UES Safe Travels, It's Safe Right?

Ever since those Four astronauts left in the UES Safe Travels, time felt like it passed by so quickly. Five months had already passed. The UES Safe Travels was a spacefaring vessel in search of a planet suitable for life. Captain Martin, Vanessa, George, and Austen were surrounding a table discussing several things in life. Occasional laughs were spread about.

"It's about time we had the captain with us! Now you better stop moping around the deck from now on alright?" After ending that statement, George wearing a purple suit with green accents just chuckled for a few seconds.

"How about I just get some work done? We still need to keep up with the maintenance so we don't crash towards some planet or float across space with no way back?"

"Now don't be like that, you're at the table to have fun! We already checked out the vessel. Right Austen?" George stared at the man in a yellow suit.

Austen merely nodded despite knowing they didn't do anything.

"Austen, I need you to speak more often with your coworkers and especially me."

"..."

"Look, I've been called in to operate this mission and not fool around. We're suppose to be searching for any survivors still left on Petrichor V since that... accident"

'Okay... my coat is still here... thank god. Sneaking onto the UES Safe Travels was a breeze... Where the hell is my hat.'

As the group began arguing, on the Moon, there was a gray finger pointing towards the ship... A ball of energy being concentrated that appeared to have sparks of electricity dancing around it, and then it was fired.

...

A sudden turbulence occurred throughout the ship. Crates, drinks and multiple firearms were tossed about. George fell towards the ground and Vanessa fell towards Austen's arms.

"What the fuck was that?"

Captain Martin got up from his chair and ran towards the main deck.

"Ship's falling.. Everyone! Get to the escape pods!"

Quickly getting up, George ran over to a toolbox on the ground, grabbed it and then ran towards an escape pod. Pressing a button on the side of his helmet, a bubble-like ball appeared around George's head. Tripping over the entrance he fell inside the pod. quickly getting himself up, he held a switch down, the escape pod starts plummeting into the planet's atmosphere.

Austen grabbed two handguns, three hand grenades and a long range taser with a couple batteries from crates that broke on impact towards the floor.

Running towards an escape pod, he quickly signaled Vanessa and the Captain to get in. Entering into one, he pressed a button on the right side of his helmet. A visor came out from the back and quickly locked itself into the front side of the helmet.

Vanessa had grabbed a compound bow and dozens of arrows, placing the arrows in a quiver on her back. Putting the bow in the side of her hip, she dashed towards Martin.

"Mart! We have to go! I can't leave you here."

"I'm... incredibly sorry Vanessa but no matter where. The seven seas, the air and even space. A captain must always fall down with their ship. I'll see you on the other side."

A small moment of hesitation held back Vanessa but she ran towards an escape pod.

Captain Martin stared at the planet he was going to die on with his ship. With a sigh, he slowly put his head down, waiting for his imminent death.
