Chapter 8: Terra

The next day...

I had my meal, the roasted poison dragon meat and was fortunately not poisoned, though I doubt that poison can even affect me, and even if it did, I still got the [Earth Essence] so no worries~.

After eating a hundred kilos of it, my black hole of a stomach was finally satisfied even though only barely, but still satisfied.

Haist~. If I'm asked what's the most disadvantageous trate of a dragon, then I'll say it's our insatiable stomach that cannot be satisfied by a few kilos of meat but needs to at least a hundred kilos of everything to be satisfied.

Anyway, let's not talk about that any more.

Oh! And before I forget, because of the newly upgraded ability [Devour], I got a new skill! And I tell you, it's pretty cool~.

[Wing Blades]

- you've got three pairs of majestic looking wings, what are doing and only using it to fly? This skill utilizes every pair of your wings and their bladed tips to attack, or with the use of your mana to send wind blades.

I know it's pretty simple compared to the others from yesterday, but in my opinion, I still think that it's pretty cool!

Imaginine doing this attack in the middle of a pack of wolves or any other beast packs, hehe he... That would be a total slaughter~.

OH, wait. I think my inner battle maniac personality is taking over me, so let's stop here for now with this skill and focus on what I'm about to do.

Yes, what I'm about to do is really important. I finally decided to move to the civilization!

And before I'll do that, I'll first need to decide whether to move in as a half dragon, a human, a dragon newt, or maybe just find a dragon civilization or something like that, which lead me to a stand still with my decisions. But after considering all of the possibilities and advantages and disadvantages of all options, in the end I chose to turn into human, and go with my original plan.

With that thought, I mentally tapped my innate ability that's been there all along but didn't even use it in the slightest.

Two options were shown in white glowing texts,

[Dragon Newt]

[Full Human]

Looking over these two options, I looked into their descriptions one by one, just to be safe.

[Dragon Newt]

- even though feared by few because of their nature and capabilities, they are mostly scorned by most because of their origin.

Dragons don't accept them as their kind, humans or other races don't either because of their "Superiority Complex".

They're treated as trashes in the society between all races and only a few of them were ever been recognized through their achievements.

[Full Human]

- one of the primary races in the world and one with the highest population count in the continent. Humans are powerful beings because of their [Roots], which covered their weaknesses for not being as united as the other races.

"Hm~. Considering all their flaws and benefits, I'll go with [Full Human]. Besides, I already have my [Root], it'll be a waste not to use it, right? And also, I don't want to be scorned, lest I'll forever be a loner..."

So with that, I took a deep breath and tapped the [Full Human] option.

Crimson flames erupted around me, covering me inside it. And despite being wrapped with this crimson flame, I don't feel the burning sensation, or even the heat. Instead, I felt as if a warm blanket has enveloped my whole body, making me feel extreme comfort.

Then comes the changes.

My skeletal structure began changing, making my posture more human as my size began shrinking.

My neck began to shorten, along with my draconic face began warping, changing to that of a human's.

My horns began to retract back into my skull, and my dagger like teeth, fangs, whatever you call them, also began reshaping.

My claws, spikes, my tail, all retracted.

And finally, my three pairs of wings began retreating into my back.

My scale armor receded into my muscles, only leaving my soft skin.

This process only took more than a few seconds, but it felt like dozens of minutes have passed for me.

I think this is because it's my first time transforming, and my senses have jumbled up a little so I didn't mind.

"Wow, that... Was a new experience."

I said and brought my hand to my forehead that I was finally able to do without hurting my own face!

Man, it was really hard controlling your every move as the slightest wrong action may end for me being injured on my own~.

I mean, how shameful would that be, right? But it happened to me, a lot of times even.

Anyways, back to the topic.

After rubbing my forehead from my slight headache and finally feeling the touch of skin which, I somehow missed. But hey, don't judge me, you try being a dragon then if you like, let's see what will happen.

