Chapter 36: Timing Is Everything
Autumn was busy working, trying to not freeze her a*s off.
She was thankful to be working so she couldn’t sit and wallow in her thoughts.
Working for your ex turned out not to be so difficult when the job was big enough for all of them not barely see each other throughout the day.
Trying to keep herself motivated, Autumn was jamming out to some of her favorite tunes. She pulled a bud out when she thought someone had yelled for her.
“Autumn!”
She looked around and saw Piper trotting down the hill towards her.
Autumn turned off her music and watched Piper quickly make her way towards her.
“What’s up? Can you not find Liam?” she asked, assuming that was the only reason Piper was calling for her.
“No, no. He’s up there. He told me I could come talk to you for a minute.”
“Oh, ok. I figured you were at work.”
Piper nodded frantically.
“I was, but I needed to talk to you so I took an extra early lunch break.”
Autumn was confused.
