Chapter 35

Nyaruko POV

I have Akatsukis creations with me. They are all very dear to Akatsuki.

Just that thought gives me butterflies in my stomach. When I think of stealing them from Akatsuki, I can't help shivering.

But the moment I think of the consequences, I blood runs cold.

I remember that scene from 22 billion years ago.

I promised to tell them what happened to Akatsuki and who Nebula is.

"So, let's begin." I say.

They all gulp and lean towards me from their seats.

I begin. I was born 30 billion years ago. And Akatsuki is the same age as me. But I would say, he was a bit older than me.

Just a few years. We grew up together. And there was Nebula. The same age as me and Akatsuki.

So we were a group of three. Always playing and laughing together.

We kept growing up but we still stuck to each other.

And we all were one billion year old. In our case, we age like humans. So I billion years is called a fully fledged adult.

But Akatsuki did not apply for apprenticeship.

We are gods. So we basically have to take charge. So at first, we become apprentice of other gods and learn stuff.

I was assigned to my father as he is the ruler of this realm. Nebula was to her father. Who is second in command and my fathers younger brother.

So that makes us cousins. But Akatsuki never applied for it.

So he was a NEET of sorts. However, before I noticed it, he became strong. He was weak. Really weak.

Even a new born god was stronger than him. But, he suddenly gained power.

Nebula and I were shocked at this.

But he said to not mind it.

It may not seem like it to others but Nebula was in love with Akatsuki.

It was a childhood love that has been nurtured for more than 800 million years.

But she did not confess it. And Akatsuki was quite dense. Not just that, he was insensitive and brash.

So, he did not understand a woman's heart.

I pushed Nebula many times but it did not happen.

And time passed by again.

And then, 6 billion years later, on her 7 billionth birthday, Nebula confessed to Akatsuki.

But that was also me pushing her with all my might.

Akatsuki was dumbfounded and it took him a few days to process the stuff.

And a few days later he said,

"I will be going on a trip. After coming back, I will give you an order. But if you don't want to wait, you can do whatever you want. I am not blaming you."

He said that and left. Just who does that?

He still hadn't understood how she felt.

I have seen her crying.

But it was also true that Nebula was a peerless beauty.

With her hair which was like a starry night sky, and her skin so white that even light itself would blush, she was said to be one of the two unattainable flowers of this realm.

Of course the other one being me.

And one billion year later that happened.

God realm isn't too different from human society.

There are other gods who seek us. But then one day Nebula went missing.

After a week or so, we found her. Not her.

Even the mere sight of that grieves me.

Nebula was found in a ruined world, all battered and bruised as her lifeless body was discovered.

After checking her it was found that, she died before she was toyed with.

That means, in order to save herself, she committed suicide.

But those who kidnapped her toyed with her body.

That time I was so overcome with rage that I almost attacked those who are suspected.

But my father stopped me.

Nebulas father went insane from the shock and the power balance got destroyed.

Just this one incident almost crumbled the god realm to dust.

And one thousand years after that, Akatsuki came back.

More powerful than before he came back as he came to me.

"Where is Nebula?" He asked me.

I just stared at him. In a daze, I slapped him.

Tears fell down my cheeks as I did that. He was confused about my behavior.

But he did not do anything. And waited for me to calm down.

After calming down, I took him. Where Nebula was buried.

It really isn't necessary for gods to be buried but it was her wish.

Akatsuki just stood there. Dumbfounded as he looked at Nebulas grave.

It took a while but when he understood what he was seeing, a single teardrop fell.

Then he closed his eyes and after a moment opened.

But his eyes had changed. Even a moment ago, they were filled with grief and regret.

But now, only mad rage and anger was there.

He probably used his omniscience to see what had happened.

He left the grave and disappeared.

Then a few days later, the whole world shook.

Every god was surprised as no one knew why.

But then, Akatsuki appeared. His figure was horrifying.

The normal Akatsuki had a calm and aloof demeanor.

But this one had a mad demeanor. Like the demons, he had lost every sense of morality.

We got really scared. But when I saw my father retreating, I retreated.

And with that, the gods who were good and did not have a hand in THAT case retreated.

Maybe it was Akatsukis signal.

'Retreat while I can control myself.' That's what was the signal.

Those who had a hand could not even move.

They were totally frozen and just not that.

Even their families were frozen.

So it turned out to be the rebel faction.

There was a group that was planning to stage a rebellion.

And Nebula was sacrificed to give them a reason.

If she was sacrificed, we would have struck them first and in the war, we would lose.

That's how it probably would have gone.

But my father didn't even move.

Maybe he noticed these and he didn't take action.

And the battle began. The numbers were astronomical.

A total of 1500000 gods and one Akatsuki.

But it was not as expected.

We expected Akatsuki to have died in vain.

But, the battle went on. It persisted for 300 years and in the end Akatsuki was the victor.

He won, overwhelmingly. And this place where the battle took place became a lifeless and desolate place. Devoid of life and a strong smell of death lingering here.

Akatsuki single-handedly destroyed all of them and their created worlds.

The true number of casualties were infinite.

It could not be counted. And then, he came to meet us.

"I am leaving. May we never meet again." He said to me and my father and disappeared.

That's how he became the Akatsuki of today. I simply finish my story.

Then I look at them. For this entire time, I had my eyes closed like I was remembering and narrating.

After seeing them, I was shocked. Tears were trickling down their cheeks.

I don't think the story was such a tearjerker.

I didn't use any special narrative to make it seem sad either.

I just told them the honest story I remember.

I also told them that I don't know what Akatsuki was thinking back then.
