Two Days

The days went by, and Esmeria, despite keeping her distance from everyone, including Elizabeth herself, who was her ally, began to keep an eye on Aria from the shadows.

In this whole process, Esmeria grew frustrated without knowing Hugo's plan, but she did this because she saw no progress in Aria's magic.

Initially, Esmeria had planned to wait for results over time, as she had verified that Hugo was a fairly respectable human mage, but…

'Another day of having her read math books to solve them? Are you kidding me?', Esmeria thought as she felt anger gradually taking over her mind.

This had to be a joke.

A damn heavy joke by that mage.

Recalling her queen's plan several times in her head, Esmeria managed to regain her composure, so she decided to keep waiting in silence, but what she did not expect was that the next day…

And the day after that…

And the day after that day...

Every damn day they did the same thing.

They locked themselves in a damn wooden room that was in the most secluded area of the mansion so that Aria could read books, solve them, and repeat the process over and over again.

Despite repeating her queen's plan in her head, she no longer had the patience to keep watching this in silence.

Hugo immediately noticed how Esmeria's presence began to materialize from the darkness of the room's corner.

"What do you want?" Hugo asked in a dry tone.

Maria, who had not yet realized Esmeria was right behind her, was confused by Hugo's question, as it seemed he was looking directly at her.

"What are you doing?" Esmeria asked, not hiding her anger in the slightest.

Maria, realizing Esmeria was right behind her, turned around and stepped back to where Aria was writing.

"Your butt," said Aria as she elbowed Maria's butt since she had moved while she was writing.

'Is that what worries you right now!?', Maria screamed in her mind while trying to stay calm, since, according to Hugo, Esmeria was much more dangerous than Elizabeth despite her appearance at that moment.

Maria did not understand why Esmeria had decided to take that appearance, despite the explanation Hugo had given her days earlier to calm her.

"I'm training her," Hugo replied indifferently.

Esmeria let out a small laugh upon hearing that response.

"Really?"

"Yes," Hugo replied immediately.

"Aria," said Esmeria as she diverted her gaze towards her.

"I'm busy," Aria replied immediately, indifferent to the discussion happening around her.

Esmeria clicked her tongue and turned her attention back to Hugo.

She didn't want to leave just like that, as she couldn't stand seeing this kind of training any longer.

"Two days."

This statement left both Hugo and Maria confused.

Seeing their reaction, Esmeria decided to be more specific.

"If in two days you haven't managed to teach Aria any spell, we will leave."

"Can't you wait three weeks?" Hugo asked with a smile.

"You're crazy if you think I'm going to wait that long! Two days! That's all the time I'll wait."

"Alright, but I have a condition," Hugo replied with a smile.

"What?" Esmeria asked, frowning.

"I want you to stop watching us completely during those two days. That also includes Elizabeth and the minions you spread throughout the mansion."

Upon hearing Hugo's proposal, Esmeria immediately grew even more furious, but part of her was glad, as he was now making a deal with her.

If he didn't comply now… she could take Aria somewhere else!

Despite not fully trusting Hugo, confident, Esmeria accepted.

"It's a deal."
