Chapter 24
~CAMILLE'S POV~
"Camille Cooper!" My manager's voice echoes through the work station.
The use of my full name signals trouble, so I pause in my work and turn to see him approaching. I let out a sigh; it's never good when he uses both my first and last name.
"Today is Friday," he says, smiling at me. However, that smile isn't a reassuring one, and of course, I'm well aware that it's Friday.
"Uh... Yes, sir."
"So? Has Lester finally agreed to join us?" He asks, hands in his pockets.
"He assured me he'd provide an answer today, sir."
"Today?"
"Yes, sir. It wasn't easy to secure a meeting with him, sir. At least, he committed to delivering his response today, and I'm hopeful it will be positive," I explain, tightening my lips in anticipation of his reaction.
