"Sorry, I can't let you leave," Hogin declared meekly as he pointed his staff at Killua, who stepped back, seeing the hidden blade that was almost touching his neck.
"Come on... you guys can't be serious, right?"
"Unfortunately for you, we are, and there will be no one from your familia's top power members who will help here," Otter muttered as he disappeared and swung both his great swords down with full power.
Killua's hair stood on end as he felt the killing intent that drowned him, but his body, trained to the peak, was able to react, and he blitzed away to the side, avoiding the invisible blade of Hogin.

Killua looked at the place he had stood; there was literally a hole that went to the next floor, with Otter standing at the very edge of the hole. Killua glanced at Hogin, who only stood there, and looked around. There were a few figures around as well, and he recognized them all.
The whole of the top executives of the Freya familia were here! 'Why do you need to bring all of your familia to hunt down little me!!! I am just level 4!!!' he screamed in his mind as his eyes looked for any opening he could find, but looking at the encirclement he was in, there was no way to get out.
Killua's eyes briefly peeked at the hole that led to the 8th floor and decided that it was his only way out, but then his eyes went to Otter, who now stood right in front of the hole...
"And of course, he has to guard it..." Killua muttered as he started to run around the perimeter of the encirclement, avoiding all the probe attacks from the other members of the Freya familia.

Killua kicked the wall and rushed at Otter, who slashed at him. Right before coming into contact, Killua changed his direction and leaped to the side. But Otter had two great swords.
Otter swung his other sword down right between the hole to the next floor, and Killua, who ignored everything, slashed with his hands, which had his nails extended and tightened right at Otter's neck.
TING!
Killua's eyes widened as his strike hit Otter's sword that appeared out of nowhere. Killua backed off immediately and narrowed his eyes like a cat. His whole body tensed and glowed in a blue hue, then became covered in lightning that sparked throughout the floor.
Killua's body discharged massive amounts of lightning and poured it into the floor, creating a lightning field that sparked and remained.
"Bye-bye ~!" Killua cheerfully said as his perception of time slowed down, and he blitzed towards the next floor with a smile.
At the very last step, he glanced up with dread. Otter's sword was closing in on him, and if he took a step forward, he would set himself up for execution. If he were to step back, Otter's other sword would swing down and bring him down instantly.
His perception of time slowed to a halt as his mind buzzed with lightning, and he made a decision. His whole body jerked to the side, his mana violently reacting and pushing him farther.
For Killua, time started to go back to its usual pace, and Otter's sword slashed down.
Killua rolled out of his range and backed off, with cold sweat covering his whole body.
But then—
Spurted!
Killua's neck was cut open, and blood spewed out. Killua's hand sparked with lightning, and he covered his wound, burning it.

The smell of burning flesh filled the air, but neither Otter nor Killua seemed fazed. Killua felt around his neck and felt a chill run down his back. Nearly a third of his neck was cut; if he had reacted even a little slower in burning and sealing the wound, he would have died there.
"Should you report your level up to the guild? If you don't do it, then your familia will be fined, you know..." Killua tried to crack some humor to ease the tension, but neither Otter nor he was in such a mood, making it meaningless but also calming to Killua's nerves.
'They were just playing around, huh... damn it, that was the closest to death I have ever been... And it's not thrilling at all. You lied, Regal, you lied...'
Killua complained in his heart but grew serious on the outside, with his body discharging much more energy than before, almost 20 times, and that number kept on going up.
Killua's hands glowed brightly with lightning as they turned into something akin to sharp dagger-like claws. His whole body tensed, and he took a running stance, ready to bolt at Otter.
Otter, for the first time, took a stance as well and prepared to swing his greatsword with all his might. He doubtfully looked at Killua, who, despite knowing Otter had leveled up to 8, was still going for a head-on collision.
Killua lunged at full speed this time and instantly reached Otter, who had swung his sword down with all his force. But then Killua halted and changed his direction completely, heading back.
Hedin, the white elf who guarded the back, was shocked. He slammed his staff down, but Killua was too fast for him, and he wasn't even close to hitting Killua there.
Otter's eyes widened, and his face darkened. He had been fooled.
