Chapter 15: Demons

Mae and the others prepared for our departure. While I went to the guild, everyone was waiting for me.

Inside the guild master's office, "Congratulations on your test," the guild master said.

I smiled, "Thanks."

"With that, I'll give you what you came here for; here's the official Adamantite ID card; we'll expect great things from you."

"I'll do my best." After that, Siah left.

"What do you think about his power?" The guild master said into the empty room. Suddenly,  a man appeared, a man covered in cloaks.

"The rumored, Siah, you can hear many things from his name around here; for him to advance this much in just a couple months is amazing; he's power is still unknown; that's why the higher-ups ordered us to keep an eye on him."

The guild master smiled and said, "This is getting interesting. Just who are you? Siah."

In the temporary base of Mae in the slum, Siah returned, and the soldiers saluted, "Welcome back! Your Majesty!"

Siah smiled. "I'm back. Good work."

"Yes, sir!" 

Siah went inside the tent, where Kathy, Mae, and Brody were.

"Oh, you're back," Kathy said.

"Welcome back, Siah. We have a lot of talking later, okay?" Mae said with a poker face. It's clearly that she's angry about Siah scaping.

Siah awkwardly replied, "Okay."

"Can you two stop flirting?" Kathy said.

"We're not flirting!" Mae shouted.

"Fine, Siah, it's shocking that you're actually a king, but are you sure about us staying in your country? We're demons, you know," Kathy said.

"Yup, it's fine, but you won't feel easy if I don't give a reason, right?"

"Kathy  was silent.

"We know that his Majesty Siah is strong; however, us demons have already been betrayed many times in the past, and we don't want that to happen again," Brok said.

"I figured, that's why. I'll give you a reason to stay and a reason for you guys to trust me," Siah declared.

"As you already know, all our equipment here is new to you guys, right? But I'll tell you this, as this isn't really a secret; this is the advanced technology."

"Advanced technology?" Kathy asked.

"Yup, as the name already said, our equipment, weapons, everything is far more advanced than the civilization in this world," Siah said as he spread his arms.

"However, there's one problem: we may be far more advanced; we lack knowledge of magic. After fighting Brod, if a much stronger foe appeared, then we're doomed. The only reason I won was because of magic as well."

"Yeah, I noticed it. It was the aura of a dragon when your sword turns black," Brod said.

"Correct, that's why we're weak when it comes to magic."

"Telling us your weakness like that, when we the demons folks are the strongest when it comes to magic, we're your number one enemy, you know?" Kathy said.

"I know that much. I'm telling you this now. We want your help. With the combined power of magic and advanced technology, we're practically invincible!" Siah said happily.

But Brod and Kathy just glare at him. "We saw this once before; the face you're making is the same expression the demon king used when he attained and became the most powerful being in this world," Kathy said with disgust.

"If it seems like you misunderstood Siah, the reason why he wants power," Mae interferes with the conversation.

"?" The two demons were clueless.

"Siah only wants to kill strong monsters, and his goal is to kill the behemoth."

"!?" The two of them shocked.

"The behemoth you say!? Are you fcking dumb!" Kathy snapped.

"Princess, please calm down," Brody said. "But Princess's reaction was normal; for you to kill the legendary behemoth is foolish; the behemoth isn't hostile; that's why it was kept off their hands by any race, as they don't want to get killed."

"The hero who killed my father can't even scratch it, and you think you can win against it! How foolish can you be?" Kathy said.

"Hmmm... think like that however you wish, but my goal won't change, and before making the decision, whatever you'll stay in my country, you should first visit it at least," Siah said with a smile.

"We'll do that," Kathy decided.

And so, after packing everything, they left using Chinook, and after a few hours, they arrived.

They landed on the vast, wide open area where the air force of Siah is. Soldiers met Siah and placed a red carpet for him to walk on while the soldiers were there, saluting him.

"Fuku's behind this, isn't he?" Siah asked Mae.

"Yes, he said that since you're now the royalty of this country, you should also be treated to luxury," Mae replied.

"Augh, he knows I hate this kind of stuff."

Fighter jets are already in the air for training, as are fighter helicopters and other air units. He knows that this is our biggest card, huh?

"Mae, take care of the stuff needed to be taken care of; also, let Kathy and Brody rest first; make sure to treat them nicely."

"Certainly, your majesty."

She's addressing me that now, huh?

Siah got back to his own mansion. "It's good to be back!" He shouted.

"It's nice to see you, well."

"What are you doing in my house?"

"Didn't I tell you that I'll come back?" The strange girl who got naked got in and is now in the kitchen eating.

Siah walked towards his couch and sat down. "The security should be tight; it's impossible that they wouldn't notice you," Siah said as he took out a water bottle from his item box and drank it.

"Well, I didn't enter here without any permission; I'm not a burglar, you know," she said as she walked towards Siah.

"So Fuku let you in, huh?"

"You're sharp; I like that," the girl said, sitting next to Siah.

"Let's get this straight: what do you want? To the point that even Fuku agreed to let you in," Siah said, glaring at her.

"You're quite scary, you know that," she said while eating my snacks she found in the kitchen.

"This place is basically heaven! Even kings don't get a chance to be treated like this."

"Well, you're seeing one right now, though."

She giggled. "You're right, I'll cut the chase. I want you to save us."

"I know that already, so what do I get from saving you?"

"Your technology is advanced, but you lack experience; we're the dwarf race; the empire enslaved us and forced us to make tools for them; if you save us, you'll have my body; not only that, but we can help you with your technology as well."

"A good offer... but I'm not dumb enough to wage war on the empire; we're still not strong enough."

"No, we can," Fuku says, getting in.

"Oh, did something happen? If I'm correct, we still can't fight them?"

"That was 2 weeks ago, but after you left, reports said that they saw the empire's scout; not only that, but the insect robots reported that they have been preparing their military for an all-out attack."

"What!? They want to take over the Lara kingdom; that's why they'll attack us. I saw it coming, but for it to happen so fast..."

"Wrong, Siah, they want to attack us for our technology."

"Our technology, huh? If they can have the same technology as ours, taking the whole world is easy."

"That's why, in those past two weeks, we focused on the military and stopped the construction of the flouting city."

"Can we win?"

"There will be casualties."

"I don't want any casualties as much as possible. Fuku should find opposing nobles from the empire." Siah pointed at the girl. "Tell us everything you know about the empire, the important information that we should know."

The girl smiled and said, "I'm not you. My name is Ave."

"Okay, then Ave, if you want to save your people, then cooperate with us."

She then nodded.

"By the way, are you really a dwarf? You're tall for a dwarf."

"Ah, that's because my mother is a half-giant and my father is a pure dwarf."
