not just some manager but in fact the CEO of Star Records apologizing to you. Do you know not even an actor of your paying rank can get an invite to his house on a silver platter???"

"I know....if you're a man you have to pay a lot of cash and if you're a woman,you trade it with the bed....",

"Eleanor!!!" he yelled at me and raised his hand to slap me but Adam quickly got hold of it.

"Don't you dare....!" he hissed. His dark, cold eyes were filled with rage and a hint of guilt. He was torturing himself because when the incident happened, he wasn't there with me.

"Let go of my hand...." Gemini protested but Adam didn't seem to want to let go.

"I only tolerate you because you're her manager but trust me, we'd be down the road downtown man to man just you and me right now....and I promise, I wouldn't be the one bleeding...." Adam scared Gemini and he went wandering with his tail between his legs.

He stormed out of the room in amber and smashed the door against the frame before he walked out.

"Are you alright....??"he asked giving me a hug. " Am sorry...I wasn't there for you when it happened...."

"It's alright Adam, you weren't there. You're not Zeus....or Hercules or Thor..."

"W-what?" he chuckled.

"You're not a god...." I repeated and got him to laugh.

"No am not...."

"Exactly...don't beat yourself too much....it was no one's fault. We all just have issues we need to deal with personally....like seeing a psychiatrist one or two times a month doesn't hurt....." I joked and he laughed.

He hugged me tight and I returned the favour.

I loved this man with all my heart and he was a blessing unto me from above.

There was no one like him and there wouldn't be anyone like him. He was specifically made for me and me alone. No one would ever take him away from me.

He kissed my hair and my forehead followed. I was excited to be in his arms again as I totally missed the feeling over the past two days.

I looked at his face and loved just how ever feature was perfectly placed in place.

Very handsome.

Suddenly, his lips covered mine in a long warm embrace that left me breathless. I kissed him back and it felt like it was our first time.

The magic, the ignition the fire was all brand new and burning with finesse. It was extraordinary. More extraterrestrial....

"Ehem!! Cough, cough, cough....there's uh...something in my throat...cough..." Lauren interrupted and Adam and I laughed. We turned to her simultaneously.

"What is it???" I asked.

"Ummm...I think I should also get going...." she shrugged her hands and matched for the door.

"Byeee..."

"I'll come pick you have for lunch....." she promised and I shook my head.

"That's not necessary....ask Brian to drop me....that's his job...." I assured her and she nodded.

Unlike Gemini, she gracely closed the door leaving Adam with me to carry on what we were doing.
