Chapter 12:Plans for escape and Elk's ability.

"Bob,James, you are just in time to help us settle a dispute."

One of the men said as he saw the three arrive.There where thirteen people in the room now including them.Four were woman while the rest were men,with two of them not being human.

'I wonder if there are more than just these twelve members?'

"Oh,is this the new guy you talked about with the Ex rank ability?"

"Yeah,we just haven't figured out what his attribute is yet.So we brought him here to check.Anyway what is the matter?"

"Gen over here says we would have a better chance at escaping if we were to give a chance to everyone to riot while trying to escape during the chaos while I say it would be better to just do it quietly without alerting anyone since we almost have all the necessary preparations finalized.What do you think?"

The men then pointed over to the man who nearly killed Elk during the game.He sat there as if he didn't even bother with the man's argument against his idea and was only meditating.

'So his name is Gen.'

"I think we should go with our original idea and keep his as a precaution incase something goes wrong.Maybe we can even tweak our plans a bit if Elk's ability will be useful."

"Oh I see,that would be fir the best.So what is his ability?I can sense he is already a level 4 meaning he should've already awoken it and have an idea how he will use it."

Elk looked at the man while his lips twitched lightly when he heard this.Ofcourse he knew what his ability was and what it could do but to him it sounded so useless.

His ability was [Contamination] as for what it does...well, it contaminates.As simple as that,the description of the ability didn't say what it contaminates or what the Contamination ability does.Which naturally made him helpless.

However he already thought of a way to hide the fact since he can just say one of the side effects of his attribute is his ability and they wouldn't know.

"My ability is to block the flow of myriad energy of anything my fog touches."

The people in the room was surprised when they heard this because to them this was like a godsend ability.Gen open his eyes from meditation and thought back to their battle.

"When we fought I felt the pre-awakening of this ability,it did indeed stop my flow of energy for a moment.

Elk sighed with relief the moment he heard this.He was happy Gen thought that the side effect was his ability making his lie more believable.

"Haha...since that's the case you will be very useful when the time comes.It might have even been this that interfered with the runes unintentionally back then when you used your ability."

Bob said as he looked at Elk like he found a treasure.The people in the room then started to make changes to their plans were Elk's ability would become in handy.

Elk had nothing to say or do at this time and went over to Gen who was sitting alone.He also didn't take part in this discussion and only looked at the others discussing fervently.

"What do you want?"

"I want to ask what level you are."Elk stated.

"Knowing that will bring you nothing."

Gen said while not even turning his head Elk's way and only looking at the others discussing.

"No it will,knowing will allow me to figure out how far away I am from beating you."

Gen's eyebrow lifted in surprise as he looked at Elk with surprise.He didn't expect Elk to still be hung up on his defeat.He expected Elk to give up after seeing the difference between them.He then shook his head as he sighed.

"Even if I tell you what level I am now it still is not even a fraction of my true strength."

Elk looked confused as he didn't understand what he meant by that but just shrugged his shoulders and put it in the back of his mind for now.He then stayed silent and waited for them to finish their discussion.

After the meeting went on for 30 minutes they finally came to an end.Bob and James stood up and called Elk over

"We'll be taking out leave then."James said.

The three of them left leaving the others in the room.

"Wait didn't they come here to test that boy's attribute?"

"I think so.Anyway it doesn't matter it's probably something like darkness or shadow by the looks of it anyway."

While they were walking outside Elk felt the pressure of higher beings again.

"I've been meaning to ask,why doesn't these powerful beings just teleport to the upper floors and break out that way."

"Good observation,but it's not that easy.Even if they do go to the upper floors alarms will go off because there would be a person not belonging there and they would have to face the prison warden,on an unfathomable level,instead of just an ordinary level warden on the same level.So most prisoners kill that idea the moment it surfaces."

"How do the guards get alarmed when someone with a higher level is on the floor?"

"There are runes made by a beginner rune master located all over the prison helping the wardens monitor it.So basically this is an impenetrable and inescapable fortress.Except for one day every three months when the prison warden goes away to Earth's higher up meetings.However no one knows when that is since it is a secret but we have learned from an inside man when the next one will be and we are planning for when that day comes."

'Damn these people are so cunning they could even figure that out.I should really get a sense for shrewd people like this so I can know how to handle them in the future.'
