Chapter 97 - End of the First Wave

Despite their relentless efforts in culling numerous monsters, the swarms appeared ceaseless in their onslaught. The ground was overrun with rats, rabbits, gnomes, insects, and a multitude of other diminutive monsters.

The initial wave, composed primarily of these seemingly innocuous creatures, proved to be a far greater challenge than they had ever anticipated.

While individually, these creatures posed no significant threat, their sheer numbers forged a formidable and unsettling presence.

The thought weighed heavily on their minds; if they hadn't mounted a defense, even these modest-sized monsters might have succeeded in overwhelming and seizing control of the capital.
