Chapter 50

When Gio started to talk Lich realized he had an issue. He couldn't hear anything Gio was saying.

'Did I lose my hearing in the last battle? But I thought I fully healed. Well I will just heal myself when the match starts.'

As the match started and Lich healed himself, he saw that Gio had already attacked and swung his Sickle across his neck. Luckily he healed himself at the start and caught the attack. Oddly enough Lich still couldn't hear.

Lich ended the match by shooting Gio and then waited for the next match wondering why he still didn't gain his hearing back.

After a bit his next challenger appeared. The Champion Of Gardener, Dio. His Paths were Gardner, Shovel, Digging, Garden Plot, Green House, Elf, Fox, Donkey, Field, and Harvest.

As Lich still couldn't hear he didn't try bothering thinking about it anymore and just wanted to finish these fights.

As Dio ran towards Lich with his shovel, he was gun downed by Lich with no mercy.

'Wait, they aren't getting harder? I mean the last guy died easy too. But he still would of killed me or gravely injured me if I didn't try healing myself. Did the person before him cause me to push myself too hard and I took a penalty?'

The next challenger was a tall woman in a butchers uniform. The blood on her apron was either just aesthetic or she was just butchering something. Her Paths were Butcher, Knife, Hunter, 2-Hand, Axe, Truck, Freezer, Hut, Devourer, and Slash.

'That is one scary Butcher's Knife. Looking at it would make you think she was getting ready to butcher a dragon and not me. Well I am just going to shoot till I win cause once she gets close. I don't know how effective my tail will be once she is in my face.'

Luckily for Lich, that the Champion Of Butcher, Artemis, was not able to run fast or dodge bullets and she lost.

After her was Gluttony. Her Paths were Gluttony, Devourer, Trident, Alligator, Shark, Bear, Hippo, Condiments, Spices and Giant.

'Wow she seems really talkative. Maybe she knew me before I lost my memories? I wonder what she is saying? Well it doesn't matter, I just need to win.'

Once the fight started and Lich shot his gun, he was dumbfounded. Gluttony just ate every shot he sent her way. She got too close to Lich and he tried hitting her with the gun since it was on reload.

However she simply bit the gun along with his hand cleanly off.

"Shit!"

As Lich was in pain he could only randomly curse. He tried sending his tail to attack her, but she simply used her Trident like a fork and ripped the tail and belt off and ate it as well.

Getting some rationality back, Lich thought of a quick plan. He pulled out his 'Sleeping Medicine' and tossed it at her yelling. "If you like eating so much, eat this!" She seem to be happy and ate the whole bottle.

She didn't end up overdosing, but she did seem to be affected by it. Seeing only one chance to win, Lich swung his last remaining fist into her neck and Rapid Fired his attack. Her reactions were to slow and Lich luckily won.

"That was terrifying! I mean I didn't go in my boss mode but I don't think it would matter. She could probably just eat me if I did. Maybe I should start to rely on my Profession skills I have. Though All I can really do is scan their combat strength, mark them, and if I am crazy enough just bite them and eat a part of them to gain their Stats."

Seeing the next person who showed up, Lich knew he should mark him as he seemed very shifty. The next challenger was the Champion Of Scavenger, Bo. His Paths were Scavenger, Knife, Thief, Mutant:Thief, Trash Man, Bank Robber, Mutant:Ninja, Vulture, Disection&Storage, and Landfill.

Lich started off with marking him. It turned out to be the right move, as Bo went invisible. He had a small tan outline on his body though since Lich marked him. Before Bo knew what was happening he was gunned down.

After Bo was Jupiter. She was the Champion Of Teacher. Her Paths were Teacher, Student, Librarian, Book, Exp(Element), College, Writer, Calligraphy, Board Game, and Card Game. Before she could do anything she was gunned down as she was not a combative person.

Following the quick defeat of Jupiter was Pluto. He was the Champion Of Student. His Paths were Student, Teacher, Library, Paper(Element), Pen, Exp(Element), Assistant, Card Game, E-Sport, and Graffiti.