I looked down at my hands, moved my fingers, clenched it into a fist, and unclenched it again.

Feeling the long lost sensation coming back brought a smile to my face.

I walked towards the pool to look at my reflection.

And what can I say... I'm shocked.

A boy with neat but slightly spiky crimson hair looks back at me.

Sword like eyebrows with sky blue pupils, tall nose with the whole face possessing a perfect contour.

Lean body with tightly packed muscles with tall figure of 5'8, too tall for his age.

And finally, my eyes landed on the little brother and it's... Majestic.

This body was as if sculpted by God's to perfection! From looks to body figure, charm in every way!

"What the hell?! This is me?!"

I exclaimed loudly in shock. Soon my shocked expression crumbled and once again exclaimed.

"Why?! Why did I became a boy toy~?!"

My voice echoed through the whole cave as my "remorseful" cries were unleashed.

"I was hoping to have a cool guy appearance and not a boy toy~!!!"

After twenty minutes... Wow, that long. Even the effects from my unique skill was not able to forcefully calm me down.

"*Sigh* I guess is for the best... It still beats being ugly..."

I said in a defeated tone.

"But... I still have a problem... Just where in the nine levels of hell in this forest can I get proper clothes?"

I asked with my hand on my chin and wondered.

It's not like I can sew on my own, right? Sure I have all the materials, especially leathers and pelts, but I don't have the skill with sewing or dressmaking. And even though if I somehow got through it and managed to make something, I'm sure it will look... Horible. Just thinking about it makes me cringe my nose So that idea is a no go.

"But then, how?"

And just at that moment, as if it is a godsend, well actually it is~, the System notification sounded.

[*Ding* Trial period has ended. From here on out, changes will be added.

"That-that was just the trial period? Haha... Hahaha... Hahahahaha~! Trial period! To hell it was! I even lost my life once and nearly died on several occasions and that just a trial period? Stop kidding me."

I said with a mocking tone and eyebrows turned into a frown.

[*Ding* You are misunderstanding things, host. The trial period was only for the faster acquisition of skills and abilities and not the stage or the level of hardness of your hardships.]

"Oh... Hehe... So that's how it is~. Sorry."

I said.

Wow, that was actually embarrassing.

The System didn't respond, guess it really is not sentient but, still... I'm really sorry.

"Well... Let's look at the Beginner's Package."

I said and called out my Inventory.

I mentally tapped on the shining crimson box that looks like the cube from Transformers in a different color... But I think it was just my imagination.

"Fumu~. It really is a beginner's package, not an OP beginner's package but just a normal one. That's a bummer... But oh well, beggars can't be choosers. Let's get clothed."

Three sets of clothes with different styles was shown on the screen, completed from head to ttoe From outer wear and inner wear. Underwear, socks, shoes or boots.

The first selection is a simple and easy to move in type. Comprised of a black goodie, white v-neck t-shirt, stretchable jeans, socks, and mettalic black combat boots.

The second selection is more on defense. It comprised of a black and crimson coat that reaches the legs completed with a hood, black shirt with some kind of a leather chestplate, black leather gloves, socks, and similarly metallic black combat boots but completed with silver greaves.

The last selection is more of a formal wear as it comprised of a ash-white suite that looks like it's made from a really good quality materials, a white dress shirt with sky blue collar and cuffs, black slick pants, socks, and black shoes.

Looking at all the selections, my mind went over and over between the first and the second as they're the one's that looked more appropriate in this occasion. As for the suite, we'll that's definitely out of the question.

In the end, I chose the selection one. As to what my reason is...

It's not like there's really anything that could harm me in this forest and one more fact, it's not that because I turned into a human, my strength was halved, no.

My strength remains the same, just reduced my capabilities. Like superspeed flight, or my claws. Well, that's only if I don't partially transform myself, or better say it in this world's "rules", Unseal. As for what that is, I'll explain that later. And some may think that I can just ONE PUNCH every bipedal being out there like cool ol' Saitama, then no need to worry. Because of my unique skill, I've got perfect control over my strength to avoid that kind of scenario.

