Chapter 5:Elk's first change and 73 remaining [1]

David was standing amongst a crowd of a hundred people,men.They warden was looking down at them condescendingly as he told them the rules of the game.

"Alright,the one hundred of you has been chosen to participate in today's event.Today's battlefield will be the forest, great for those of you who are hunters or an assassination ability.Take them away!"

When he finished talking the guards heard him they guided them down a hall till they reached an enormous steel gate.It opened with a creek and what welcomed them was a forest.

Creeeeeeek!

When they entered Elk marveled and thought the where outside since there where even clouds in the sky. However on closer inspection one can see the clouds glitching like a hologram.

"You have ten minutes to disperse,the event will last for three hours.There are no safe zones and only ten of you will survive.If there are more than ten people after three hours only those with the top 10 most kills will survive."

After the guards said that all of them left and the gate closed.The participants looked at each other warily and separated.Some formed groups while others ran off alone.

"What the hell am I supposed to do?I only just awakened and don't know how to use my ability!"Elk muttered to himself.

Elk took off and ran through the forest He ran for seven minutes and came to a stop,in front of him was a waterfall.He first looked around to see if he was followed and went up to it.

'If novels have taught me anything it would be that there is always a hidden cave behind waterfall.'

Elk went to the cliff and looked around but he was unable to find anything.The started climbing until he reached the middle and saw vines hanging and went over.When he pushed them to the side he saw the concealed cave he was looking for and entered.

His bracelet suddenly made a sound and he saw a green light and a number appeared on it.

'Does this mean the game has started?'

Just as he looked at the number suddenly went down.

'That was quick!'

He the looked out from the cave and saw someone being chased by to other men.

"Dammit we where supposed to be partners!"

The man that was being chased shouted.

"We have no need for the weak."One of the two men answered.

When he said this the two of them activated their abilities as they used myriad energy to enhance their bodies.The man on the left had a brown hue swirling around him and the man on the left a red hue.

The lone man gritted his teeth and enhanced his own body with a blue hue.Then the three of them released their abilities.

"Stone bullets!"

"Flame wave!"

"Aqua wall!"

The lone man created a wall made of water out of thin air while the other two released fist sized stone projectiles and flames in a wave.

When they clashedan explosion occurred.The stones sank in to the water and slowed down while the flames crashed with the water and it evaporated.

The lone man looked tired as he endured,his energy was draining fast.

"You bastards you forced me!"

He suddenly spread his arms and energy burst out of his body as the water volume increased as it collected water from the surroundings and the air and became ten meters tall.

"Combat art - Water wall - Collapsing wave!"

"Shit, he has a combat art,run!"The man with the red hue screamed and ran as the other man followed.They both had horrified expressions.

"Haha, you didn't expect this did you you bastards!Now die!"

The water wall collapsed and fanned out in a wave as a crushing pressure surrounded the two of them.When it fell downit crushed both of them and the surrounding trees causing them to sink into the ground.

The two of the spat out blood as their organs where crushed and the died instantly.The pressure dissipated as the water fell and flowed into the surroundings.The man fell to the ground and breathed heavily as he fell to the ground.

When Elk saw this he felt a feeling he had never felt before.

"That was so...beautiful!All that power."

When he said this a shadow streaked across his eyes as and he instinctively jumped down into the water.He swam to the shore and came infront of the man.

When the man looked up he saw Elk standing there with his eyes entirely balk.

"Wh...who are you?"

The man groaned as he trembled from exhaustion l.The groan snapped Elk out of his stupor and he realized he was no longer in the cave.

"Are you alright?"He asked the man.

The man looked up again and saw his eyes were no longer black.When he saw the sympathy in Elk's eyes a glint flashed across his eyes.He whispered something.

Elk couldn't hear and tried to go closer to listen, when he kneeled down and got closer the man's right hand was suddenly surrounded by a blue hue and he struck ou.

Bang!

Elk was peirce through the chest!

He spat out blood as he had an incredulous expression and looked at the man with a mix of surprise and hatred.

"Why?"

"Hehe,you think I don't know you would have struck me down?Do I look naive to you?That false sympathy in your eyes isn't fooling me! I am just doing to you what you would have done to me first,now die!"

The man ripped out his arm and Elk's blood sprayed all over the ground as he collapsed.He finally laid back down to recover some strength.But what he didn't notice was that even when he killed Elk the number of participants didn't change.
