Chapter 2.

"Hey man, what you spacing out for?" Koenji asked opening his bento box.

"Hmm mm, that smells good." I said opening mine. Mine contained steaming hot ramen. I smiled as I picked up my chopsticks to eat.

"I'm still wondering why you bring ramen to school." Koenji said as I glared at him which made him laugh.

"Well my dad loves it, what can I do."

"Well, whatever."

"Hey man, what do you think about getting a girlfriend?" Koenji asked dropping his chopsticks few minutes after we began eating as I choked on my food.

I grabbed my bottle of water and gulped a little.

"Where's that question coming from?" I asked looking at him and cleaning my lips.

"Don't you think she's just too cute?" He asked looking at another table.

"Huh--? Who?" I asked turning around to see the person he was talking about. It was the school beauty, Himari Akio.

She sat there laughing with some friends, 5 tables away from us. She was really beautiful and intelligent.

She had a dirty blonde wavy hair with short bangs. She's so popular he's way out of her league.

"Am way out of her league Huh?" he asked resting his head on his arm.

"If you know then why do you still like her. Yeah, well, they're other girls you know. I won't advise you to ask her out." I said eating my ramen.

"Yeah, I'll end up committing suicide." He said as the both of us laughed.

"Maybe she has a boyfriend, she always rejects guys. Maybe he's from another school." He said as I coughed.

"Yeah, yeah. " I said smiling.

*I wonder what his reaction will be like when he finds out about Emi.* I thought eating a deep-fried tofu that dad also packed up. *He'll be totally shocked, she's damn popular how can she possibly be dating a guy like me.*

"Hey, what about you? Do you have a crush, I won't ask about having a girlfriend cause no girl would probably go out with you." He teased as he laughed which got me kinda pissed.

"I--I don't have anyone I love in this school, haven't found anyone yet." I said closing the bento box.

"Hehhhhhh, not even the Princess, as in Himari Akio. I can't imagine any guy not falling for her." He said looking at me seriously.

"Well, I think she's just pretty, I don't have any interest in her at all." I said getting up as he followed suit.

"And I think it's good for me, am good that way." I said as we walked back to the classroom.

"You know you are really weird." He said as we laughed while walking through the hallway.

"Well, bye then." Koenji said as I nodded walking away with my bag crossed over my shoulder. As I walked, I bumped into someone.

"Ouch" She said after hitting her head on my chest.

*Who the hell's this* I thought opening my eyes to see the person.

And then I noticed that we were too close, her face few inches away from my jaw, well yeah am taller.

"Huh?" I looked at her for a longer time, yeah, she was really cute.

"Careful princess." I said smiling.

"Am-am sorry." She said not looking up.

*Hmm, she's still resting on me.*

"Am really sorry, I was spacing out. "I apologized scratching my hair and forcing a smile.

She wasn't looking at me but her face was red before she shifted a bit.

"Huh?"

*Why's she embarrassed. * I thought.

"Fu-fu-fujita-San..."

"You're still here, Arata." Koenji called walking out of the classroom.

"Yeah!"

"What's wrong?" I asked her as she shaked her head.

"It's nothing, am sorry." She said smiling as she raised her head looking at me.

"Okay, if you say so. So sorry about bumping into you though." I apologized before waving at her.

"Yeah."

"So...?"

"What, I'm leaving for practice, bye." Koenji said before walking out.

"Bastard."

I walked towards the bridge to meet up with Emi.

"Yo, Emi." I called walking towards her smiling.

"Hey dear." She said smiling and waving at me.

"Let's get going. "She said holding my hands as we walked away.

I really loved her, she made my high school life interesting. The very first girl am falling for. She's the best.

"I'm back home." I said at the doorway taking off my shoes.

"Welcome home Arata." Dad greeted as I walked up to my room.

I took a long bath and went to bed without having dinner. One mistake I ended up regretting.

"Ow ow ow." I winced in pain as dad performed a backbreaker on me.

"I've told you to always come for diner, lunch and breakfast. " He said squeezing my legs.

"Aarrgghhhhhhhh!!!!!!" I screamed as I heard a cracking sound from my leg.
