Chapter 38 One Journey Ends, Another Begins

Iris kept firing at Derek and Derek did his best to block or dodge the balls but he got hit and was knocked to the ground. Iris got down on one knee, he placed both hands on the ground and water swirled and moved from the trees around him turning them brown and making them wither. The water moved fast covering the land over 30 meters reaching as high as 5feet. General Stone led his men forward with a frown on his face, almost a hundred soldiers behind him, but Derek was not pleased with this.

"STOP IT HE'S MINE" he yelled, general Stone stopped then faced, " this is getting out of control, we have made an enemy out of someone touched by the gods. We must end him now, for I fear if he escapes, his return is not something we would look forward to."

"Soldiers engage, destructive Qi barrage." General Stone shouted and all the soldiers spread out to his left and right. They drew their swords, they faced the tip down and swung vertically. Arcs of yellow energy flew at Iris. He lifted his hands and a translucent dome of water formed around him, one thicker than the dome he created earlier to block a few arrows. When the barrage of Qi arcs hit, the dome shook and vibrated causing Iris to stumble a little. General Stone and his men attacked again but the dome stood strong.

" Qi wave suppression" general Stone shouted. All the soldiers sheathed their swords and placed both hands on the ground. A wall of Qi rose up, the soldiers stood up with their arms stretched out they moved and the wall of Qi clashed with Iris' dome. Iris was getting pushed back, the dome was getting smaller, it was like he was put into a container and someone is trying to compress him. He crossed his arms and forcefully spread them apart creating hundreds of water bullets behind and although this seemed to make the dome weaker, Iris Wit had a confident smile on his face. He moved his arms and the water bullets spread out in all directions, and almost immediately the bullets flew and crashed into the dome shattering it on impact. Iris spread out his arms again and hundreds of water bullets was formed in the air around him.

"W-what is this?"general Stone said in a shaky voice, "we can't win this, r-retreat.. RETREAT" He yelled at the top of his voice, he turned around and ran leading his men away from the battle.

"THIS IS TREACHERY AGAINST KINGSLAND. KING STEVEN WILL HEAR OF THIS" but Derek's words fell in deaf ears as the soldiers ran away. Iris released the bullets, they flew at great speeds knocking several soldiers at once, Derek tried to create a Qi barrier to protect himself but it shattered the minute it made contact with the water bullets. He tried to create another one but a barrage of bullets knocked him down before he could. He tried to turn and run away but several bullets crashed into his helmet and knocked him out.

Iris fell to the ground. He was tired. He rolled over and lied on his back panting. A few minutes later he heard footsteps he quickly got on his feet and turned around, then he saw Levi and Mark running over. He fell on his knees in relief. Levi looked around, eyes widened in shock. "Wow. Just wow. I mean,... You could have spared the trees." Levi said with a smile and Iris let out a light chuckle. Mark looked around then he looked back at Iris 'did he do all this? What kind of power does he have?'

Levi helped Iris up and was about to help him out of the woods, but Iris stopped him, "we aren't done yet" pointed at Derek's body, Levi and Mark helped him over.

"Take off his armor and weapon" Iris said and walked to a corner, he picked up his broken sword and walked over to Derek. "Wake him up, let's do it the old fashioned way" Levi nodded and took off Derek's upper body armor. They slapped him but he still didn't budge. Iris formed a small ball of water and splashed it on his face jolting him awake. It took a few seconds to realize what was going on. He looked at Iris Levi and Mark. " Let me go. You know who my father is right? He is Chris Blade, younger brother to king Steven Blade of kinsland and h-"

He was interrupted be a kick to mouth by Levi who had a furious expression on his face. Levi lifted him up and drew his own sword. He and Iris exchanged glances and nodded at each other. "W-waiiiiiit" Derek yelled with blood on his mouth, and two swords went through his body. Levi's on the right and Iris with his broken sword on the left. They pulled their swords out and let Derek's body fall.

Iris wiped the broken blade with Derek's trousers and put it in his ring, "one down six to go" Iris said to Levi. Levi wiped his sword and sheathed it. Iris sighed, Levi sighed and Mark stood behind them in shock.

"Come on " Levi said as he gave Iris a shoulder to lean on, "Kara is with Johnny at the docks. The ship leaves in about 20 minutes so we've got to hurry. We thought there'd be patrol guards but there isn't, it seems king Nolan doesn't really want much to do with us, plus they focused all their strength on capturing us because they thought we couldn't escape."

They helped Iris get to the main road, into the cart and away from the woods. They arrived at the docks, showed the guard at the station their pass and got onto the ship with Levi. It was almost afternoon. Levi hugged his brother and asked him if he would love to come with them but he refused saying that this is his home. He wished them luck and watched as the ships faded into the horizon.

One journey ends and another begins.
