Chapter 14 It's Too Late To Regret

Once Cyril arrived home he chatted with his mother a bit. "So how was school?" she asked well making lunch. "It was pretty good." Cyril said in reply as he went to put his bag upstairs. "By the way dad won't be coming home today he went abroad Atlantis on a business trip." she said as he came back down.

"Oh okay." Cyril replied with as he sat down to watch tv. He was watching Sand Emperor. It was a series about an Emperor in the desert who could control sand and thus was named Sand Emperor. 'Man he acts and uses sand like Gaara.' Cyril thought while watching Sand Emperor.

Although it was all special effects it was still pretty amazing. Soon lunch was ready and he started to chat with his mother. "Have you heard the news?" she asked him. "No I haven't what's up?" he replied with.

"Lately apparently there have been a lot of child robberies and crimes involving children your age in general. Poor kids they must've been extorted. One time a building was even burnt to the ground." she told him while looking at him sadly.

"Oh really?" he replied with before watching more tv. 'Well today I am going to take a break, but it can't be a coincidence that all of us got powers and suddenly there are children committing crimes.'

he thought as his gaze started to deepen.

Cyril rested that weekend. A mistake that he would regret and come to call the biggest he ever made.

Monday

Cyril arrived at school and entered. This time he wasn't one of the last people to arrive so he chatted with Drake and Jack a bit.

"Man my powers have really grown after reaching Stage 2 I can even compete with those other 4 in a fight if it was before." Drake said as Jack continued "Ya man I can now create slashes in the air and finally use Koka. I can also use my devil fruit much better than before. By the way how much more powerful did you get Cyril?"

Cyril started to panick a little and thought 'If they got so much more powerful after a weekend of training then what about the others in the top 20?' Although Cyril was a bit panicked he replied with "I didn't really train in the weekend so about the same."

Drake and Jack looked at each other dumbfounded and said "You didn't ask the guide did you?" they both said almost simultaneously. "No why?" Cyril asked inquisitively.

"OH GOD OH GOD! WE'RE SCREWED!" Jack said panickedly while looking nervously at Cyril. "What's up why such a fuss?" Cyril asked. "A-sssk the guide what's happening today." Drake said.

"Fine." Cyril said as he asked the guide.

He looked pale as he heard what it said.

"On Monday 28th October it will be humanities big debut. 02 the designated AI had understimated you humans and thought you would only reach Stage 2 after a year so now you will all debut today after a bit over a month.

Since Stage 2 grants a human a sharp increase in power. Apart from militiary measures such as nuclear bombs, missiles, tanks and the like a regular human can't combat against a Stage 2 human.

Due to this some people who have been granted powers are using them for their own personal means. Since they aren't breaking any rules 02 can't punish them but as this is also a Defence system they must be stopped. If they are not stopped, as the rules shall be lifted today, anarchy will ensue and after a while humanity will cease to exist.

So due to this all of you have not caused any crimes shall be sent to stop these criminals. Once you stop them they shall be executed and based on your performance you shall be rewarded.

Oh and I almost forgot. Your school shall be teleported to Atlantis to fight the one who's known by his school as the Unkillable Flaming Fist." the guide send as it's voice faded.

"F*ck you've got to be kidding me. We're fighting someone who can manipulate flames and is called unkillable? His nickname also it must be. THE MERA MERA NO MI!" Cyril said as he looked at Drake and Jack.

"At what time will we be teleported? Do you know?" Cyril asked Jack and Drake. "It should be about n...." Drake said as they were teleported towards the enemy.
