Into Skyrim, Elder Scrolls 8 Nirn's Beta

So to begin, this is technically a skyrim fanfic. Why isn't it in the fan-fics then? Simple! It's based on a game and I don't feel that counts as a fan-fic. Second, I've read like a few skyrim stories here lately. I liked them, as a bethesda fan boy... Well, now I need to take a crack at it. I literally start a new game of skyrim every new year. Its my tradition, so I felt I had to do this. If its bad, ah well. If its good, GREAT! Overall though, I feel we need more skyrim based stories or fan-fics. It has the perfect setting for the transmigration genre. Now read at your own risk.

The Mill

I had a new quest given to me by Sheogorath himself. It was a interesting quest to say the least as well. I doubted I would need to handle it quickly though. When I exited the Wing I was met with Falk Firebeard.

He asked me, "What in the world happened in there?"

I gave a thumbs up, "Handled it. If I told you about it though, you wouldn't believe me. Just know, you can use the Pelagius Wing now."

Falk nodded, "Very well, but Sybille wanted to see you. About a project of some kind?"

I nodded and walked toward her workspace. My whole body actually ached a little. "Sybille?"

She looked over at me, "Seems like you completed your task. Took a little longer than I expected. However I did complete my study of the star. This Malyn fellow who took up residence inside is interesting. I could figure out the process of which he wished to achieve immortality. Overall it is half-baked and poorly thought out."

I shrugged, "I find most attempts at longevity are like that. The easiest methods are vampirism, which requires you to become dead or... use some sort magic to extend your life-span."

She nodded, "I can't fault you on that. However this fellow essentially chose to be self-imprisoned inside a daedric artifact relying on the souls taken form the living. I would considered him an ethereal spirit like a wisp or ghost honestly. It is incredibly short-sighted. Anyway, I figured out how to extract his soul and repair the star as you like without having to preform soul extraction on you."

I blinked in surprise, "Really?"

She nodded, "It wasn't that hard honestly, I assume you were basing your understanding on some kind of College of Winterhold research? They are efficient at compiling knowledge, but lack more simple creativity."

Sybille took out the repaired Black Star. "I expect you to use this with care."

I looked down at the Black Star. She really repaired it. I looked at her and asked. "Can I buy soul trap scrolls from you?"

She stared at me and sighed, "I expect you to bring me materials to research,"

I took out the Wabbajack, twirled it and held it out to her. "This work?"

She smiled, "Another daedric artifact. How interesting, I was thinking about that necklace around your neck, but I don't mind studying this. I can feel the magical energies radiating from this. Mostly alteration, but some conjuration and illusion, with a little bit of mysticism thrown in."

I raised an eyebrow at that, "Mysticism?"

She looked over the Wabbajack, brushing off an answer. "The old magics, shamans of the reach use it."

Ah, that meant it was likely a secret skill tree. Sybille looked up at me, "Oh right, the scrolls. Here."

She opened a chest and dumped them out on me. She also gave me the soul trap spell book. "The scrolls will be more powerful than the spell tome since you have little knowledge of conjuration. However it would be best you know the soul trap spell."

I nodded and she shooed me out, "Now go, I don't have time to baby sit you."

I shrugged and put everything into my inventory. With Black Star in hand and some Soul trap scrolls. I planned on capturing Potema in the daedric artifact. The wolf queen was a powerful individual. Taking control over her very soul. Well, that would prove to be very interesting. I planned on this before I unlocked achievements.

The necromancers that first begin the resurrection of Potema tried to bind her as a summon to them. Their methods though would never work. They lacked a deal made with the ideal masters, lacked some sort of higher power backing them at all really. Potema was someone with a mastery of the dead and their own soul. Yet another individual with immortality that requires oneself to be dead.

Her knowledge was immense! It had to be... Not to mention sealing away the soul of a witch like her would likely please Azura. Changing the Azura's star would 100% piss off Azura. Sealing a witch like Potema with said star? Well I'm willing to bet the more benevolent daedric prince would be happy.

I stopped by Odine and looked at the tree. I faked taking care of it so I can talk to them. "How are you doing?"

Odine shouted at me, "I am BORED! The priestess come by and water me, one of them even made this herbal mix. Made me feel pretty good, but other than that. I am so bored!"

I promised to take Odine around, but dragging a tree through dungeons wasn't very effective. Perhaps I'll schedule a sight seeing trip for them. For now though i patted the tree, "Sorry, dungeons aren't really easy to bring a tree through. A festival will happen here soon, that should be good."

Odine stayed silent before responding. "Fair enough, however I have been listening to guards and passerby and I want to see Whiterun, the College of Winterhold and a dragon burial mound."

A dragon burial mound. "Speaking of dragons, you hear any rumors about them resurrecting, vampires attacking cities? Anything like that?"

Odine responded, "Yes actually, apparently the dragonborn has returned. Returning from where I don't know. In my inherited memories there was a few of them so I don't understand how they are returning. on the note of vampires, nothing about cities being attacked. However the vigilant of Stendarr were massacred and the dawnguard are recruiting. Heard about a khajiit amongst their ranks with green fur. That stuck out to me since that is certainly a rare trait."

Well that was obviously a player. A khajiit with green fur? Really? That just sounded like a furry. Not my place to judge though I guess. I patted Odine, "Thanks."

So from my guess Serena is still not out of her tomb. This was likely because Sorine was near Markarth and Gunmer who the fuck knows. In the old game he would be hunting a bear in a random cave. From their they would likely get Florentius. A difficult dungeon if you are low level.

I should also keep track of the dragonborn's progress. I didn't believe they were a player. So I expect the Main quest line of slaying Alduin is ongoing. Perhaps I should officially join the imperials? I had no info on the civil war. It could be changing drastically.

I had to wonder where other players were as well. Someone had to have started on Solsthiem. Perhaps a player has left the area as well. It was hard to say. Telling that I had already killed a player and got a daedric quest to kill another player. I suspect more than a couple are dead. Right now I knew of three players in total. The one I killed, the one I am going to kill, and the dawnguard furry.

With all that in note I entered the Winking Skeever to find Viree. She was laying on a table, "So are you drunk out of your wits?"

She looked over at me, "H-Huh? Oh, its you. Yeah, let's go.... Where are we going?"

I sighed, so she was drunk. Well the walk and the cold would wake her up. "To investigate a cave called wolf skull cave. Get your game on, this one is gonna be dangerous."

She looked at me and nodded. "Okie Dokie! I bought a really cool greatsword by the way."

I frowned, how much money had she used? I gave her a very limited amount.