All in all, I'm still the pretty OP dragon, just in a smaller form.

I took the clothes out of my Inventory and put them on.

After five minutes, I looked myself in the reflection and nodded in satisfaction. I may look like a boy toy, but I still look really, really, really good, so that's a plus. Wait, you know what? Let's stop calling myself a boy toy, I'm just degrading my own self if I put it that way after all, so yeah, let's stop.

The clothes perfectly fits my body even though they were all bigger the moment I took them out of my Inventory, turns out they have the auto adjustment or the size adjustment function and that's another plus. And one more thing, from their descriptions individually, they all have the self cleaning, and that's another huge plus! There are some others too, but we'll leave that for now.

After all that's over, I took out the [Terra's Guide Book] and began reading it.

I was surprised because of the different language but I can read it like normal, just like I was using this language from birth!

Wait, babies can't talk right? Anyways, my point is still there. It was as if a muscle memory straight from the brain. And I won't be surprised if I find out that I can write in it too.

[Terra's Guide Book]

The world of Terra twenty times larger than Earth. A world ruled by mana.

Terra have six main continents. The Central Continent, Human Continent, Spirit Continent, Beast Continent, Demon Continent, and the Dark Continent.

Along with several other small continents. Most commonly known are the Dragon Island, the Barren Wastelands, the hidden Sky Utopia, etc.

Just based on the names of the continents, the races in this world includes, Humans, Beastmen, Elves and other Fairy Folks, Demonkins, Dwarves, Dragons and other mixed breeds.

The world of Terra have five infamous death zones.

The Death Valley, the three Devil Forests, and the Black Matter Swamp.

All these places are found in different continent. Your current location is currently in one of the Devil Forests, found in the Central Continent just outside of the Seialous Empire. But don't worry, as this is a rather low leveled one compared to the two.

"The f*ck. Is she stalking me? Yep, she definitely is~. Huh, guess even goddesses do get bored too, considering what this one is doing..."

I said and somewhat felt weird now that I know that someone's watching my every move, but I just shook my head and didn't bother anymore.

After all, it will do me no good by worrying.

"Well~! I guess this is where I say good bye to this cave, huh? Oh well, I could just visit here any time I want."

I said and put on a smile.

I crouched down and took out a jade bamboo. What? I'm getting some [Earth Essence] to bring with me. These things are really useful after all, so I can't just let it pass.

As for the jade bamboo, well I found them just south of the massive river connected to the pool below the water fall, and they're tasty, sweet and chewy, perfect for my preferences for snacks, so I took a lot... Alright I took all and only left some underdeveloped shoots, happy?

After filling a lot of them, I stood up and stored all the jade bamboos turned into essence storage back into my Inventory.

Noting to myself to buy a decent container later.

I also took some of the glow stones and luminescent crystals, just in case.

I looked up and stared at the majestic looking luminescent chandelier in the middle of the cave ceiling, wondering if I should take it with me or just leave it here.

In the end I shook my head and decided to just come back for it if I decided to have my own house. But hey? Where did you see a kid of twelve years of age planning to buy a house?

I walked outside and through the water curtain, fortunately one of the functions of my clothes is water proof, so I didn't get drenched.

I looked back one more time and smiled, thankfull for this cave that gave me shelter and protection for over the past two years.

Remembering all those memories almost brought me to tears and making me sentimental so I shook my head and turned forwards , looking resolute but with excitement seen on my face.

From this day forward, I'll be meeting new and different kinds of people, have new sets of adventure, and maybe even make some new friends~.

So I'm really looking forward to it.

I willed my wings on my back and a set of it spreads out. And that's another function of the clothes, shape and size adaptation.

I gave the place that gave me comfort one last look and smiled from my heart.

I took a deep breath and flapped my wings, shooting myself into the sky.
