Lucien looked out at the bustling farmers harvesting their crops. Most of the crops were owned by the villagers, but the land belonged to the governor—him.

Some yields, like wheat, were monopolized by the governor and all the vineyards were under his ownership due to the high taxes associated with luxury items.

The crops sold to merchants were bought from the farmers, while the rest could be sold freely by them.

The animafolia, however, was entirely under his control, with Gibson employing villagers to catch it, and the proceeds went straight to the treasury fund.

As Lucien stood with his arms crossed, he noticed Lithira waving at him from afar. She was with her mother, carrying a basket full of red apples.

"Lucien, the farmers gave these to us as a thank you. What should we do with them?" Lithira asked, showing him the basket.

"What do you mean? Just eat all of them!" Brigantiea exclaimed, munching happily on an apple.
