shh..Here comes Wednesday & Y/n
Footsteps echoed through Nancy Reagan High School as students parted for a raven-haired girl with meticulously styled pigtails. Disgusted gazes followed her.she whispers silently within her mind, "I'm not sure whose twisted idea it was to put hundreds of adolescents in underfunded schools run by people whose dreams were crushed years ago, but I admire the sadism."everyone now Halted abruptly as Wednesday surveyed the hall's lined with painfully bright red lockers. Before she could even turn around to see the cause of the interruption, a much taller boy leaned close to her ear, his presence sending a shiver down her spine.???: "Think they're still scared?" he murmured, his voice laced with a hint of amusement.Wednesday: "Most likely, Y/n. You are horrifying to look at. Good thing that I can't see you now," she retorted icily. A faint chuckle escaped Y/n's lips as he followed her down the hallway.Wednesday and Y/n walked closer to their respective lockers, their path intersected by a piece of paper that clung to Pugsley's locker. Unlocking it, she was greeted by a sight of a stubby boy tied up with rope and an apple crammed into his mouth. The girl swung open the locker, causing the boy to plummet to the ground. Y/n peered down at him, unamused.Y/n: "What the, Pugsley? " he exclaimed, plucking the apple from the boy's mouth.Wednesday: "I want names," she deadpanned, her eyes locking onto Pugsley with a mixture of annoyance and curiosity.Pugsley: "I don't know who they were, honest," Pugsley stammered, attempting to wriggle free from his bindings to no avail. Witnessing the frustration etched on Wednesday's face, Y/n interjected.Y/n: "What did you do this time?" Y/n sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose, hoping to get an answer from the tearful boy.Pugsley: "Nothing, it all happened so fast," Pugsley replied with a tearful expression.Wednesday: "Pugsley, emotion equals weakness. Pull yourself together," she retorted coldly, casting a disparaging gaze in his direction. The helpless boy whimpered, his efforts to suppress his tears in vain. Y/n, realizing that Pugsley might not develop resilience anytime soon, exchanged a meaningful glance with Wednesday. He extended a firm hand, hoisting Pugsley up from the grimy school floor.Y/n: "There will come a time when we won't be here to take care of you and your messes anymore. You have to learn to defend yourself," Y/n stated sternly, untangling the rope that bound the boy's body.Pugsley: "I know, so you don't need to be so harsh about it," Pugsley replied, attempting to compose himself. Just as Wednesday reached out to brush the dirt off his shoulders, her head jolted back, her eyes rolling into the depths of her skull.Y/n: "Wednesday?! " Y/n quickly caught the girl, cradling her gently in his arms. A vision seared through Wednesday's consciousness, of Pugsley being pushed and shoved by a group of jocks, his voice defiant as he stood up for himself.Jock: "You scared freak! You better be, because your sister and her boyfriend won't be here to stop us this time," the jock taunted, a sneer twisting his face. Wednesday watched the scene unfold, witnessing her brother's unexpected act of bravery.Pugsley: "You're the one who should be scared. Once Y/n finds out about this, you won't be so lucky," Pugsley retorted, defiance lacing his voice. The crowd erupted in laughter, recalling the moment Y/n had dealt with the jock and his group the previous week. A glimmer of pride flickered within Wednesday, but it quickly subsided when the jock shoved an apple into Pugsley's mouth and tossed him into the locker. As the vision released its grip on her, Wednesday's eyes snapped wide open, confusion clouding her gaze. She found herself staring into the sparkling green eyes of her beloved, her lover.Wednesday: "Are you going to let go, or do I have to dissect your limbs and leave you to rot like a potato" she threatened, her grip tightening on Y/n's hand, bending his fingers back with a force that could break them. "OUCH!" the blonde boy yelped, releasing his grasp on her.Y/n: "You know what? Next time that happens, I'll just ignore you," Y/n responded coldly, a dark expression etched onto his features as he turned and walked away towards class, unfazed by the daggers Wednesday's eyes pierced into the back of his head.Pugsley: "Are you okay? What was that?" Pugsley questioned, concern lacing his voice, as he turned back to his sister, his gaze filled with worry. With a heavy sigh, Wednesday reluctantly let go of her frustration and prepared to confide in her brother.Wednesday's thoughts: "I'm not going to tell him that I have recently been plagued by visions. They come without warning, and it feels like electroshock therapy, only without the satisfying afterburn. But it is reassuring to come back and see Y/n being there with me. It makes me feel like everything is okay."Catching up to Y/n, who continued walking without acknowledging her, Wednesday mustered the courage to address the tension that had been brought up between them.Wednesday: "Are you going to say anything, or are you going to sulk-" she began, but Y/n interjected sharply, cutting her off mid-sentence as he covered his face with his hand.Y/n: "I'm not sulking. It's just that every time your visions happen, I get worried. And when you come back, you always have to put me down like I'm in the wrong for catching you," Y/n responded, his tone laced with frustration. Wednesday raised her hand, ready to deliver a swift smack, but she halted when she noticed his hand already shielding his face.Wednesday: "I guess you know my moves too well," she said, smirking menacingly at him. Y/n stopped in his tracks, admiring the slight smirk that graced her lips. Wednesday wrapped her arms around Y/n's midriff, and he instinctively leaned down, enveloping her in a warm embrace.Wednesday: "And for what you said, I apologize for disregarding your caring intentions. It's just that there's a lot going on, and I still don't know why I get these visions," she admitted, burying her face deeper into Y/n's chest, seeking solace in his presence.Y/n: "I guess I should be the one to apologize. I know how much you dislike physical affection and sentimental conversations. But what I said earlier still stands. I'll try to ignore you the next time it happens," Y/n responded in a monotone voice though he had a sly smirk, earning another accepting smirk from Wednesday.Wednesday: "I hate this. Why is it that you never smile anymore? You know, we used to stop sometimes and smile and laugh when we were younger," she lamented, her gaze piercing into Y/n's soul.Wednesday: "Do I not make you happy? Or do you not love me?" Wednesday questioned, her voice tinged with vulnerability. In an impulsive act, she poked something sharp against Y/n's waist, only for him to glance down and discover a knife.Y/n sighed deeply, his eyes meeting Wednesday's midnight-dark gaze. Y/N: "Really, a knife? You really think that I don't love you? " he responded, his voice laced with a mixture of exasperation and affection. He kissed her forehead gently, his touch soft and comforting, before playfully poking her nose, which caused her to clench her jaw and scrunch her nose in response.Wednesday: "We will continue this discussion at home. But until then, do you want to teach a certain group of frat boys a lesson... again?" she asked, a mischievous glint dancing in her eyes. A wry smile tugged at the corners of Y/n's lips as he intertwined his fingers with Wednesday's. Y/n: "Of course " he replied, a hint of determination coloring his words.Together, Wednesday and Y/n went on their familiar journey of mischief. They navigated the twisted corridors of their school, their footsteps echoing through the halls as they prepared for the day.Wednesday couldn't help but acknowledge the demons that plagued her mind, the haunting visions that swept through her consciousness. But she found peace in the fact that Y/n stood by her side. Together, they faced the challenges that awaited, ready to carve their own path in a world that often look down on them.