He threw his pen like it was a weapon, but Lich just shot at him and killed him. It seem he was also not a combative person.

'Huh, did I already fight the strongest people. Are the rest just fodder? No there are Paths that are scary in themselves. So I guess it doesn't matter how strong one is, the next person can be weaker or stronger.'

Lich's next fights were very subpar just like the last few. The Champion of Candy Maker, Candice was just someone who made candy. Her Paths were Candy Maker, Chef, Gloves, Oven, Raccoon, Touch, Tendril, Cocoa, Sweets, and Chocolate.

Though the things her Tendrils Touched got turned to candy, since Lich had a gun the fight seemed easy. The next person was the Champion Of Dairy Maker, Cal.

His Paths were Dairy Maker, Milk Man, Gloves, Cow, Dragon, Farmer, Hand, Barn, Mana Grass, and Mana Fruit. Though one of his Paths was a Dragon, he didn't have full use of it yet so he also died from being gunned down.

After beating them, Lich learned he would get his hearing back after beating 98 more teams. Though he was a bit pissed as there was only 98 more teams left in the F rank fights. Also it didn't state if he would get his hearing back if he lost. So it seemed like his prize was to get his hearing back that was randomly taken away from him.

The next person who showed up was a woman in a Witches outfit.

"Hello Lich! My name is Valeria the Champion Of Witch. I only showed up to show you my vape flavor and if you wanted to buy some from me." Valeria's Paths were Witch, Hat, Smoke Bomb, Steam, Raspberry, Ice, Tobacco(Plant), Tobacco(Drug), Wind, and Mutant:Witch.

Lich couldn't hear her, but she put her hand up so Lich decided to give her time before he attacked. Though he would still mark her and have his gun ready.

As the match started she pulled out her vape and started to rip her vape. She was breathing in for a long time and then let out a big puff cloud. It was enough to cover the whole arena. Valeria was waiting for Lich to tell her what he thought about it.

Before she was gunned down by Lich she heard him mutter, "Smells good." Though she thought it was rude to not carry the conversation, she knew she had a potential buyer.

His next challenger was Jerry. He was the Champion Of Necklace. His Paths were Necklace, Axe, Blog, Mine Plot, Pickaxe, Tree Plot, Were(Cursed), Trash Man, Crystal(Element), and Dual Wield.

Though it didn't matter what his paths were, since he couldn't handle a long range attacks he also died to Lich's gun.

The next challenger was the Champion Of Chicken, Hiyoko. Her Paths were Chicken, Roc, Cockatrice, Farmer, Mana Grass, Emu, Turkey, Crow, Vulture, and Owl.

When the match started she rushed madly at Lich. Thinking she was naive, Lich shot at her. To his surprise she seemed to be almost bullet proof as she didn't drop after getting hit 5 times. Before she could reach Lich though, he used his Scorpion tail along with a Acid filled Drilling Punch and beat her.

The next challenger was Hank. His Paths were Hex, Fire, BBQ, Truck, Wind, Cow, Flesh(Element), Butcher, Devourer, and Citizen. Because of the Citizen Path, he couldn't really do combat damage to Lich so he was ended without trying to put up a fight.

"That guy's face seemed kind of lifeless, I wonder why."

The next person was the Champion Of Mutant:Witch, Wendy. Her Paths were Mutant:Witch, Heal(Element), Cultivator, Blessing, Curse, Blood, Poison, Boost, Ceo, and Merchant. Like the Champion Of Witch she also was just here to offer her wares.

Though she was more nervous as she heard from the Champion Of Witch that Lich didn't give much time for the sales pitch. So she motion with her hands and Lich didn't attack right away just like last time.

"Hello Lich it has been awhile. The wares I am offering to supply you later are potions! Though everyone has to learn all Paths, since I am the Champion Of Mutant:Witch I will have the best potions. Of course yours won't be bad but I get boosts."

She threw in the last part after she realized that Lich could just get mad and kill her.
