Chapter 8: Military

[How long are we going to stay here.]

'Until I am proficient enough in guns, and that will be for a week. I don't have to worry about anything beside humans and zombies will not leave the city unprovoked. In that time, I can make myself familiar with and heal my swollen hand at that time.'

Anik said while quickly eating his food.

AFTER A WEEK /TIME:-8:44AM

*Bang*bang*bang*

All three shots were shot decently in the targeted place.

'Ahh…it still hurts to shoot the gun from the right hand.'

He said while looking at the gun holding right hand, which was covered in bandage and was not swollen anymore.

'How many weeks until the upgrade comes, Aafia?'

Anik asked Aafia.

[Umm,3 weeks.]

'I am meaning to ask this question?it is only normal zombies in his world or other supernatural beings.'

Anik asked Aafia while looking serious.

[Well, there will appear soon in 1 month, and they are called mutated zombies which are 3 to 4 times the normal zombies than the regular zombies, but they can also be an opportunity to get stronger.]

'Now that's a problem. If normal zombies are 2 times stronger than a regular adult male human, then mutated zombies are 6 to 8 times stronger than a regular human being. And how can I get stronger from those zombies?'

Anik asked Aafia.

[Well, the stronger zombies will drop something called essence which makes them stronger than the regular zombies. If you eat that, you can get stronger.]

'Um I understand, so I have to kill them to get the essence to get stronger. And why are you helping me so much, didn't you say that you were only an observer, but you help me to learn how to shoot and now this information. Are you secretly my system or what?'

Anik asked Aafia.

[It's just I would rather not babysit another newbie, and I think you can survive this world with that unique skill of yours.So, that's why.]

'Ok I understand'

Anik said to Aafia while looking doubtful.

'Now, let's change the place to sleep for tonight and I will throw these empty mag guns in the river(Chickasaw creek) that I found near the forest.'

[ Why do we have to change places every 2 days?You do it because you think you will attract unwanted attention by firing your gun too many times. So,you change your place every time and throw all your waste guns in the river to not get found and questioned by other humans?]

'Yes, correct.'

Anik said to Aafia.

'Do you think the military is still active now?'

Anik asked Aafia.

[They may be, I think the military can still hold their own with the normal zombies for now. But I don't know what will happen after mutated zombies appear.]

'I don't think my gun can kill mutated zombies.'

Anik said.

[Well, it can if the mutant zombie stays still and lets you shoot its head 20 times up close.]

'Then I have to find a military base with people or without it. To get the best gun and other essential things I will be able to get an upgrade in 3 weeks.

I want to get the best gun, gears, clothes etc. I am still angry to lose one of the slot with a normal kitchen knife.'

Anik said to Aafia.

[But it's risky, isn't it? What if they kill you in the spot?]

'Yes, it's risky, but I will die eventually if I don't get the best gear to fight those mutated zombies. And I will try not to get shot.

Well, I will first check them from afar and see if they have any refugees and if they have, maybe, I can act as a survivor and get into the military camp.'

[I understand]

Ten people in military uniform with guns were going house to house searching for supplies and guns near the residential area where Anik first appeared in this world.
